I started to cry because those people were so blessed and lucky to have so many people being able to do that in such a small amount of time if we have more men like that trust and believe you will be making money hand over foot at the same time people would be able to afford to live in Better Homes God bless you
We see comments , from people who don't know what they are talking about. What I see, it is an entrepreneur who is caring for is customer and make sur job is less invasive as possible to the home owner. What need to be understand is that a lot of work been done that we don't see on the video. All the joist for the floor we're done before that day, I feel secur that they screw all the hold joinst which hold the first floor ceiling to the new one which prévent damage. Also Wall we're prebuilt. His procedure allow minimal time keeping the house open to rain damage.
Thanks for the support David, though I personally cannot take credit for the work, only the video! The actual job was performed in the manner you suggested by John Bryson and crew of Attleboro, MA. Their website is at www.JMBryson.com
+Richard Gagnon good job brother!!!! I guess people don't realize that's why there's a such thing as code inspection to make sure the house doesn't fall down the next day or anytime after that. I'd feel safe living there and I'm on the construction industry.
Jason is getting ready to build a new home for my wife and yours truly in Niceville, Florida. Moving to Niceville from Louisville, Kentucky to be closer to our older daughter. Working with Jason has been a pleasure. I was taken back when I found this video on RUclips. Small world we live in knowing our builder is on RUclips sharing one of his project with everyone.
They do it every day and have for centuries. Not exactly new. But I have seen it done using a pallet lift truck (lifts and trusses, sheets plywood, boxes of shingles, etc) to a roof or use of a crane to do the same. A friend had her’s done..ordered a prefab built in a factory no waste etc already sheathed etc and was lifted by crane on top of the 1st floor and then hurricane tied into the original structure. All the same lumber and joinery, etc but better, more accuracy because in the factory it was covered and everything was done to very exact specs by accurate machines. They can work year round no weather issues. And when they get to the job site it goes on fast so less chance of weather damage to lower story plus it is so fast. Have seen 3500 sq ft go up in a day 1/2. Coordination of resources and timing is critical.
It's not too difficult to frame the walls yourself and you'd save a ton of money. There are lots of framing videos on here. Tools can be an issue if you don't have them, but a good old fashioned hammer has worked for many people. You can also rent saws and other power tools from your local hardware store.
Idk if they reeeeally did it in one day. If they did this in two days, it would be amazing. The team work is awesome !! I didn't know they beardless Amish people. 😉
Just curious if you don't mind answering have you gotten anyone and if so how much I was interested in this for my sister shes divorced and wanted to add a second story to parents house
Juan Ramirez codes required them to make sure there is support to hold the second floor alot of work not shown on the video was done to make this happen it just makes it easier to do it this way and makes life easier for the owner where less time of not being able to stay inda home it cut down dramatically
You can see the new floor joists were already in. 2x4 walls have no problems supporting a second floor. Most foundations are overbuilt so many times there isn't a whole lot more to make the house capable of another floor because it already is in most cases.
DarthSailorMoon chances are there are walls for room partitions in that home and the second floor joists are bearing on the interior walls besides the exterior walls.
no wonder Ur hauses Fall apart on 1st wind , how can U build entire walls and everything with wood? Real wood hauses are 10x heavyer than this. My shed is probably stronger than this.
+ndleinahaystack I supose you are also american or something. becouse this is cheap building. in my conutry we build wood hause with full log not some 5x6cm plank stacked together. and it does make sense if you have brain to figure it out. when you have huricanes in america its a disaster and we have wind we call " bura" bog te jebo. which are same speed and nothing hepends to any hause. cuz we build them strong. as i said. my shed is stronger than this crap build
+Ivan Brzi have you ever heard of LEED or Green Building? every area here in the states is not tornado alley. most new homes now are built with 2x6 timbers and not 2x4 timbers.
+ndleinahaystack ofc I have. and as i said. when we build eco friendly hauses we use full logs or half log with 25x25 beam supostrs. I know that not everyehere is tordado aley, but americans build hauses like this everywhere. even where is tornado aley. and then cry when some mid. speed wind blows half of their hause. most of our hauses are solid brick 25x12x6 in dublle rows build like bunkers.
+Ivan Brzi There are 100 million homes in the US that prove you wrong. Try turning off your video game and taking a class in engineering so you don't make ridiculous statements.

"making money hand over foot"
That is some good prep work a lot of calculations!

Holy crow that was amazing! All pieces done in advance I expect, and very well done indeed!

It reminded me of barn raising parties in old movies ❤ and thank you for the video, I really needed to understand the process 👍
Many hands make light work. Wow!
awesome job! Looks like they did a bunch of the work ahead of time...
Amazing to see when you have a solid team with some horsepower behind it
Those didn’t look like horses to me. They looked more like people, so I think I would say “people power”!
Prep work was done before hand... This is for people who already understand remodeling
Very efficient use of good weather.
Hope they looked into the foundation before adding a second story though.
Watching this video reminds me of the clip from family guy, where they kept destroying the Amish house and the Amish kept rebuilding it.
HAHAHA damnit
can lower floor support this addition??
How much did this cost? is the question I have
I have never seen anything like that...wow!!!
That was an amazing job 💯❤️🤎🖤🧡
Thank you.
I don’t think I would call that “raising the roof”. I think I would call it “adding a second floor”.
What is the approximate cost to do something like this? for about 2 000sq ranch home? We are in WI.
I'll do it for 3 easy payments of $19.95!
No, but if you pay 2 additional payments of $19.95, I can stack it all on my colleagues Honda Civic and hope he makes it.
It's not a ranch home. That's a cape.
Looks like they removed the roof, built the second floor deck and then built a temp roof ahead of time.
Can this be done on a cape cod home?
How much it cost to make second story with 1 bedroom and 1 full bathroom?
wow I would to see how the house looks final ...but Great job
This is amazing! I didn't know you could transform a one floor home into a two floor home. I would have never imagined.

Also check out turning a crawlspace into a basement :)
rosebudforglory , do you know what company she got the prefab part from.
@@plips71755 what is company do you know
That's fucking sick
No sound... is this an 8mm film from the 70s??
Reminds me of ants getting ready for winter
doing this to my home there saying it will take a good 6 months..
Amazing! how much was the cost and how long did it take? Also where did you get the pre made wall frames?

Laurie Clarkson thanks Laurie, that’s very helpful!
Could the poster tell us what the cost of that project was I am considering doing the same thing
Did you ever do it... I wanna know the cost to
Same here my ranch is 1024 sqft and I want to add a second story.
Please don't unless you know what you're doing. Many people tend to believe the floor can be just supported by walls which is totally wrong.
Holy shit😂😂😂 Nice
That's impressive!
Well they did that quick
What was the cost of this ?
Show materials and process of preparing those please
How much it is cost-.,
between 50 000 - 150 000 $
@@thsikezierkojo4991 No
@@wilsq30 yes! it is not a 15000$ job
thsikezier kojo framing doesn’t cost 150k
better to lift up the roof 5 or 6 feet and fix the new floor, that will be much cheaper ..

wow GREAT Job guys...
Just play raising te roof emote and everything eill be fine
Impressive!
Amazing we want u to raise our roof too
How did you do that?
nice job
Of course. Why would they demo the ceiling and make a mess inside

I see one bad thing about this... did y'all make the house capable to support the next level?
