  • Here is Clovis (He is about 2 years 4 months old) my cherryhead conure. He decided to take a bath and invite my mom along. This is the first or second time he bathed without me splashing my fingers in his tub (he likes company when bathing). He gets really into, as you will see.
I tried to get him to talk while recording, but he stayed pretty quiet until the end.
Some birds enjoy being blow dried, if you try this and your bird is scared, don't terrorize them with the hair dryer. I've read bird books saying blowdrying is okay as long as it is done carefully . Also check very very often to make sure birdie isn't getting too hot... use the lowest setting at a safe distance! I used to towel Clovis, but since they do that at the vet, he is not fond of towels wrapped around him. I tried the hairdryer one day and he loved it. I stopped since I thought he was dry enough and he gave me a nibble to keep going. I mostly do this when it is not summer since it can be drafty for him and cool where I live.
Features audio clips of Cake - Sheep Go to Heaven
(I apologize for my sniffling on the audio, got to love allergies)

Now that’s one spoiled conure! I have Flapper who i bought 32 years ago for $35. He was untame wild caught juvenile was my guess open banded when they were still allowing importation and quarantine in California. He’s spent his whole life with me and even though he can be stubborn at times he’s really a charming and happy. He lost his sweetie, 27 y/o severe macaw that I hand reared about 3 years ago and we were both in mourning and still miss her every day💔

Hahaha! Who's the one taking a bath? I love Cherry Head Conures, mine passed away back in 1996. Still miss him a lot. Your Clovis makes the exact same expressions as mine did.

haha. We took care of crow who loved the water and he would do the same thing as Clovis. I'd sit on the toilet which is several feet from where Crash was and you would get splashed so much XD

@deltonpanthers123 Very cute about going potty. Clovis becomes aggressive when he's with my mother. If she is around she becomes his priority. Some birds prefer other people. He adores me the second she's out of sight. I would try reading blogs or Conure books to see ideas what to do.

Mine was aggressive too! I had him for 5 years then sold him. I couldn't take it anymore. VERY aggressive. I would have given him away if someone hadn't bought him.
