    The spiral twisted wire is interesting. I would have guessed that there was some floral foam in there. But it seems like the twisted wire allows for more freedom in where you can place the flowers and greenery. Genius!

    • @FlowerSchool

      It really is an excellent mechanic, Ks80s! It works a lot like floral netting to give you a foam free armature to hold the flowers and foliage in place. It also adds a bit of sparkle to the design and matches the compote as well. Thank you very much for taking the time to join us for this fabulous floral design. We are very happy to host you here and hope that we'll see you again soon. Wishing you a wonderful week and hope all is well with you!

    This is sooo unbelievably beautiful 😍😍😍 I want to create something similar for my wedding centerpieces. Can you tell me how many roses, greens and other flowers I need approximately for such a centerpiece? I find it really hard to appreciate how many I have to buy 😔

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  6 лет назад +1

      I'm glad that you enjoyed this. While I don't have a recipe for this centerpiece, it is possible to count the blossoms and foliages in the photo. Estimating the flowers needed for a design is always challenging. When I have to do 50 centerpieces for an event, I make a sample arrangement first, then count the flowers and foliages used, then place an order for product. If I am making a single design for myself, I always over-buy. This give me extra flowers to enjoy in my home. Enjoy!

    This is so beautiful! I do have a question though which I hope you can answer, that is; does flower food, quick dip or even oasis, chemically react with silver? I have a comport that is silver plated and I am apprehensive. Please could you advise? Many thanks. Lizzie.

      As a general rule we never place floral foam or even plain water into a "precious" or delicate container. We always line the container one or even two protective liners....

    Hi Leanne, I have a compote that is 8 inches wide on pedestal and is 7 inches high.. what would the maximum length and height for an arrangement.. they will be placed on 6 ft tables for a wedding .. thank you Lynne

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  8 лет назад +1

      Hello Lynne! For centerpieces you do not want the height to be taller than your elbow on the table, this way guests can see across the table and carry on a conversation. Correct proportions are 2-3 times the height and width of the container. So you could go as tall as 21" or as wide as 24". Happy Flowering!

      I wish that I could give you an answer. I have hundreds of vases and containers, many of which are very old and I can't remember where they came from. A good source for this kind of container would be Accent Decor. www.accentdecor.com

    how do you keep the dusty miller from wilting?

    • @FlowerSchool
      @FlowerSchool  8 лет назад

      +MaiLife Wilting can be a problem with Duty Miller. In this design we used full stalks of well hydrated foliage placed in water other than foam. Refer to the video "Romantic Tussie Mussie Styled Bridal Bouquet" for additional tips on Dusty Miller care.

      +FlowerSchool Thank you for answering. I was trying to research the best way for a bridal bouquet I am attempting to make in a couple weeks. It's fairly warm in Texas, and I can just see it dying before the end of the day.
