Ah this is a beautiful song indeed indeed. The singers have lovely voices but it did nothing for me - the tempo is far too slow, lifeless and maudlin. I have heard many great renditions of the Parting Glass, sadly this is not one of them.
I know this piece inside out having conducted/directed it with small groups (12) and massed choirs (400+) and I must express my dismay that the male section was largely unintelligible due to poor diction and alignment of consonants. The responsibility for that lies with the conductor/musical director. A great shame as I was looking forward to listening.
