Certainly that putt well off the green on the first hole today by Bernie was very well done; and even more lucky. If you are even an average wedge player you’ll get it closer far more often than not. Very important part of the game the short one.
Dan I believe you will find clubs can only make GUR mandatory if they make the area a ‘No Play Zone’ in Abnormal Course Conditions or in a Penalty Area see Rule 16
With regard to GUR : If the ground is truly under repair (I'm aware that this is not always the case) surely you should always take relief whether you like it or not...? I always assumed that the signage was to protect the condition of the course rather than to make life easier for players. On the other hand I am extremely thick so I could have misunderstood things completely.
I assume you are trying to increase views with these titles but they seem a bit silly to me. I have no idea what tee shot the title references and I am not even sure it was discussed in the video.
