So in the same year we have the guy who wrote 'Hangover III' write/create 'Chernobyl', and the guy who directed 'Hangover III' write and direct 'Joker'! Awesome!!! more of that please!
I think literally EVERYONE can relate to the Joker one way or another, specially cuz everyone has felt alone at some point of their life and this movie is all about being alone, its not like we are all psychos
Sounded exactly like him. Kinda scared the shit out of me when it brought me back to the first time I heard Heath laugh as the joker. There's so much evil and chaos in that laugh that it crawls under my skin a bit.
Some of the critic reviews shock me lol, there was one that commented on how the film wasn't fun. I knew it would be divisive but i feel like theres a weird hate train from some of the critics
I agree. There's a majority of critics that spend too much time contradicting themselves and don't see the real picture when it comes to the style of film they watch.
That's the liberal media for you. They hate the fact that a film could show a villain and a white man as sympathetic. But they praise Harley Quinn movie
mark garcia Nice, I didn’t know that this woman was a little bit of a comedy. I believe that’s great for the joker franchise which is always action drama oriented. From what it looks like Todd Phillips did a great job
MrEverisforever I really hope there isn’t a sequel and it should be left as it is. However, maybe this movie can set up a new era of DC films maybe including Matt Reeves upcoming Batman project.
FrostBite Pokin I can understand but maybe when Matt Reeves Batman trilogy comes out the Joaquin could come back as the Joker and introduce the Red Hood storyline.
Loved it, but a sequel wouldn't even work, just by the fact alone that Phoenix has said that he wouldn't be on board if there was a sequel, he just doesn't do sequels, period. Also, this movie works precisely because its THE origin story, the fact that we see how he slowly goes insane, makes it awesome, that being said, a sequel wouldn't even come close to be as good as this one is. Not to mention, if they make sequels then its gona start falling into the same superhero movie cliche, with sequels, spinoffs, universes and all that shit, let this be its own unique thing, make it literally ONE OF A KIND. Hopefully they start taking note on this and start making more movies like this, but no sequels
1. Blade (1998) 2. Spider-Man (2002) 3. Batman Begins (2005) 4. Iron Man (2008) 5. The Incredible Hulk (2008) 6. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) 7. Thor (2011) 8. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) 9. Man Of Steel (2013) 10. Wonder Woman (2017) 11. Aquaman (2018) 12. Shazam (2019) 12 comic book character origin movies since 98’ and John says @ 1:12 & 3:55 that the Joker (2019) is a better origin movie than all of those I listed. Very interesting. Perhaps what sets this movie apart is that it’s about the Villain.
The difference between Joaquin's and Heath's Joker is this: Joaquin Joker tell of the origin of the Joker. Heath Joker is a more developed Joker. Personally, I think Joaquin Joker is the best
Joaquin Phoenix Joker is not the best Joker because he wasn't even the Joker until the very end of the film this was a movie about Arthur Fleck not Joker if we're going by the definition of Joker the best Joker would go to Heath Ledger.
As much as I loved Ledger he didn't have to carry an entire movie. Phoenix was in every single shot in the 2 hour movie.....went way beyond the call of duty considering what he did to his body to get this performance even more enhanced. It was insane what he did in this movie. I loved Ledger to pieces but Phoenix killed it here for the whole 2 hours not just a few scenes.
I am not talking about the story I am talking about performances and the jobs both actors had to do. I have seen the dark knight and its epic. I just think Phoenix should be given credit for the AMOUNT of work he had to do for this role as Joker.
Amazing. I’ve seen it twice and now it just feels like a diss to every other comic film and especially a huge diss to Batman hahaah, like seriously, it makes you look at batman like a really spoiled brat who is actually as insane or even crazier than the Joker to wear that bat outfit
Arthur(joker)"you ask me What are my thoughts..... .....All i have are Bad Thoughts!!" Me"Arthur, i relate with You too!!" This movie was so good i saw it 2xx😍😘🤗🤩
3:21 I’m exactly the same. Like when it snows and the world comes to a standstill. It’s like nature reminding us who’s in charge and we can never escape it. I find that comforting though.
I felt like I was the only one laughing in my theater... The cinematography and dark tone of the movie was excellent! I wish new Batman movies would take place after this film!
I've seen it last night and oh boy...it stayed with me since then...can't stop thinkin about it. There was that scene near the end ( you will know what) all my hair on may hands was raised and I was paralysed in the chair...wow..Bravo 👏👏👏
Enjoy being crazy, buddy. Great ending Joker laugh! Can't wait to hear more. Love ya, dude. I suffer from crazy, too. And there's nothing wrong with that. Kanpai
I was the only one that busted out laughing when joker said “ well they couldn’t catch a tune”. And he did that fucking dance afterwardS and And when he bashed that guys skull, LMAOOOO
DC said they’re gonna have two movie universes. The DCU which has the Jared Letto joker, suicide squad, etc. And the DC Dark universe, which will focus on stand-alone films with their comic characters. And that first movie is Joker.
DC always wanted to be more adult themed and darker but people complained about it. They failed at times to others opinion but it was a stepping stone. I am happy i defended them since the beginning.
Hey John My Name Is Alfred I Loved Joker Saw It 3 Times At The Moviehouse And Eatery Where I Work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Thought The Movie Was Amazing The Origin Story Was Great And Joaquin Phoenix Did A Phenomenal Job As Arthur Fleck The Joker And Loved The 80"s Vibe Of Gotham City:)
People mention Taxi Driver a lot, but have you ever watched the indie horror movie May? the slow fall into madness is very resembing! And you keep on feeling sorry for her..
I agree that it was a great movie. But I don’t think we need a ‘which Joker was better’ debate. Let’s just say they were both amazing and both will stand the test of time for completely different reasons.
Oh no this guy likes the Joker, guys grab your wife and kids and run for your life, you are about to be shot. For real though I fucking loved this movie. It has a hint of American Psycho to it which is also one of my all time favorite films.
Ehhh that might just stop with birds of prey..... I'm not hating I love DC but I said it from the beginning when it was announced they were filming it, that it was a complete waste of time, money and a big step backwards if they did. And they did it. Then the trailer drops. And looks like a direct sequel to suicide squad. Not good DC not good at all.........
Marvel are seriously ott with CGI so it takes away any realism, it isn't cinema. Joker was spot on. It was far better than I expected which is a first for any film for me. I like how dark it was, very dark.
Amber face when John is relating to Psycho's 😂
If there was every anything to be worried about it’s John’s love of Patrick Bateman, Lou Bloom and the Joker
Films like ‘Joker’ are the reason why cinema exists.
Edit: Not to discredit any of the film's influences.
Also Taxi Driver. You know, the movie Joker kind of ripped off.
Films like 'Joker' are the reason why incels go to the movies.
Hahhahhahah
"One ticket to Joker Pls. Yes just for Me"

i loved Joker, Joaquin gave the best performance of his career
I love how amber looks at John
I noticed that too; really sweet.

Igotboomed: Relaxing To Gameplay : I'm more intruged by how Amber looks Like John..
That childrens hospital scene made me laugh pretty hard xDD especially his reaction to the kids afterward
I laughed during this movie, maybe more than I should've.... I love dark comedy.
@@theFLICKpick I didn't laugh at all during this movie😂
Jordan Venning this just shows how sane you are
THE FLICK PICK you should make one🤣
You are not alone john!! There was definitely some dark comedy going on, the midget reaching for the chain lock was funny too
So in the same year we have the guy who wrote 'Hangover III' write/create 'Chernobyl', and the guy who directed 'Hangover III' write and direct 'Joker'! Awesome!!! more of that please!
Maybe Hangover III is a secret masterpiece we are all blind to 😂
I just noticed, Amber looks like Kara from Detroit: Become Human
Ha, she does!
Haha I see some similarities
Like, a lot.
I'd like them to go this route with the Villains.A Scarecrow movie would be dope.
Premi I fully agree !!! :)
Your Joker laugh was on point dude. You should definitely be the joker in a fan film.
I think literally EVERYONE can relate to the Joker one way or another, specially cuz everyone has felt alone at some point of their life and this movie is all about being alone, its not like we are all psychos
That laugh at the end sounds just like Joaquin Phoenix
Sounded exactly like him. Kinda scared the shit out of me when it brought me back to the first time I heard Heath laugh as the joker. There's so much evil and chaos in that laugh that it crawls under my skin a bit.
Joker is a masterpiece. DC please go this way a Dark Cinematic Universe.
we need more this kind of real world problem movies.
Your joker laugh is a little too good John

leonthesleepy I think it’s something to do with how the movie promotes violence Bc the main character is the joker ....
leonthesleepy which is very stupid
@@jamesarmstrong5903 but the same people are loving the Harley Quinn trailer lol
This was incredible...
DC baby! Makes me love the Joker even more, if that was even possible.
I absolutely adored this movie. It's one of my all time favorites now.
I love these videos of Amber staring at John as he reviews movies
That laugh was spot on!! 😂😂
This movie is what makes movies so incredible, it is an amazing work of art and i fucking loved it !!!
#wardogs is always forgotten about and I believe that’s where Todd Phillips really grew as a #filmmaker💯
GREENLIGHT From Dreamer to Filmmaker : Partly cuz it was still a comedy rather than drama. I loved both regardless

This makes me feel good about the movie. And side note. Love how you two dressed too pay homage to the main character.
