Well, this reminded me of a supermercado en la Habana. It sucks it uses that form of payment. Using the CUC was fine in my opinion. But hey, I'm not a financial nor economic student. Hope the country's economic state gets better real soon!
That’s true, if you have USD you are good. I barely buy anything now. Hoping that the box our government is planning to send to us arrives soon! I need supplies 😂
Check with your to see if your credit card will work in Cuba. If it’s Euro based then that could be a good trade off. Note that with international cards there’s the usual processing fee per transaction I assume.
I'm starting school I'm September. I have sooo many questions, but I'll just ask a few. 1) What is the dress code like in terms of jewelry, and hair (girls specifically plz) 2) Are all international students required to board on campus, or can they rent an apartment or smthn 3) What items were you allowed to take when going? (I heard some electronics were not allowed) I really enjoyed this vid and hope that you get a chance to respond
Hey! Dress code I’m not aware of anything regarding jewelry and hair. Of course when you’re doing physical exam or washing hands a rule is taking off all jewelry. When you start ELAM yeah you aren’t allowed to rent out but people still do (at their own risk). And there people who have brought electrical kettles and irons with no problem.
@@urboytgd Ok cool. If you ever get a chance to, please show these malls so I can get an idea of what you're talking about. As well as the movie theaters you spoke of. Thanks bro and keep up the good work and study hard!
I don’t believe so. But there are who do. Also you can apply for a local USD card, they call it MLC or moneda libremente convertible. Someone can top up those cards from abroad at select countries.

May be more but I'd like to know the translation of dollars to cuba's money. 15$ for a spices is insane. Plus zero fresh fruit, meat, vegetables. Everything is dried or bagged. Not even frozen stuff. Not the repressive communist government though…. Where’s the trade embargo with Venezuela? things seemed to deteriorate over there according to the socialist plan quite naturally. You see, communist governments want the people to be poor and needy. That way they hold more power over them.

Haven't built an Orthodox Christian Cathedral.... orthodoxy is the original Christian Church and requires a bishop that can trace their ordination back to the apostles
Check out the Orthodox Church. I'm guessing you are evangelical? It might freak you out at first. Our worship of God is very different what you are used to and we treat God's Saints as members of Christ's body and bodily temples of God's Holy Spirit. That means they deserve great respect and agape love. Adoration the highiest form of love and honor is due to Father Son and Holy Spirit of course. Do adore another is damnable. But God's holy ones you are to honor and agape love.

So much pasta, so much prices lol
I went to Cuba once and I liked it as a tourist but, idk about being a student there 😂😂😅😅
The life rough, but what isn’t a sacrifice for a better tomorrow?

:( well if you don’t have a USD card then it’s the same difference lol
Daniel do you know if these cuban dollar stores accept Euros? I would really like to know. Thank you
Unfortunately not. They don’t even accept cash. It’s all in USD (or what cuba calls MLC) on either the local cards or visa/MasterCard to my knowledge.
Check with your to see if your credit card will work in Cuba. If it’s Euro based then that could be a good trade off. Note that with international cards there’s the usual processing fee per transaction I assume.
There’s no additional fee when purchasing with local MLC cards
Ok thank you so much.
Youre welcome!
Prices appear veryn reasonable don't they? Some things are bargin.
Now try and buy that stuff in a salary of $40.00 a month.

Yes there are movie theatres in Cuba! And rent varies from about $35 (in other provinces) to even 200$ and up (in havana).

That is definitely an old conversion you are using. The current exchange as of this reply is 1usd = 75pesos cubanos
Can a tourist use this store?
Sure! You should be able to use your credit card from your country and be fine!

No chicken?
sometimes one store has, sometimes other stores have.
Doesn't look like there's a lot of choice.
differnet stores have different items, thus going to one isnt representative of eveyrthing they have haha
