I'm a woman and I dont see any additional monetary benefits simply because I am a woman. Only benefit is maternity leave which people dont take every year but maybe once or twice in a lifetime. Because women get lesser pay than men and have to pay pink tax on a lot of things as well. Also they have to take career breaks to give birth and nurture the baby. If they lose their job during pregnancy then nobody will be hiring a pregnant woman. Also a baby will always need his/her mother in initial days which can't be taken care of by the father. Then there are a lot of other things like sexual harassment at workplace, layoffs, rough working hours and work life balance which can force anyone to lose the job and not just women. So they marry an earning partner for stability and provide a better future to the kid and to themselves as well. In addition to that women do not get parental property like men and this cuts them off any kind of rental or family business income. whereas a man has all that privilege and can earn up to a stable scale throughout his working life as men do not have to take such breaks. Gender pay gap is not so much between a man and woman than to a working mother vs the rest.

Numbers about salary is just one side of the equation, but what about the contribution made by women ??? Where is your number. I work in a private company, I couldn't find a single female employee who are paid less. In fact they are paid more. To meet diversity quota, many female employee are given promotion that they don't deserve. Men at work take burden, when these women go on 6 month maternity leave. Actually modern Capitalism does discriminate, a female employee is given more weightage than a male employee, everything else being the same, during hiring, because they increase diversity of the work force. Infact even if a male employee is slightly more capable, it is not enough to offset the diversity that a female employee brings to the workforce. And in India specifically, a female will straight up get a built in edge(in the form of points that contribute to a final score for selection) over a male in almost all university applications(talking about MBA specifically, its most probably the same across the board for Post graduate degrees). This is not an opinion but a cold hard fact, and that's not even factoring in the bias that interviewers will have given that most universities are pushing aggressively for a 50/50 gender ratio. It's no secret that women need that boost to compete on equal grounds against men in the current epoch, whether it may have reasoning related to their history as being the oppressed gender or not is irrelevant to the cold hard fact that women in the current day and age face much more relaxed standards than men when it comes to interviews or applications.

In India female employment rate is around only 20% in 2023. Women of our parents generation were more in workforce than "papa ki paris" of today. Most of the women after joining workforce can't keep up with the flow and can't handle the stress. So they simply opt out. (Ofcourse there are exceptions). They will get an arranged marriage and their life is set. If a person is inefficient in their work then ofcourse they will be paid less. I don't know why gender has to do anything with this. Men work more hours and are able to handle the stress. But women can't. Please tell us exactly in which role does the woman get paid less for doing EXACTLY THE SAME WORK. If it really exists then I'm more than happy to support women but simply asking money which people don't deserve is childish to say the least.

No 2 - When men earn he earn for his family to sustain entire family to look after their needs, to give his wife whatever she wants for shopping or dinner, but when a women earns she earn for herself and mostly do not bear financial responsibility for family. No 03 - In India we do not worship money we worship almighty and his creations, it's duty of everyone to be a good father who can provide and a good mother who can nurture. I am not sure if there any analysis done on hours spend, pay based on years of experience and position hired for etc. As an professional who has worked in IT and banking sector for 17 yrs, we do not pay based on gender but on position. Infact some of the roles are reserved for women to ensure proper representation while other roles are open to all genders. Women are equally respected in the organizations i have worked. She returns is a positive movement in various organizations for women who had a career break for 3-4 yrs to join back to work. Men however are not respected when they take a break even for personal reason and expected to work upto retirement. We need representations now in media for all genders. Women are not paid as much as men because men are more productive and creative, men keep the train and world running and men are willing to work extra hours. So in that sense men are more valuable, resourceful in a company. If women were equally valuable as men, why companies haven’t hired only women to increase profit?

I agree, where the societal expectation of a women is to look after the household, men also have a pressure to be the primary provider regardless of the fact wether the women is working or not and this needs to be corrected. If a woman is working she should have help with the household work from her partner but she should also contribute equally to the daily and necessary expenses just like her partner. Maybe if we divide a roles equally between the two, then there can be some equality. Now, bringing up a child should be the responsibility of both but then again women exclusively go through pregnancy and breastfeeding so they have to take leave from work but that's just biological. So there can never be complete equality but atleast it can be improved greatly.
This pay gap idea is such a drama which is created just to bring fame and media to talk only about women issues. I have met and worked with brilliant women who are scientists and they only focus on their work and output. They don't cater to this drama that the western team and now Ms. Palki is creating!! A physically fit woman would also be more capable than an unfit man. But we are talking not about fat or thin, but physically fit to do manual work. Bending ; stooping, reaching etc. There is still a lot of this in agriculture. Bear in mind in many cases men are doing this work since childhood and this equates to a level of fitness. Because women get lesser pay than men and have to pay pink tax on a lot of things as well. Also they have to take career breaks to give birth and nurture the baby. If they lose their job during pregnancy then nobody will be hiring a pregnant woman. Also a baby will always need his/her mother in initial days which can't be taken care of by the father. Then there are a lot of other things like sexual harassment at workplace, layoffs, rough working hours and work life balance which can force anyone to lose the job and not just women.
So they marry an earning partner for stability and provide a better future to the kid and to themselves as well.
In addition to that women do not get parental property like men and this cuts them off any kind of rental or family business income.

Capitalism does not discriminate. Put in more hours, bring in more revenue and see your compensation increase exponentially irrespective of your gender, religion, ethnicity.
Actually modern Capitalism does discriminate, a female employee is given more weightage than a male employee, everything else being the same, during hiring, because they increase diversity of the work force. Infact even if a male employee is slightly more capable, it is not enough to offset the diversity that a female employee brings to the workforce.
And in India specifically, a female will straight up get a built in edge(in the form of points that contribute to a final score for selection) over a male in almost all university applications(talking about MBA specifically, its most probably the same across the board for Post graduate degrees). This is not an opinion but a cold hard fact, and that's not even factoring in the bias that interviewers will have given that most universities are pushing aggressively for a 50/50 gender ratio. It's no secret that women need that boost to compete on equal grounds against men in the current epoch, whether it may have reasoning related to their history as being the oppressed gender or not is irrelevant to the cold hard fact that women in the current day and age face much more relaxed standards than men when it comes to interviews or applications.

1. Pressure given to a man at work and the lenience shown towards women - Nobody dares to pressurize a women at work because they know that women will have to multi task no matter what

I am not sure if there any analysis done on hours spend, pay based on years of experience and position hired for etc. As an professional who has worked in IT and banking sector for 17 yrs, we do not pay based on gender but on position. Infact some of the roles are reserved for women to ensure proper representation while other roles are open to all genders. Women are equally respected in the organizations i have worked. She returns is a positive movement in various organizations for women who had a career break for 3-4 yrs to join back to work. Men however are not respected when they take a break even for personal reason and expected to work upto retirement. We need representations now in media for all genders. Asking your colleagues to work more on behalf of you and employer to pay more for your "care at home" is so unfair and stupid. Then remaining salary should be the salary taken for comparison.
I agree, where the societal expectation of a women is to look after the household, men also have a pressure to be the primary provider regardless of the fact wether the women is working or not and this needs to be corrected. If a woman is working she should have help with the household work from her partner but she should also contribute equally to the daily and necessary expenses just like her partner. Maybe if we divide a roles equally between the two, then there can be some equality. This pay gap idea is such a drama which is created just to bring fame and media to talk only about women issues. I have met and worked with brilliant women who are scientists and they only focus on their work and output. They don't cater to this drama that the western team and now Ms. Palki is creating!! Many of the women in schools who have common sense works with focus and gives outputs. They don't go the easy road of complaining and whinning. They earn their respect from the society through their hard work. This is what being a women means - to be special and to lead the way in matters which men don't understand. If you want equal pay and equal rights, then also work hard for it. Forego all the reservations and concessions - women are being provided with in India, give up your seat in a bus or metro when a man requests it, stay late for meetings, productions, stand at borders, go for 24/7 working as security and many more. There are many women in Indian villages who do all the above mentioned things and are happy with their lives. They lead families and act as an acnhor during tough times. They don't act like babies or whine like them to get their rights or money. Summarizing - Women should work more to get paid more!! Same happens for men and same should happen for women.
Oh and by the way. In agriculture a FIT man is a hell of a lot more capable than even a fit woman. And extraordinarily more capable than an unfit woman.
A physically fit woman would also be more capable than an unfit man.
But we are talking not about fat or thin, but physically fit to do manual work. Bending ; stooping, reaching etc. There is still a lot of this in agriculture.
Bear in mind in many cases men are doing this work since childhood and this equates to a level of fitness.

Interestingly perhaps, in my opinion young men in the western world are losing any interest in farming. Farmers are getting older and older.

when a building is burning let the men and children get rescued first and women should stay behind. when a manager is shouting at employees for not meeting targets he should curse women employees too not just men. when a women beats up a cab driver in the middle of the road without any reason or fault just because she can she should be put in jail. when women are preferred to get hired for a receptionist or a cabin crew in flights they should let go of the opportunity and ask to hire 50% men. when getting a divorce women should say I don't want a single dime cause these are modern times and society has changed. when women get special quotas, benefits and perks they should let it go cause men don't get all those benefits.

For pay parity, every field should have 50-50 split. Or else it’s impossible. If I choose investment banking I get more money than being an accountant. Is that pay gap? It’s idiotic to thing such. A woman and man get paid the same for same job. For example, if more women chose to be accountant and more men to be Investment banker, obviously avg men will earn more than women. The primary objective of a company is to make profit and if they were getting the same work done for lesser pay, companies would hire only women if gender pay gap was real.
Also, paying unequally based on gender is illegal in most western countries and India. If gender pay gap was real, those women could just sue those companies for a fat payout.

I'm a man and in college. Due to people spreading lies like this, you don't know how much harm it causes to normal men. During hiring process most of the companies hire women even if she has less skills than men. Anyone who has attended company interviews in college knows what I'm talking about. And those women will just leave the work after 2-4 years because they can't handle the work. Those vacancies will be filled again by new women and this cycle goes on.
Not just in college but in many places there is an irrational bias towards women just because they are women. In India this is increasing rapidly day by day.

Society's expectation of Women raising a child is not completely wrong. A mother has a greater influence on child and stringing the family together with love and respect. Society is moving forward and hopefully gender disparities might end but Man and Women can never be same or equal. It must be based on merit and competency.

those r correct but we also know that working more dosnt mean working efficiently ( seen in case of japan ). I think this has to do with the rigidity of the working environment . so more than fighting against men , its better that companies make the work times flexibal giving employees target based works so that they can do it remotely and more effectively and call them once or twice to office a week . but yes this is also a problem .
