      at first i was let down when i saw tears of kingdom but now u made me remember that ''building ontop of a good game'' can really be revolutionary. a bit like sonic adventure battles 2 or even league. im glad they are trying stuff

    I didn't feel the same way about TOTK as I felt with BOTW. It's just not the same thing exploring this land again even if it's a lot new in it. Totk is in many ways better but not greater.

      Also when it comes to how I am hoping the franchise moves in a specific direction, I hope that they are able to revitalize the combat system and bring back more linear progressing dungeons, but I will never turn my nose up to another open world BoTW/ToTK style game

    I'm not upset with this, I think it had its run and I enjoyed both BoTW and ToTK, which the latter I spent more time on. I'd be excited for a Twilight Princess-esque game or Wind Waker too.

      You do know Aonuma said that he's just done with BotW's Hyrule...Not open games in general. He did an interview with IGN that got published 2 days ago that basically confirmed he has no interest in going back (thank goodness) and is sticking with the open world formula than the games that led you down a linear path and held your hand

    Personally since I got into BOTW pretty late, there's still stuff for me to do in it. With TOTK however, I didn't spend much time with it, as it seemed more like a spoiled version of BOTW to me.
    I would be more than happy to see the games go in a different direction.

    I need another open world Zelda game but with more complicated human interactions and towns. I wish they bring back the Hyrule Castle town.

  • @hoganshairline4175

    seeing the sales of both games, i dont think they will ever go back to a more linear style game. most likely more BOTW/TOTK in a new world with maybe more emphasis on the ocean so maybe an open world windwaker

    Its been fun but it had to end and they had to move on eventually. And I'm ready for the new take on Link, Zelda, villain and world we see. What new mechanics we'll get. What new lore and characters we'll meet. Also new aesthetic. Never want to live in one Zelda era forever or see it milked too much.

    Ok but like, in the next Zelda game can we pet the dogs please? That’s all I want. 🥺

  • @a.jthomas6132
    @a.jthomas6132 9 месяцев назад

    I honestly don’t know. And I’m not ready to move on. Not if there is so much more of the BOTW/TOTK story to tell. And Ganondorf’s backstory, the origin of the Zonai, Exploring more of Ancient Hyrule and experiencing the events of the first Great Calamity is one of the concepts that Nintendo should of dive deeper since Breath of the Wild.
    My biggest concern is that if the developers are planning to move on from this continuity, what would Link x Zelda’s relationship be like? I grew fond of the pair since this version of Zelda has an amazing character development as well as how her love for Link is what awakened her powers. For the next Zelda game, I would rather have it be more a staging steps where their relationship started out as friends to grow closer to becoming lovers and not the platonic relationship (as seen in Twilight Princess).

    It's a shame we never really got to see this Hyrule in its prime. The kingdom was already in ruins in both BotW and TotK. If they do come back to this world, I think it would have to be in the distant past or future. Before the Great Calamity or after Hyrule is fully rebuilt.

    As someone who played a lot of BoTW but didn't get ToTK (just hearing some story beats from friends), I'm kinda surprised to hear the open world is basically the same Hyrule. That just sounds kind of lame, I'm so used to them completely overhauling Hyrule in every game, with a few general consistencies. (Death Mountain being somewhere in the north, Lake Hylia being somewhere in the south, and Hyrule Castle being typically in the center tends to be the norm in Zelda maps.)
    Speaking honestly, I wasn't all that excited for ToTK, and personally feel that if we're going to have this much of a wait between games than I hope ToTK is the end of open-world Zeldas. I hope next Zelda is less of an open-world and more of an overworld, like OoT, MM, TP, etc..

    • @javiervasquez625
      @javiervasquez625 9 месяцев назад +2

      Knowing Nintendo they'll definetly keep open world at the forefront of their To do list in regards to how to develop the next big game in the series so i'm sadly aware that the odds of seeing a brand new linear styled Zelda in the future are very slim at best given Aonuma's recent statements regarding open world Zelda becoming the new staple of the franchise going forward.

    Im glad because i don't really feel like exploring the same world again. Especielly searching for shrines... Also i hate the depth. It's the worst part of the game for me seems like a massive chore being down there.

    I don't believe it for a moment. Too much was made of The First Calamity War to just be dismissed. I think there IS a third game coming. But the landscape of Hyrule will be very different. And more over, we won't be playing as Link...or more accurately, Link as we know him. Instead, my belief is that we will play as the Zonai hero in his time period of Hyrule and witness his fight against Calamity Ganon.
