- Good morning! It's my actual birthday! After an "eventful" night with skunks and a bad neighbor, Gunther and I start the day anew. Nothing but good food and drink, hammock vibes, and a lakeside bike ride on the agenda. And of course, I have to scoop up some more birthday fast food freebies.
English muffin recipe I used. I made a half batch, and left 3/4 of the dough at home.

Thanks so much! I go back and forth between paid and dispersed. I like having a reserved spot and facilities, but then... people. 😖 So then I'll boondock a couple times, until I get tired of stressing and bringing all my own stuff, and then book a site. Rinse, repeat. 😂 Variety is the spice of life, I guess!

had a surprise this morning, your crane footage brought back up. my pair showed up strutting south across the lawn to the neighbors than across the road down to the swamp for the season.

Im glad Im not the only person who camps alone. In some ways, I love it, cuz I can do and go at my own pace, but I’d also love to have someone with whom to share the experiences. One thing I enjoy about your camping is that you’re pretty adventurous in your approach to camp cooking. I’d never think of trying some of the things you’ve prepared, but for your example.
Yeah, I feel all that. One good thing about camping on RUclips is that I kinda feel like I have friends with me, but can also just shut off the camera when I want to feel truly alone.
Next trip is with friends (actual, in-person humans 😀), so it'll be a nice change of pace to shoot the breeze around the fire and swap ideas.

Boy, Show Low is nice except when there’s a rude obnoxious neighbor. Anyways, the bees were the second creature visitor. I would’ve ran especially Killer Bee looking ones! Hope it was nice even though it was a tad exciting - Gunther is cool as a cucumber. I just had my birthday Starbucks mocha vanilla frappe! Cheers and happy belated!

Here in NY quiet hours are at 10 pm and Park Rangers do a drive by a few times a night so thev behavior of that man would not be allowed. You have the views we have the peace and quiet. I still might trade
AZ State Parks' quiet hours start at 9:00pm, but the campground are managed by hosts, who generally don't do patrols. I'm sure they would have handled it if I went to their site and complained, but it didn't feel safe to leave my vehicle. To be fair, of my entire year of camping, this was the only really bad / kinda scary incident. For the most part, other campers were quiet and respectful.

Haha thanks! Yeah but I'm cool with a month-long celebration this time. 😄 Gunther is pretty tolerant of everything (except the blender), but perhaps a front sling-style carrier might be more comfy for a lil dude.

Glad there were no other issues with your unfriendly neighbor. The bike ride looked fun. Did you get a chance to do any more fishing? I always have luck with a Jake’s lure when fishing for trout. Free food is the best!
While I was making coffee, I could hear all these lunkers jumping and flopping, down in the lake. I really wanted to get down there and throw a line in, but after a night of poor sleep and considering how far way the access path was, I just did not have the energy for it.
I've got a creekside camp coming up in about a week, and hope to give it another shot then. 🤞

Do you worry at all about the car battery?
Not at all 🙂 As long as I am parked, and the engine is off, there is nothing drawing from the car battery. Anything that needs power I have hooked into the EcoFlow.
