Where are the numbers? In 2019, the United States emitted around 5.41 billion metric tons of CO2-equivalent greenhouse gases, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Four Carbon Capture facilities in the U.S. removing 1 Million Metric tons of carbon a year would only eliminate 0.00007414% of the carbon. This is crazy.

they should just grow microalgae!! These studies have shown that microalgae can capture around 100 Gt of CO2 into biomass annually.
Microalgae as a key tool in achieving carbon neutrality for bioproduct production - this 2023 paper says 100 gigatons of c02 per year can be stored by microalgae. Makes sense since that's the main source of fossil fuels.

@voidisyinyangvoidisyinyang885 I don't think that algae is enough. If you try to store that carbon by removing it, the algae will rot and release it all. The better solution is manufacturing building materials in the ocean 1,2www3wwwwww33e 6:15 6:15

@@thegreenxeno9430 BrilliantPlanet founded by Marine Biologist Raffael Jovine, with two Ph.Ds, has already proven they "mummify" the algae in the desert. It's monitored for oxygen so it's aerobic so no methane production from rotting. It's buried just like mummies in the desert. hahaha

We should be removing plastics from the sea. We always get bombarded about CO2 but where is the tipping point when life die off in the oceans happen?
We get 80% of our oxygen from the oceans and that is what needs to be addressed as critical. If the life in the oceans die off then so do we because we will be unable to breathe.

Next time people go to TOGO's for takeout home, tell them to not include plastic forks.

Wouldn't it be easier to just STOP putting CO2 INTO the atmosphere???

If we were to stop putting CO2 into the environment the legacy CO2 already there will keep on heating the planet for a couple of centuries more before dissipating.

do you have ANY fucking clue what will happen if we did that? why dont you google "can human beings survive without Co2" and see what you get. fucking moron.
no trees, no plants, no crops animals, no FOOD, and worst of all - humans would be UNABLE TO BREATH. humanity would go EXTINCT and the planets would become a barren lifeless rock WITHOUT C02
co2 is why we have life on earth - 100% oxygen is POISONOUS.

Maybe start with a system that moves polluted air from where its made to where its returned. Have an infrastructure thats added to an existing infrastructure like storm drains. Add access for factories when needed by pipe and / or truck and collect air from storm drains (where cars and trucks are) to an air tight tank. People can remove carbon anyway they want by the tank or tanker truck. The sight is for collection, distribution, monitering, and facilitates a better than nothing method for exceeded capacity like running it through wet sand or sending it into the ground below the permafrost layer, or moving the air to higher elevations where it can be frozen in ice and stay that way. With all the uncertainty about carbon capture...which method, the cost, if it will work, monitoring pollution levels, etc... we need to have a system that does something better than exhaust pipes chimneys, and smoke stacks while things sort out. The subject is so divided its support wavers. Anybody successfully capturing carbon is charging a kings ransom and holding the world hostage for the service just like every other green tech future prospects. Time is up.

Unrelated but we(humans) could take the seaworld concept or any large scale aquarium. An simply make that setup into a fish farm. So our lineages don't starve. Sincerely-

Exactly we now must do as Ocean is too warm and acidic for normal natural processes like Shell Fish that naturally remove CO2 to form their CACO3 shells

they are called "trees". pretty efficient at capturing carbon seeing as they are 100% carbon.

More trees and more Shell fish would help but to stop using all Fossil fuels now it still will take 300 years and watering 3 trillion trees to restore the earths Natural carbon cycle.

Ethanol used as an additive to petrol gives acetaldehyde, a neurotoxin, as an air pollutant. Carbon dioxide does not pollute the atmosphere.
