One of the reasons I go without my dear wife when out on a bird photography session - minutes turn into hours ! No success this time but maybe next. As always Keith a relaxed and enjoyable video. 👍

Thanks Glenn. Yes it is crazy, I arrive somewhere thinking I have the whole day ahead and then the time just disappears. Standing I in one place for 2 hours doesn’t help 😂.

Hi Keith good to see you I enjoyed watching the frustration of a wildlife photographer lol and there's always that do I stick or twist element. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend.

Thanks Clive and yes stick or twist described the situation perfectly 😂. Stay safe mate.

It's been a while since I've visited Lakenheath and must visit soon. Lovely video again Keith and I really loved the Kingfisher photo, very natural and is how most of us see them.

Thanks Stewart. Yes I can see the appeal in the Kingfisher images rather than just perched on a post outside the hide.

    Good Video Keith,
Some nice bits of wildlife about.
You managed to get a couple of shots of the kingfisher, but it's a shame it never came to that perch. It's a waiting game with them and other wildlife. I was lucky to get a few chance shots of one a few years ago. Nothing brilliant, but it was a start. Hopefully we will both strike lucky at some stage, its just having the patience...🙂👍🏻

Thanks Eddie. It is always a waiting game with wildlife, sometimes we just run out of time 😂. I have a plan for some more Kingfishers in the near future so hopefully I will strike lucky. Good luck with your search too. Cheers Keith

Thanks mate. Yes it is worth a visit you just never know what will appear. The Marsh Harrier never seem to fail to show. Cheers Keith

    Wonderful stuff.
    Love Lakenheath. Special there.
Kingfishers are so frustrating - waited yesterday at a known spot and also heard the splash but only heard it and saw it flying past!! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️.
But you had a great day out. Loved the Chinese Water Deer fawn - outstanding Keith.
And Marsh Harriers and Great White Egrets too. Are the Cranes still around?
And you got the Kingfisher eventually 🎉🎉
Shame about the Bearded Tits but there’s always another day
Have a brilliant weekend mate 👍👍

Thanks Dave. Yes a great place for a mooch around. I didn't see any Cranes this time, there were a few flying by last time I went. I will be back again for the Bearded Tits. You to have a great weekend. Cheers Keith

What always amazes me is how many good locations you seem to have over there!
Great video as usual Keith with lovely photos!
Get yourself a portable speaker or use your phone and play some kingfisher calls when you´re near a good perch and it will come and investigate, they are very territorial, same with the cuckoos =)

Thanks Andy, yes we are lucky to have many good places around the UK.
I have heard that although in the UK with those birds being protected in the UK at breeding times it is considered to be effecting their behaviour and not allowed. Cheers Keith
