Weird thing. I stopped getting scam calls after I turned my internet off on my laptop. And to me that's no shocker, I'm a programmer and very familiar with Java script, C++ and C sharp. So to me, if any scammer tries to connect to any of my software I would send them a little love letter and a free computer virus for trying to access my computer. As if late though I rarely get scam calls which kinda kills the purpose of having my laptop set up in a way to defend against hackers but what do I know, honestly my worry is that these scammers will have better software to attack unsuspecting victims over time. Stay safe out there people.
I had a call from someone claiming to be from Amazon yesterday telling me someone had hacked my account and I should download the Anydesk app. They were so convincing as they knew all about my account and there was an item in my basket that kept re appearing every time I removed it. They said by using this app they could find out where the hacker was based and block them. I did download the app but luckily came to my senses before I clicked on accept. They get you in a panicked state so you are easily manipulated.

My mom got a call from these people, this was when amazon said they were charging people 80 euro per year. She got a call and told her to install any desk she wasn't sure how to use it so she got me to help. Once I opened the app it asked for a address which immediately caught me off guard so I hung up and the guy called us 4 times through different numbers, so we blocked it. We then uninstalled the app.

Same thing happened to me. Was supposed to be a refund for a dyson vacuum from ebay. They got into my Amazon PayPal cashapp and eBay Idk what to do with phone it's been flashing off and o. When I tried to see messages on messenger. I called bank and it just happened Friday

AnyDesk itself is as safe as any remote support software. It is up to the individual user to know how to assess the risk of anything they download and install. If you are not prepared to responsibly and clearly disclose issues, you should consider not posting about them. To repeat, in short, AnyDesk is not a scam.

Basically yesterday some scumbag gained access to my amazon account putting 2 expensive phone on the basket, then they phoned me claiming to be customer service from amazon and that the purchase was made already, and to refund me the 2000 pounds I needed to download "any desk "and "wwise" wich I did because I was in a panic and when I panic my brain freezes, so in a few words I gave them access to my phone and online banking and they were about to transfer 2000 pounds into their account they only needed my 3 digit security code from my card. at that point finally a bell rang on my brain and I stopped it on time, I've cancelled my amazon account, cancelled my card and everything, it was so unreal they were basically using my phone from their place probably India like a ghost was using it, too bad.

This happened to my cousin. On Anydesk they asked her to open Cash app, then proceeded to transfer then withdrawal funds thru her bank! It finally hit her when they asked her to purchase a Target gift card, at this point she hung up, blocked them (they keep calling under unknown #’s) contacted her bank was advised add’l $1100 was deposited into her checking. It’s been over 1 month $ still sitting there. Told her to be careful there’s too many desperate money hungry people out there!!!

I called what I thought was Amazon tech support based off a Google search and this man picked up and it was the first time I was calling Amazon without getting an answering machine at first. Mind you I was calling in regards to a package that was not yet delivered to my address to spite Amazon saying it had done so with the address and everything checking out as correct, upon answering the phone and telling him about my grievance the man then claimed that I had an unauthorized login from Dayton, Ohio (I live in North Carolina) this man does not have my email address, nor any other account information outside of my phone number which I don't really use on my Amazon account. This just immediately starts telling me to use any desk immediately based off my IP address being cloned despite the fact that there was no evidence from anyone else that that had been the case. I later decided to just hang up and call my bank to see other options, the man then called back using a different number and claiming to be a different person trying to persuade me to download anydesk. I'm pretty sure these guys were just goobers trying to scam me so I would just ignore and if you're having problem with Amazon just emailed the support group instead agora directly on the website to get the correct number.
Very real warning to pay attention to...but not because of the use of Anydesk. There are hundreds of apps and even built in options that can be used with the same result. Scammers move around between these different programs or apps over time. TeamViewer was the leading program for scammers a few years ago. I remember VNC was one used a long time ago.

There's a good chance if it was still installed and was setup correctly then yes they can still access your device. The phone call is not required by anydesk the phone call was only to be able to talk to someone to either gain information or exploit someone probably into downloading & installing Anydesk

No the way to stop the scam is delete the app and hang the phone, then go to the bank and say to block the scammers number from getting money from your account then call then like 2 times at home and say the same thing and then done easy peasy
If you suspect anything don't install the application if you already have make sure to remove / uninstall it then check for any vulnerabilities o your system (changes to your system that may allow unauthorised access to your device)
I got a call supposing to be from Canon as I was expecting, they asked me to download Anydesk to my pc which I did, but I soon became suspicious after giving the scammer the code, but when it came to the screen requesting access to my pc I declined and disconnected from the internet and the removed the anydesk software and ran a virus check, will I be ok that I declined the connection ?

Most cases anydesk is required to be installed on your device. That dosent mean they didn't open another back door (find another way) if they already had access to your device they could have installed or created other ways to connect and use the device remotely. Please take extreme caution when using a remote desktop connection especially if you don't know (or trust) the connecting user

Change security settings to require permission for external devices to connect, disconnect from any devices you don't recognize. Change passwords for amazon, bank, and any social media accounts that you use on your phone.
I didn't download anydesk software yet but created an account in that. I can Google and log in whenever I want to, right ? Also, because I gave that 9 digit # also, can they hack my laptop ? Pls. advise.

@@nellya2398 because I never actually logged into my bank account, luckily nothing has happened. After the call, I immediately called my bank to put a hold on my account and also changed my bank account passwords. I am however receiving weird phone calls and text messages. One said that my Amazon prime account expired because the payment didn’t go through. But the Amazon prime account that I use isn’t even associated with my email or phone number (it’s a family account). So definitely be careful of weird emails, phone calls, or texts. Don’t click on any links.
I got a call today and was almost one step away from getting scammed. They had full access to my laptop but when they asked me to fill out the form that involved sharing bank account details. I didnt even start the form n quickly disconnected the session .Thank goodness , but since midday ,I have been clinged on to the youtube videos just to make sure if laptop is safe to be used
The sad and also funny thing about all this is rhat these scammers have given me a slight prejudice against people with indian accents. Normally they get you to go to a local store and buy a bunch of gift cards, they then ask you to scratch the cards and send them the codes.

Change security settings to require permission for external devices to connect, disconnect from any devices you don't recognize. Change passwords for amazon, bank, and any social media accounts that you use on your phone.
Yeah, same :| I gave him the code but denied access because I knew it was suspicious asf at that point.

This happened to me and I clicked "cancel." They still have the 9 digit number though.

Same with me this indian dude said to there was 3 locations across the world that were signed into my instagram account. But once he asked for my address code on any desk I hung up and called 911 immediately 😂😂

@@nellya2398 because I never actually logged into my bank account, luckily nothing has happened. After the call, I immediately called my bank to put a hold on my account and also changed my bank account passwords. I am however receiving weird phone calls and text messages. One said that my Amazon prime account expired because the payment didn’t go through. But the Amazon prime account that I use isn’t even associated with my email or phone number (it’s a family account). So definitely be careful of weird emails, phone calls, or texts. Don’t click on any links.
I guess they ask you to download the app and share the code to access your full device. Of course they ask you for permissions.

I got a call today and was almost one step away from getting scammed. They had full access to my laptop but when they asked me to fill out the form that involved sharing bank account details. I didnt even start the form n quickly disconnected the session .Thank goodness , but since midday ,I have been clinged on to the youtube videos just to make sure if laptop is safe to be used

I just got a call lol I love hearing "Hello, this is Amazon" and gives no information and no one knows why you're calling.
The sad and also funny thing about all this is rhat these scammers have given me a slight prejudice against people with indian accents. I already hate their accent but thats not a big deal i hate Boston accents too lol but i always feel skeptical now anytime i get a call from an indian person even if they are legit. I am of course sorra joking because i know Indians are just people and scammers just happen to he a common issue in india to to corruption there but it is still interesting to me that its had that impact on me because i have absolutely no prejudice against any human being outside of them and irs cause of these scumbags lol

Just this morning tbis happened to me. I gave them access n everything luckily I had no money for them to take. Ended up deleting the app an changing all my passwords. I called them back about 12 times an each time asked if they were a support for different websites and every time they said yes. So I called em out and they just got silent and hung up. I eventually called them an asked if it was the scam support and dildo support n they got pissed and hung up

@@D_rose thank you! My Facebook was hacked and so they called me pretending to be Facebook support wanting to chat about my hacked account. 😩😭and I stupidly fell for it. They took $299 from my Venmo but I’ve deleted the app, changed passwords.. I’m just paranoid now.
