Excellent review. I was weed wacking with my string trimmer and a rock hit my leg with a velocity that stung. Had it wacked my face shield (From TR Industrial Home Depot) it may have gone right through it, which is why I always wear safety glasses under any face shield. Having the right safety equipment gives you confidence performing inherently dangerous work. I paid $27 for my TR Industrial face shield/hearing protection/helmet from Home Depot. I'm looking into upgrading. While this basic helmet is adequate for most jobs, the shield itself is a little flimsy.

Thanks. Yes, I completely agree that protecting eyes and ears with high velocity equipment is a smart thing to do. I also like the integrated 3M safety glass because it so well adjustable and easy replaceable. The difference in light throughput of the face shield compared to a plastic one is also remarkably better.
