I’m basic on my knitting as well, and it was just this year that I was able too knit in the round so I think that you’re doing wonderfully. I learned to knit when I was 10 and I’m 47 now. At least I finally got there. Hope you’re having a wonderful day.❤❤❤

I've just got done some circular knit pro basix arrive today which look nice. I've currently learnt to long tail cast on and knit stitch continental style. That's as far as I've got 🤣
@@CraftandaCuppa if i were you i would try english style knitting too so you get a feel of both. I just started picking up and learning knitting about 3 months ago. I got a bee in my bonnet about knitting raglan sweaters and so far so good. Ive made a couple already with colourwork. Its really easy once you get the hang of it. Just dont be afraid to drop stitches, youll tense up and do yourself a mischief.

I have such a hate relationship with pom pom making and attaching them to hats 😂 I did see how to make the fluffy fabric ones and they look super easy but again it's sourcing the furry fabric and being motivated to do it 😂😂😂
I love the colors of pink with black. I'm making a cardi with Aran fleck with the same pattern. Loving it so far

Yay! Go you! I decided to learn to knit 3 yrs ago and I’ve made two jumpers😊 I recommend RUclips Very pink knits. Stacy has videos for everything and slow motion ones too.

I have both knit and crocheted for years. You may decide you like the big, straight knitting needles. Or not. They can be good for children to learn on, so don't get rid of them. I 99% of the time use circulars now. They are easier for me, especially when I drop them. Addi Turbo's have been good. Also, the difference between metal and wood/bamboo and which yarn you are using makes a difference. The combo you had for the hat is perhaps why you got a squeeking sound. For sock knitting I like the Chiagoo needles with the fine, red cable and I use a Magic Loop. Currently I have two at a time toe up socks on the needles. No Wonder I am on the Crochet Band Wagon! So much faster and easier! I am making my first Hexi Cardi, then want to make several more of your patterns. Keep up the good work and enjoy your kids during break. I enjoy your check ins!
Thank you! We've had quite a chilled one as one of my kids has been unwell. Not super poorly but a mild fever and just feeling a bit under the weather, so we have been binge watching family friendly Halloween films and it's been really lovely ❤️

I made your hexagon cardigan pattern for a baby! It turned out so cute and worked up so fast, finished it in a day!!!
Well that is just the perfect project isn't it! Gosh I wish I could finish adult ones in a day! Think of how much we could get done 😂 I also love sewing but mainly do that in the summer and I love how you can have a brand new handmade garment in about 3 hours! 😂💓
I'm hoping to pick up knitting and sewing next year. I hate Pom Pom making too 🙈
Yessss pom pom making is the absolute worse 😂 I love sewing. That is my first love actually! I learned to sew in 2011 but then a couple of years later I started a family and as my family grew it got harder to set the sewing machine up. That's why I had a go at knitting and then eventually crochet became my saving light as it was so easy to pick up and put down again in-between being a mum and getting a couple of spare minutes to yourself 😂
Hi Kelly!I have started knitting again too! I highly recommend a RUclips channel called Nimble Needles with Norman, he is an absolute knitting genius! I like him because not only does he make some beautiful knitted items, but he explains the construction of knitting and how to fix dropped stitches. I would love it if you could do a few updates along your knitting journey to help keep me motivated please. I’m on my fifth hexi cardi, absolutely obsessed with them. Love your channel! ❤

I hate making pompoms I got some fluffy ones from amazon that you sew on there on a press stud to remove for washing x😊

@CraftandaCuppa it was especially funny when I made my sons a hat each with a pompom which they said they wouldn't wear 😂 until I pulled it off but both my Grandaughters loved their hats x
But definitely knit your socks concurrently, so say 20 rounds on one, then 20 rounds on the other, as second sock syndrome is definitely a thing lol.
She uses the long tail cast on. (The crazy sock lady) The cuff is knit one purl one, but you can slow her video right down, it’s so super easy then, I’d never knitted ever and I got it. Then the rest of the leg is knit stitch, so it is very mindless knitting. If you taught yourself to crochet you can teach yourself to knit. Good luck!
