      @ebee485 Hey please don't watch this video and expect to play dragon's dogma with framerate of anything acceptable (Like the 30 fps mentioned). The steam page requirements are way under what the requirements should really be, and the game IS NOT capped at 30 fps. Not sure why that was said. Please look at reviews of the game and get a better idea of how cpu intensive the game is! Taking these parts and expecting to play the game is a recipe for disappointment unfortunately :( The game is immensely cpu bound which means that having a fantastic gpu isn't going to increase performance as much as having a better cpu will in this particular game.

    It looks like $600 is a minimum required for a gaming PC. However I would increase the bar to $800.

      I assume you mean including peripherals? I built this PC for under $500 as shown in the video, and I could’ve even gone cheaper if I looked for better deals or gone with used parts. For $600-800 you can build a pretty awesome PC

      @@PetesParts16 Agree.

    Just a heads up, you will want to move the graphics card to the top PCIE slot, the one right below the CPU and right above the NVME drive. The slot you have it in is a 4x slot and not 16x like the top one, so it hinder performance.

      Thanks, yeah I actually moved it before I tested the games. I want to try testing it in both slots to see how big of a difference performance is.

    Hey nice video. I just want to point out that you plugged your video card into a PCIe slot that only appears to be wired for 4 lanes instead of the full 16. If you move it to the top PCIe slot with that metal shield around it then you’ll get the full x16 bandwidth of the card.

      Thanks! I may actually try both lanes to see how much of a performance loss it is. Sounds like dragons dogma 2 already has performance issues so will be interesting to see how this build does with it. I’m planning to benchmark it (and horizon) this weekend

      Great idea. That gpu and mobo look like PCIe gen3 so each lane would run roughly 1GB/s. The top slot would communicate with the gpu at ~16GB/s and the lower one would be ~4GB/s. I’d be super interested to see if it makes a big difference in a few games.

      The gpu fan might also get a little choked by the power supply.

    Looks like an interesting experiment. If I were building an entry level pc I’d keep all the parts the same but swap the 1070 for a rx 6600. It’s only $100 more but it’s so much more powerful.

      For sure, my last build was actually with a Rx 6600, you can find it on my channel. It is one of the best bang for your buck GPUs out there

    I know nothing about PCs but want to build one. I only play single player games. Usually AAA games similar to these. Would a setup like this run all those kinds of games ok or will I have issues with certain kinds?

    • @PetesParts16
      @PetesParts16  3 месяца назад +1

      You can definitely run just about any game with this build. You’ll need to adjust settings depending on the game, and will have best results in 1080p though some games should run fine in 1440p.

    unreal engine 5.4 and unity six will crash unless you have a RTX 4090 graphics card this must be an old video. you'll need $5000 computer these days to use those engines without crashing.
