    Sad that the Mother of all these rockets is missing. The German A4 / V2, a rocket so ahead of its time. It is a direct relative to the Saturn 5 Moon rocket.

      @@ioni2285 I perfectly know how it got its name. 长征。 It is a highly politicized term. Part of CCP propaganda is Long March spirit 长征精神. About how Chinese red army did a 25000 Chinese miles march to escape from enemies , some say strategic translocation. The reason I say it’s a stupid name is it is such a last generation concept. We need a new form of patriotism, the old method had proven itself out of date. Young generations are not buying it. On the other hand, 天宫,嫦娥,玉兔, these names are perfectly named. Although it might symbolize feudalistic society ideology, but it can ring a bell in all Chinese heart, even in the “not caring young people” s heart. It represents the deeply embedded common values among our people given by the long and rich history of Chinese civilization.
      I typed too much nonsense. In short, I think Long March, in term of naming a rocket, is not a good idea for marketing.(very subtle pun indented)

      starship is still just a concept lol. It just isn't an idea that will work. It's also horrible so the FAA and NASA will ground it before it can do anything.

      To be fair I'm not even sure that'll be the case. You saw the Saturn V there, made in the sixties when funding had never been higher. Still the biggest rocket we have made and the 3rd biggest out of the planned ones too. So who knows. Twenty years isnt too long in space flight terms.

      Rocketek no, both Sputnik and Vostok were launched using variants of the R-7 rocket. There were differences between them, but nothing that substantial. In fact, if you removed the spacecraft, the rockets should be almost exactly identical.

      @@iBittz I think you mistaken it with the Falcon Heavy. I've seen only concept drawings of the Starship. Musk and his team changed the size of it many times before they shown any working prototype. Do not overestimate Musk. He is just a greedy billionaire with empty promises.

      Its actually 120 meters tall and the bottom stage (super heavy) has 33 raptor engines in it while the upper stage whi is starship has 6

      @@carholic-sz3qv To give an example of "progress" done by SpaceX, they use a TCP/IP data protocol on fiber to send data throughout their rockets. This "tech" wasn't used by rocket designers before the early 2000's decade and it was more common to use copper cableing of RS-232 data channels or dedicated analog signal wires.
      I could go on about other systems like guidance computers being stuck in the 1980's and other tech that has stagnated. Rocket tech was at a dead end with traditional rocket companies like Boeing and Lockheed-Martin.

Жаль, что на Союз 2 все те же РД-107А/108А, которые отличаются топливом и, возможно сплавами, а не самой конструкцией. Четыре сопла, ради надёжности пожертвовали удельной мощностью, да ещё и ТНА раскручивается при помощи разложения пероксида водорода, лишний бак в ступенях, сложнее расположение баков. Дешёвый, но не идущий в ногу со временем с точки зрения энергетических возможностей
