For me the most memorable music in any computer game... the whole vibe is so trippy and the whole execution was so slick for the time.... absolutely love it.
Russell Lieblich. Remember that first carpet song (at 0:55) from when it was included in Little Computer People. None of the videos on the net seem to have that music play on the record player for some reason. Maybe just luck of the RNG? Really was funny seeing an old man boogie down to that when I was an 8 year old kid. Probably gonna be me when I'm 70, TBH.
Love this game Was adicted the moment it came out. But i was not able to play it to the end It's nice to read the in 2023 this game has still fans. So you see how modern this game was with sound and grafix wenn it came out
The musical tune copy part of the game was quite the challenge to me when I first got my C64 because I had it hooked up to a black and white television! Not impossible but VERY tricky.
Something I found helpful for the flying sequences; Don't aim for the first "ring" that's right in front of you, aim for the one after that. Unfortunately, I was never able to finish this game. I could make it up to where the colors disappear and it was just musical notes, but no further. I don't have a musical ear, so I had absolutely no chance of correctly identifying each note. It was hard enough to remember all the colors on the higher levels.
Interesting how he used sprites for the diamonds until they get too big then they become character gfx, that's what I love about old game hardware! Going around the limitations in creative ways
Anyone else wondering if this is what inspired the dreadful Superman 64 on the Nintendo 64? Can't help but be reminded of it with the flying through rings. Awesome sound in this game though!
For some odd reason, I had to search the net for this game today. Even though I haven't seen it since early 80's, I remember playing it like it was yesterday.
The version given to me as a kid didn’t have the 2nd to last carpet ride song, and when I caught the final genie the game ended with a picture of a crown instead of one last ride and a picture of a palace. Don’t know why there was more than one version of this game for the C64. The rest was the same. Beside, I searched for the video for the music. :)
I remember somehow they used this audio on little computer people project when the person used the record player .But seems differently on other videos ..Must of been a hack for northern western ny , Buffalo/ Toronto area as some one had .
Nope you're right. Absolutely had the same music. Apparently the composer was the same for both, Russell Lieblich. I didn't even know about this carpet game as a kid, and noticed it in the 8-bit guy's review for the c64 mini. Googled to make sure I was remembering correctly, that the music was also in LCP. And yeah, none of the RUclips vids I found seem to have this on the record player.
Playing this game made me well-prepared for the first level of Activision's Aliens. My friend brought it over and said he couldn't get past the first part, the dropship. I loaded it up and easily passed it on the first try. :)
This is the original. It sounds a bit off because the game was coded for NTSC and it's on an emulator. It's the best version, bar none. Nothing else comes close to it.
Without a doubt, the graphical gaming capabilities of the C64 were far superior to those of the Atari XL series, but, the music, I think, sounds a lot better on the Atari, maybe because of the 4 voices instead of 3 of the SID.

As a kid, I had a tradition of playing this every New Year's Eve.
I absolutely how they reused the ring sequence in their Aliens game during the dropship sequence. Even the music is similar.

Came here because randomly had song stuck in my head as happens after uh nearly 40 years huh
Came here for the same reason! 😂
Same thing just happened to me
I almost snapped the handle off my joystick playing this game on those super tight turns.
Love this game

I miss this old game and my C54!
Someone needs to load up unreal and make this for VR. Just using your head to navigate the tunnel.
I loved this Game when i was a Child. The Music is still awesome.

Finally found this game! Tried for years at some intervals find the name out, describe it, but finally :D This was so amazing..
I Wish they would remake this game as it is such a good game with a cool soundtrack.
The music is amazing!
I remember playing this game in 1985 in Juneau AK. USA.
I played it primarily for that wonderful music. :-))
it's 2020 and i'm listening to a game music i listened to 35 years ago.
3x yrs later... never thought i see the ending back then. awesome, thanks.
I always loved the music of this game. The game was on the first cassette tape I ever had for the commodore 64.
Best soundtrack to any C64 game back in the 1980's
Oh-man... It's been years since I've seen this, and the first time I did was sadly also the last. Thank-you so for posting this!
My favourite game ever
brings back memories the song man on man
could never get to the end. finally the ending sequence! :)
I always wanted to think that the creator of this game. had a great trip incredible astral or dream in which he was flying in the outer space.

When they made games like this in the 80s - then I just wonder what the iphone is really for. Has any games been as fun as this on a touch screen ?
Nope... games on touch screens are made for people with little to no attention span and need to be spoon fed incentives.
This music is simply fantastic!
Fuck i played this ..30;years ago..that music
I can't tell you how many times my joystick went flying after I crashed on the C64
thanks for the upload. another game I could get nowhere on. favorite track is #3 with that cool little flutey riff.
beautiful computer game

One of a kind !!!! use to love this as a kid. Great music!

J'adore ce jeux, j'y ai joué sur l'Atari excellent souvenir !!!!!
Iconic game ....
I still have nightmares, in which I leave the diamond and die, great game of my childhood
That final flying carpet stage... YIKES!
I watched this on mates c64 and bought it for my Amstrad. The music is amazing!! Activision did a great job even on the Amstrad version.
I remember somehow they used this audio on little computer people project when the person used the record player .But seems differently on other videos ..Must of been a hack for northern western ny , Buffalo/ Toronto area as some one had .

I used to play this on an old B&W CRT.... :(
I didn't know this game. It may have inspired Magic Carpet in the 90s.
Playing this game made me well-prepared for the first level of Activision's Aliens. My friend brought it over and said he couldn't get past the first part, the dropship. I loaded it up and easily passed it on the first try. :)
They had a few designers on the Aliens game. I wonder who designed the dropship level and made the music for that level??
These were the golden times of good games. Nowadays its boring shit compared to tthat
Que de souvenirs ! :)
Never played this one but it reminds me of Aliens right off the bat
Groovy sound track....try playing it on a black and white telly ....for a challenge....
Im starting to love this game, dunno why maybe because of the magic carpet flight... its sooooo trippin!
Does anybody know what is the backrground story of the game? Whos is the little guy and iping guy, etc.? Maybe an alternate version of Aladdin tale?
This guy has sick skills at MotL. As a kid, I think level 3 or 4 is highest I could get.
Awesome!

What is playing between 0:00 and 0:02
That was bzarre but cool. I got StarFox Vibes
Gut gespielt. Wie hast du dir die letzten Töne gemerkt? Da wurden ja keine Farben mehr angezeigt.
Totally agreed! :)
how do you play master of the lamps? that's the most difficult game ever.
Lsd?
btw these early levels are massively oversteered. eventually you actually do have to swerve that much, but not for the first three.
someone did :) google infinityboost
@MrWrecche Download an emulator and play it ! Goto gb64.com its free !
What?? I was here 9 years ago? How... I don't even have a time machine... oO

music is better on the atari 400 and 800 computer
so sloooooooooow on the C64.....NTSC A8 flies circles around this...
Sheeeit, the atari version is pretty good but this one has better music even with 1 less channel and an actual end sequence.
Better on NTSC c64. :)
