      Hey, heres some After Effects tips that might help someone out.
      Another reason the camera might not be working on the 3D footage layer is that the viewport has been switched away from Active Camera to Front or Left or Right etc. Switching it back to Active Camera should fix it.
      An alternative for setting the layers output (instead of Ctrl + Shift + D then deleting the new layer), press ALT + ] which does the action in one move.
      Cheers for the video man.

    You should do with other filmmakers' style. This was pretty useful for narrative filmmaker like myself. Thanks.

    Wonderful tutorial. Super clear! Thank you.
    I want to ask why you add the "swoosh of air" sound effect in your catch zoom at 0:15? You showed us multiple examples from Quentin Tarantino, and I've watched1000 Kung Fu movies, and I don't hear a "swoosh of air" sound effect during a crash zoom. Why add it?

    • @UncertifiedAttorney

      He did use it a couple of time in the movie Django Unchained. Also, it just makes it sound badass.

    It's also very easy to do it in premiere with the transform effect.

    • @MaxNovakTutorials
      @MaxNovakTutorials  5 лет назад +7

      its easier to do in after effects because you have more control over natural looking motion blur

    • @dimitrydanchev4546
      @dimitrydanchev4546 5 лет назад +4

      If you uncheck the "Use composition shutter" in the transform effect and type in 180 or higher it would give a natural looking motion blur. The one from AE might look better tho, not sure.

    • @TaanielMalleus
      @TaanielMalleus 5 лет назад +3

      @@dimitrydanchev4546 Exactly, looks pretty much the same.

    • @MaxNovakTutorials
      @MaxNovakTutorials  5 лет назад +3

      @@TaanielMalleus I think ae looks a bit better but of course all up to personal preference :) best thing I like about Pr --> Ae is they're super similar with what you're able to do with each having specific strengths , appreciate the comment though, I definitely should have included the Pr transform in the video but I forgot.

    Couldn't you do this in Premiere Pro with the distort plugin called "Transform"?
    It has motion blur built in, and I would be surprised if it wasn't the exact same as what's in After Effects. You can even choose your shutter angle!

      a really good workflow can be possible by MAINLY using adobe illustrator AND after effects. h having some knowledge of photoshop also help massively, for special circumstances.
      if you don't have the resources to get the adobe creative cloud suite (which contains the programs i mentioned), then you should download davinci resolve official FREE VERSION and use fusion (serves as an after effects alternative) to animate that way. for free (although some functionality is available only in the PAID version for obvious reasons).
      in case you end up using some cracked version of the adobe suite to get them all, you need to be extra careful as there's a lot of malware out there disguised as legitimate add-on through these cracked installations.
      i hope that this explanation helped.

      first 3 mins of the vid is intro and useful information before the step by step. Plus i showed 2 different methods on how to do the effects so basically 5 mins each. If 5 mins is too much time to do something in After Effects than you gotta whole new world coming once you get into other tutorials haha
