Agreed, I'm not a big fan of arachnids, but I have a soft spot for jumping spiders. The ones we have in NJ are tiny but very bold and inquisitive.

In my backyard i have these beautiful black azure colored fanged jumping spiders with a tiny orange spot on the abdomen they're a super cute Maryland species.
Once, I was sitting around and felt something on my arm. When I looked, it was a tiny little jumping spider that had somehow found its way onto my arm and was crawling on me. I raised my hand to swat it away, and it immediately froze, looked right at me, and raised its little arms up. I know that this was actually a defensive posture, but it just looked so much like the poor little thing froze in fear and threw up its hands as if to say "I surrender! Don't shoot!" that I couldn't possibly bring myself to hurt it, and carefully let it go on the ground
When that spider came out from under the sand, my ass flew so high off the toilet seat that it almost broke it when I came back down.
The same thing happened to me... My ass did break though, It's got a crack in it

Kiwi is the spider that brought me to this channel. I live in Las Vegas so there’s many spiders here including many jumping spiders. I’ve loved catching and handling them since I was a kid. Hands down one of the most intelligent little creatures running around the desert.

I love all critters big and small but spiders hold a special place in my heart so it is nice to see others feel the same. I was so excited when you got Kiwi. @@crowofjudgement8810 ahh i have a GBB, an aphonopelma chalcodes, acanthoscurria geniculata and a really weird one called psalmopoeus reduncus, which i thought was a cambridgei. I have always wanted a Balfouri! I had a ceratogyrus darlingi but sadly he passed away as a sling cuz he kept refusing to eat :c
@@thecoalcoloredfox4004 yeah I have a GBB too I love the webbing and their brilliant colours, aphonopelma chalcodes is a brilliant species too, females are huge and really gentle :) I didn't have amy problems with my balfouri even though it was just a sling, mines was very ready to take down prey although i found that they prefer to take prey that is smaller tham what most t's go for, if you would like a balfouri I would go for it they basically have the same housing requirements as GBB's preferring dryer substrate and deep substrate isn't necessary as they don't burrow too often and instead to web up a hide.
This is still my favorite Dark Den video of all time :)

i have a story... so i saw a jumping spider (phidippus audax) in my room 4 ish years ago.. i let it go outside as i was not really that deep into spiders yet (by that i mean i was scared of them and now im not thanks to channels like yours..) and ever since then i always said if i find another one in my room, i might keep it for a while and just observe and learn. so, yesterday i went to the grocery store, handed the lady who bagged my groceries my re-usable bags.. and she screamed "oh my god a spider!" and before i could do anything she dumped it on the floor and stepped on it. i was crushed. LOL . i was mad because even though i was out and about, and couldn't really keep that one because of that anyways, she at least could have let it go outside. i educated her and told her that usually spiders THAT small, at least where i live, cant really pierce the skin anyways. i let her know that most spiders are actually pretty harmless because they dont want to be near people either. they are more scared of us than we are of them.
All these spider guys have such trust in their spiders. I would just squeeze the roach through a tiny gap between the lid.
Should definitely get a ob weaver, that would be the icing on the cake 💪
