lol not like that... actually people from the crew of a tv show read all kind of fan-based stuff, it means they're usually reading blogs, tweets and, of course, fanfiction previews to see how the fandom reacts to certain things happening in the show so, since the very beginning of rizzoli and isles, the rizzles ship was a strong thing there was a lot of lesbian stuff and they obviously knew about it and told the cast... they just laugh about it
The fanfiction doesn't make angie harmon the guy it makes jane rizzoli the guy lol.

Sad that in this case it's not the fans that get confused between the actor and the character, but the actor that portrayed the character and the talk show host. Jane is a character that has a very masculine vibe and as such I completely understand where fans are coming from portaying her as the more masculine partner in the fics, but just because she does things like ask Maura out and wears pants and suits in the fics does not make her the 'man'.... it makes her the Jane in the Jane & Maura relationship

As a former Rizzles fanfic author, I felt personally attacked by Angie (that second hand embarrassment showing the fanart though)
Angie, always being the Alpha Personality type, known for heavy drinking and the occasional joint once in awhile, knew how to have fun. She also knew how to exceed in her studies. Seeing this young, innocent, Freshman, Angie's protective and nurturing nature immediately kicked in.
While a little experimental in her earlier college days, Angie had considered herself straight female. But there was something about this Freshman, some kind of spark of electricity, that ignited inside her.
Aand then, Conan slept on the couch for the next week.

i wasnt trying to make it sound offensive. I'm a very big fan of Angie Harmon and Angie is not particularly masculine but Jane is. Her character was created to be that way and it's absolutely fine for a woman to be less feminine than others. I wasnt calling her a man or anything but Jane is a masculine woman.

It's rather simple, even if both of them are gorgeous women. Sasha's character is visibly the more feminine of the two, so Angie's character gets cast in the more masculine role in the relationship.
Frankly, I don't care which is which, because both are beautiful, and the imagination can run wild with them together. It's a pleasant image no matter whose in either role.

i love her voice. its sooo good and its like the same raspyness as katy karrenbauer, a german actress, who has also a brilliant voice and due to the german translation and the voice actor this whole voice thing gets lost which is super sad. i mean i enjoy both german and english but angies voice just makes the show a tiny bit better.

she is a little hottie. look up a "classic" Conan video where he helps a struggling business make a better commercial for his old show. it's a really lame late night furniture commercial (i think), and so he for the old show, he gets in contact with the owner/guy in the lame commercial and takes him to an advertising consultant agency and to make him a better commercial. that's actually where he meets his Wife! she's one of the people working for the company... or so the story goes.
