Man, I love your positive outlook on trucking! I’m trying to buy a cash truck now myself! I’ve now done lease purchase 3x and it’s NOT for people that want to be home sometimes! When you don’t have a truck note, it’s a lot less stressful when you’re at home enjoying your family.
Be careful bro the diesel as gas stations isn’t the same type of diesel at truck stops unless they have a whole separate diesel section for truckers to pump diesel over at.

That's scary, $434/day is what i made as a company driver before the slow down, now us bottom senority guys are getting pushed out waiting for runs (on- call). Really wanted to jump on as owner operator for Amazon but after seeing this i don't think that's an option for me, thanks for the honest numbers.

@@Reneshia for the empty trailers you should be able to manually input it. As well as the preloaded empties. Don't let the van locations take advantage of you and tell you to wait. When they tell me that I usually look for an empty down the way or a preloaded. If there isn't any click that no trailer option so they can update the app sooner then waiting until departure. I been doing things alot earlier then waiting. And I don't waste my time dealing with the people at the van locations. They tried to me the other day trying making me move extra trailers. I hooked my empty and ✌️
Is there any reason why you aren't working for other brokers/shippers? Amazon and Schneider are BOTTOM OF THE BARREL when it comes to pay. As a matter of fact, they are borderline DISRESPECTFUL. Heck, I won't start my truck for less than $250, I don't care how much it comes out to per mile.
Every other carrier have done the weight is too heavy for what it's paying. Amazon is working out for me at this time. Im meeting my goals. Everyone has there preference. But I do plan on getting into agriculture. I'm trying to stay local I like being home

Yes. They always have less miles. I would start with day cab. Run the load board until your rating is up and do the 13 hr contracts local and grow from there. There is enough net to grow from the 13hr contracts
Would you be interested in bringing on a OTR team truck who is fully trained in amazon relay backwards and forward? We usually run around 10 to 15k a week to the truck in amazon ONLY work. Just wanting to get a new authority working fast. I have my own authority, insurance, fuel card, toll equipment etc etc. If your interested let me know and we will begin a dialog.
Man those are absolutely awful numbers. You should be grossing no less than 900 a day. Not sure what you think your costs are but they’re probably about what you’re making. This is insane.
Very awful as a rookie driver new authority. But I'm surviving and I'm still here. Can't say the same for others. Ive had my CDL for 9 months and my authority for 7 months. I learned all this on my own
Great information bro thank you so much for the knowledge I'm owner operator with my own authority and I own the reefer trailer all my equipment is paid off right now the spot Market is pretty bad thinking about doing power only my two questions are how much do you pay for insurance per month and are you allowed to take off whenever you want or do you have to run a certain amount of those per week with Amazon
To do the contract you have to have a 90 percent rating or above. In other words you have to do the bs spot market on the relay load board to get the rating. My insurance is 1100-1200 month. I don't think owning a trailer with today's rate is the move right now thats why I stick with Amazon. It's drop and hook and light weight. For example I completed last week contract 5 days 13 hr shifts under 2000 miles total. Gross 3700 net 2500 fuel 1300 for week. Average weight was under 10,000 lbs. 3 days were under 5 k lbs. That's what I did last week with Amazon
Also the contract are by the dates. When you pick up a contract it's for a week . They will come out with the time the week before of your shift pretty much. The day of 12 hrs prior to your start. The route as to where to picking up an empty or load comes out. You will find out that day how many miles your doing how many drop and hooks and direction you headed to plan head. Might even get lucky to do a long shift in town. You don't get penalized for finishing early. Amazon loves early on time delivery. You choose whether you want to pick up contract and you can reject a day but it will hurt ur score a little bit.

If you have multiple trucks that the fastest way to make the most. If you have one truck then you want to be the only driver until you work towards getting a few trucks.

Yes you can. You have to add new driver in the app. It gives them separate access to only be able to see the loads/trips you book them. I would not plan on hiring drivers until you get access to contracts. The load board at this time is not stable
Amazon is light local no elds theres money here but you have to run. amazon is cheap but consistent learn the spot market know good area avoid long hauls stay local you cant lose.

You should consider getting a fuel card the discounts are very helpful. Sometimes savings is 80 cents per gallon.

$200 to $300 I not taking it unless it’s going 50 miles or less

Yes. Using up about 120-140 gallons every 2 -3 days.
I only haul 5 days a week.

I haven't hauled 40k since I first started doesn't make any since if you can get same or better rate with Amazon and haul less miles and less weight

I bought a brand new truck and do amazon only i would save up and just go all in and no worry about maintence
