  • Be prepared for your C&P Exam. I always say that these exams are like job interviews. You should know the following before going in:
    1. What is in your medicals
    2. Everything about the specific disability (causes, symptoms, etc.)
    3. What will be ask from the DBQ
    4. What does Title 38 say
    Furthermore, there are some questions that will always be asked. Here they are.
    1. How long have you had ________?
    2. Show me where the pain is or where it hurts
    3. How does this impact you ability to have a normal work and social life.
    A lot of this information should be in your statement in support of claims. Therefore, you should remember what you wrote there.

      I hear you. What they don’t tell you is that you have to take your health into your own hands, and drive it so it is in your records. It’s what I learned after the fact and wish I could have changed.

    Another blockbuster! I have taken notes. BBB so it’s fine to have my therapist fill out a DBQ before my C&P exam? I did ask my therapist and she agreed. APTTMHY

    Great information. Do you have any examples to help a veteran in completing statements of support of claims??

    • @battlebuddyben
      @battlebuddyben  8 месяцев назад +3

      Yes. Here a link to a template for Statement In Support of Claim. When done, copy and paste it onto VA Form 21-4138.

    Hi. I will be filing my original claim this year, so I’ve never been to a C&P exam. This is good information! With regard to the “bonus question” (Do you have additional medical evidence to support your claim?), would this be the time to give the examiner relevant articles from medical journals supporting my claim?

    • @battlebuddyben
      @battlebuddyben  5 месяцев назад +1

      In my opinion, I would keep it to relevant medical records evidence however, it wouldn’t hurt to ask them to add it to your file. If they won’t take it, you can submit those articles via the intake center. Some examiners are more helpful in that way than others.

    What about is your filing a claim secondary to something like PTSD. How would you answer those questions?

    • @battlebuddyben
      @battlebuddyben  8 месяцев назад

      For mental disorders, they will be looking a lot at how you present yourself and how you answer any questionnaires. A lot of the symptoms for PTSD are the same as other disorder. They will ask you the same "question" multiple ways to see how differently you answer them. They also want to know the story behind your PTSD situation. Make sure you know it inside out. Review the DBQ.

    Have you done anything about depression anxiety secondary to tinnitus? Have a c&p exam in a week?

    • @battlebuddyben
      @battlebuddyben  6 месяцев назад +1

      What I know is that tinnitus can cause depression/anxiety due to the constant ringing essentially driving you nuts. I suggest you review title 38 disability schedule for mental disorders. Understand what symptoms they are looking for the level you think you should be rated at. Be yourself and be honest about the symptoms.

    What about diabetes?

    • @battlebuddyben
      @battlebuddyben  8 месяцев назад

      The C&P Examiners are NP’s or PA’s who are not specialized in endocrinology which diabetes falls under. I would look at the DBQ for diabetes and understand what they’re looking for. Ask your private specialist for help or to fill out the DBQ for you so you can avoid a C&P Exam. A lot of the questions from this video still apply. When did it start and how is it impacting your work/social life?

I started the shot about 1 year ago. At that time I A1C 7.5 it’s now 5.3 but I am still on med formula been on it every sense 1996 I retired in 1993 started out a low dosage. Incorrect info about PA and NPs,

    • @battlebuddyben
      @battlebuddyben  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for the feedback. Maybe my video was not clear. The NP's and PA's I've seen at my C&P exams were not specialized in every area of medicine like a specialist doctor is. I will ensure I'm more clear in future videos.
