In the final interview after his win, Wolfey explained that, he entered this regional to try perish team one last time before the restricted pokemons are back. He said that once the restricted are back, he said this type of team is impossible to win with.
He said that once Generation 10 comes out, there might be new pokemon that would hard counter the perish trap. So he said that this maybe his final perish trap for a long while so he entered this regionals just for this.
It's all Urshifu's fault
@exgardevior Yeah exactly. All of his pokemon has protect to stall perish turns. But those protect is nothing to Urshifu. 😂 Also a strong ghost type like Fluttermane would be an obstacle.
Tbf there already is a Pokémon that hard counters perish, it’s Gholdengo
@thedoomdragon2895 I'm convinced this and grass mons are why he ran duo weather ball, he has encore, a rain mode, and fire coverage in an opposing teams sun mode to send gold packing
Giving his favorites what may be one last ride ❤️
Wolfe is GOATed at getting a disadvantageous board state back to neutral. It's always the thing i notice most when he runs his perish teams

I didn't know 50 minutes of 2 dudes glazing Wolfe was content I needed
When he’s that good it’s not really glazing lol
Wild comment from a wild pfp and username
I mean, both players played amazingly. It was such a good finals with lore and ability
Wolfey playstyle of defense and repositioning and patience is so good with perish trap that’s how he won worlds with counterattack
The craziest thing is that hes also great at aggressive play, like with galarian moltres in sword/shield for example
@@TheEnasalinWolfey himself told multiple times, he’s favorite way to play is Perish Trap, and shown us that multiple times that he is a monster with perish trap
The team itself is just Genius level, it has so many options and the player ability to mitigate the weaknesses is insane, i often can't comprehend how he turns the table, he just understands what actually matters to win the game on a macro and micro level better then most.
Colin is actually spot on. Wolfe said on the Cybertron+Markus podcast that he started making this perish team a long time ago, and he decided to go to Toronto because he had this team that worked well
I've been saying that for years, Jumpluff has the potential to be a top tier pokemon but my friends always laughed it off
People are too obsessed with prankster support mons.
But Jumpluff still has such great role compression.
Def underrated nowadays despite the menace it was back then.
@@RoninofCrimsonMaplepeople really undervalue how being really fast is about on par with prankster, especially since prankster doesn’t work on dark types.
Great Job last weekend.
Edit: This team is very similar to a team he made in his "draft and tournament" stream he did a month ago with all his friends. So he's been cooking this idea up for at least a month
Yeah, I noticed he said in an interview he had been working on it since October, which is around when the auction tournament was
And I noticed as well in previous vids his best way to deal with Polygon 2 is to have his support's stats in such a way that he forces them to download attack rather than spa. And that's what happened every time this set
"Nahh, that shit's classist I need to buy bread"
is one hell of a line
I’m glad Pokémon has been putting our boy on stream during Swiss. Thanks for the reaction, I’m glad a lot of people reacted to these finals so I can see everyone’s strategies🤩😂
He has his hair tattooed on his chest 😂😂😂 great content please do more of these
This was really cool. I've never watched your content before but this was tight. Your commentary over the games was great and the match was amazing.
Keep up the great work!
Thank you for the commentary. It warms my heart still seeing people care about Pokémon.
Was watching this live and it was sooo good. I thought their match on day 1 was going to be the best match of the tournament then they met in the finals.
first time watcher but this was really intresting hope your content takes off!
Genuinely is there any good arguement against Wolfe being the GOAT at this point? I know there is the obvious 3 WC Ray Rizzo but with how long ago/how much more the game has developed since then doesnt that lose some weight?
That coupled with Wolfe being a top 1-10 player the entiire time w 10 regionals seems like hes solidly locked up the goat debate, no?
I'd argue he is, especially considering how volatile the worlds format is making small mistakes or bad matchups cost you the tournament, he also is consistently the best teambuilder seen in vgc creating entire meta games to counter his teams, truly the world champ difference.
@camelnotllama yea teambuilding is a good point!
Nah there isn't any. How long ago was that 3 win in a row even? A decade ago? It's irrelevant

wolfe con perish
... No😢
Never seen this channel before. was this you guys watching it for the first time? Fun watching it back.
Also i wish Pokemon Company would promote their players. They have like the Tom Brady of VGC. GOAT level consistency while also being a pretty great representative of the game. Well spoken, good looking, super inclusive and family friendly vibe.
Wolfe is hands down the best player in the world. Its no wonder that if anyone can make it work, its him
longtime watcher and i really enjoyed your insights on the set! marco played so well despite everything, but politoed truly is just that guy
I actually played against you at Orlando Regional 2023. Ggs you beat me in a 3 game set and the only reason I got a game was from straight cheese in game 2. Cool to see you creating content.
Look at Wolfey's level of focus before every match. Best player in America man.
Wolfe con perish....no
Enjoy you two analysing high level game actually, would like to see that more
Wolfe is the 🐐 shout out to Marco for keeping a bad matchup really close tho
I agree with the guest commentator this format banning legendarys and paradox makes the game so much more interesting
Wolfey!!😃 … Wolfey con perish … no😞
Wolfe has said on his channel that he has been trying to get his 10th regional win. Which is why he is probably taking a break now.
Great commentary from both!
The polytoed hatred is real
I’m only like 2 minutes in but are we acting like Sun teams haven’t been having success? Because Joseph Ugarte alone has won and top cut multiple regionals with 4-5 of the same Pokémon
THE BATTLEROOM IS MY FAVORITE
Colin was my first battle in an official vgc tournament. (I got swept bad)
World Champ Difference babyy
Mainly because he is always the only player in the tournament that brings Perish Trap
Because nobody has the confidence or the hability to do it
There was no countdown for spoilers.
hella good vibe with yall two, just dudes watching some good fuckin pokemon
Great video, could you say "low key" a couple more times next video?
Is this spoilers for next wolfey vid?
I've always loved politoad
What is your mic pointing at? Where is it going? What is its purpose
Insane glazing for the goat
funny stuff as always guys
He is the ultimate flipper man.
Hit it whenever you heard "low-key"

Well and look at the team I wouldn't exactly call it a perish trap team right it's a rain trick room team you could of played those exact mons and done pretty well with out perish some sleeper picks right but wolf saw them as good line ups against the current meta and like the toad might only be there cause water synergy and perish but everything else is there to play a solid strategy and then the annoyance and shock of perish being available at any time
Well, yeah. It's not a hard Perish Trap team. Wolfey likes to have a bunch of different modes in his teams for flexibility. One of the problems facing it is that there's always a Perish Trap axe hanging over your neck.
The floofnis dope as well
brother i need you to take like out of your vocabulary. stellar vid
Wolfey con perish no
Wolfey con perish, no.
he has the world champ difference. end video.
y'all are the goats
Wolf is the best in the world in Pokémon
Not trying to be mean, loved the commentary, but you guys gotta drop "like" from your vocabularies
fun watch
bro capitalised WIN instead of ONLY
Hes the only one who can win with that team because he invented pokemon,he made the move p song,no one can beat him,no one else can use that team ..
Wolfey con perish no xD
World Champion Difference
Whats the befe what politoad lol
You never answered the question, why can only wolfe win with perish?
Because he has the World Champ Difference, clearly.
He has almost a decade of experience with the strategy and his, and nobody else will put in the time and effort to master it since there’s almost always better teams and strats to play.
Actually I still think Ray Rizzo is still the GOAT. I wonder why he lost the motivation to go for the 4th
Washed honestly
A lot of minutes to say he's got the world champ difference
isn't it weird how wolfe has such an impeccable winrate against his friends whenever he's matched against them?
You’ve passed the line between praise and glaze
8===D riders
Perish sucks man...no real n's support this gimmicky non-competitive crap
Nah it's completely fine you are just mad you aren't good at fighting it
Bait used to be believable
It's a playstyle hardest to pilot because most of it is just support with less dmg. Really really hard
L bozo
