That suit was KEY to this film. It really made the creature feel present in a way that's still hard to do with CG. I don't think the chemistry with Eliza would have been the same if Sally had to bounce off of a guy in a silly mo-cap suit or emote at a tennis ball suspended on a green screen.

Del Toro is an absolute genius. This movie is a tour de force. I can't recommend it enough. Every aspect of this movie has been perfectly executed down to the tiniest detail. Absolutely breathtaking.

I saw this movie twice. The first time with actor Doug Jones that plays the amphibious creature in the film. It's such a beautiful production on all fronts and when you consider how much money was budgeted, GDT really knocked it out of the park!
The make up artist did a phenomenal job with the costume. I totally felt like I was seeing a real merman. The merman is hot lol his eyes always got me. I'm a sucker for colored eyes and his body is incredible . I loved this movie such great characters. The main characters didn't talk and yet they made this movie loving, exciting and interesting. Now that's impressive. Bravo to them and all the actors/actresses who were apart of this movie. 💗
