    I've been looking into buying these earbuds, and imagine the smile on my face when I find out they've been reviewed by my favorite reviewer. thanks a ton for the vid!

    I just ordered these after some research, and I think you may have had an improper seal with these when testing them out. Many sources on Head Fi claim neutrality(although you are definitely on the right track with the warmness)

    Would you recommend the Shure SE215 or the Philips Fidelio S2 when it comes to sound quality?

  • @Dyelon210
    @Dyelon210 10 лет назад +5

    I have both the MDR7750 and the Fidelio s2 and I like both, but I don't really think it's fair to compare a $350 headphone to a $140 headphone. I would say the s2 are better overall from a price/performance standpoint but then again we're already quite a bit past the point of diminishing returns aren't we?

      Dyelon210 I bought my 7550 for 220 actually! But I do take your point. I don't think the 7550 is stellar value. I just like it a lot.

    Would you say these are better than the JVC Xtreme xplosives 3rd version?
    Not sure if you tested them out or tried them.

    Um...i have been using the Shure se215 se , do you think it's a good idea to switch to Fidelio s1 / s2 ?? From what i gather.. Is it like the apple in-ear sort of earphone ? ( More on mid-high, and chilly voice ) . And i hear it leaks quite a lot, would it be as bad as , say ,the apple earbuds? I listen to mostly country , jazz and sometimes cub, rap musics , so the se215 serve me quite good , but you know , just want to try something better. Thanks a lot :)

    • @lachlanlikesathing
      @lachlanlikesathing  10 лет назад

      Yes they are more like Apple earbuds in terms of leakage. For something different from the SE215 you could try the Yamaha EPH-100 or VSonic GR07?

      So the sound part is a no then ? What a shame....I really like the design of this thing. Anyway thx very much , i might have already bought it if it weren't for your one and only engligh review on youtube, the others are like..russian or something else. But i might just can't stop myself to go buy a pair and try hahah, i would be a happy man if it just gives me a good bass and mids.

    how would you compare the sound of these earbuds to the signature of the v-moda m100's. I'm looking for an IEM most similar to the m100 sound.

    Hello. Do you know what ? We are 25/05/2020... And still have them and I still use them every Day. They work pretty well. The sound is better than before. I have them for 5 YEARS. I wear them as négative style. Just switch them right to left and reverse the stéréo in your device. I'll never regret buying them

  • @Tommie22x
    @Tommie22x 11 лет назад

    hey laclan thanks for recommending this earphone to me! i was wondering if you had heard of the s1? from philips, innerfidelity says their sound signature is very close, but the s2 is built more solidly and sounds smoother i think overall. but the s1 is priced at 99 like the re400s! so their's some good competition!

    It is said that these require over 100 hours of brake in and end up sounding more spacious and linear than GR07. Care to elaborate?

    • @lachlanlikesathing
      @lachlanlikesathing  10 лет назад

      Rodrigo Domínguez My one comment would be I don't really believe in break in, but I do listen to gear for a long time before doing my reviews and I didn't notice any significant changes.

    • @rodrigodominguez5283
      @rodrigodominguez5283 10 лет назад

      Then what is your view of Vsonic GR07. Do you think the bio cellulose drivers sound stable the first 50 hours of use or is it just mental burn in?

    • @lachlanlikesathing
      @lachlanlikesathing  10 лет назад

      I didn't really notice any difference over time. It's been a long time though. I generally think mental burn in is an extremely powerful phenomenon.

    Still are great in 2021, do a little EQ-ing and have fun, they are stellar. (lower region 0,1-8 kHz with peak 8 kHz -5 dB, rise above 10 kHz + 6)

      Bass* and these aren't bass focused earphones so I doubt they're bass heavy, just bass accurate.

    None of the included silicone ear tips worked for me nor did the S-200 Comply foam tips. However, the included Ts-200 Comply foam tips worked wonders for this phone which I consider quite accurate sounding. Although a bit more expensive than the Yamaha EPH-100 (a rather dark sounding phone) I consider the Fidelio S2 to be a far better phone. I consider it unfortunate the reviewer didn't mention the Comply foam tips in the review.

    I wanted to like this so bad but I just couldn't. I love the looks, the build and the comfort but I just don't like the sound! I'm selling them with a little pain in my heart, especially because I like my Fidelio X2 so freaking much... :(

    From the looks of these it looks like you cant get them deep at all, and semi open so bad isolation.
    on the plus side the driver is big, i guess this might be like the marshall minors but more in ear and probably better. Im gonna try them

    personally though i think the fidelio would be soo convenient for the general public, you can easily slip it in and out and hear stuff around you (hopefully i would rather it replace the earpods and the old apple earbuds) and it has the 1 button remote (smart! didn't alienate apple or android users)

    Thumbs up for 7550, especially the fact that it has replaceable cables! I hope companies will finally realize just how important the concept of replaceable really is!

    I have the TX2 which is supposed to have a similar sound signature to these headphones. I find them really excellent for orchestral/ classical type music they make listening really enjoyable. When listening to pop (Sia in particular) I found them to be unbearably harsh. I couldn't listen to them with that genre of music. But if you listen to orchestral music the TX2 are excellent. I have decided to move on to the HiFiMan RE-400 hopefully they make music fun. Can anyone comment about how the S2 relate to the TX2 especially in the high region?

    Ohhh....I tried it out (Thank god the owner let me tried) , really really disappointed, sounds like the apple in-ear earphone, really chilly and sparkling voice. lack of overwhelming good bass, not much impressed by the mids..and to my ear not much different from the s1. It's like the exact opposite version of beats..good on juzz maybe, but at that price...Nope.

    • @see08sharp
      @see08sharp 10 лет назад +1

      Are you positively sure your ear tips seal was perfect? Did you try it with the included Comply foam tips? If not, I recommend you try it again.

    • @raymonddemontagne3981
      @raymonddemontagne3981 10 лет назад

      Nah i used the original ones that come with the earphone, I know that special kind of ear tips may help a bit on the bass area, but to my ears no doubt it's a straight mid-high range kind of earphone, so i droped it real quick the first time i put on them.
