I saw this when I was locked tight in the closet and I can say it oddly enough had a positive effect on me. It was wild and crazy, but four gay best friends who all looked and acted different showing that not all gay people act or look the same was a bit groundbreaking for a very christian south Louisiana guy. I never imagined a life of being out and gay or having lgbtqia+ friends. Weird how the dumbest shit can actually do some ground breaking work on you. A personal thank you for the Eating Out movies and Dantes Cove as well.

I completely agree! Christian southern South Carolina boy myself and this movie was great! Seeing the gay jock just warmed my heart and made me think “omg there are gay jocks out there! Maybe it is possible I’ll find one one day!” Still haven’t but it sure helped the situation! The Eating Out movies are freakin great too! So hilarious!

The movie references a few other movies besides American Pie. Edge of Seventeen( the drunk frat boy that throws up is actually an actor from it. When Nico Comes out to his mom while she plays the piano is straight from the movie. ) Queer as Folk(Debbie Diner Mom) Drag mom aka mommie dearest. Dad from Kids In The Hall. You really have to be familiar with gay culture from the 90's to get all the little easter eggs..

I was almost 40 when this movie came out in the video store. I couldn't stop laughing. I watch it again every year. I've almost memorized it. I didn't like the sequel. RUclips has a 15-year reunion of cast members where they discuss the iconic film. Surprising that Pano didn't remember Andy the main character. Because he's the boy next door? Nico "blew it out his ass" because he didn't know how to douche. He didn't read the directions & pumped much air into his butt. Highly recommend the movie.

I saw this movie years ago. It’s a silly take on the often bad coming of age movies we got in the 90’s and early 00’s. (For example the Mom at the piano saying “duh” to her son being gay was a direct rip from “edge of seventeen” when it’s an emotional scene of son coming out to his mom. I think it’s the same actress too. Lol

OMG I had the weirdest experience with this movie. It was my best guy friends birthday & he invited all the cool guys over to spend the night, I was in 6th grade and not out the closet yet but knew my identity. We’re at Blockbuster, RIP, and my straight friend sees this movie for rent and thinks it looks funny and gets his mom to rent it! Meanwhile, I’m starting to question his “straightness”. We get back to his house & start watching the movie and I’m freaking out sitting with 5 straight guys watching this gay af movie! To this day, I do not know how those other guys thought about why my best friend picked this movie…but it changed my life, like a year later I came out and all made sense!! So funny you reviewed this crazy, weird, movie! Haha. You are so cute though! Love your videos! Makes me feel not as alone on watching this and Degrassi and having those inner teen heart warming moments-I relate with you so much! 😂❤

You laughing at the enormous buttplug and “disgusting vomit scene” cracked me up. Todd Stephens, the director who also did “Edge of Seventeen” created this movie as a retaliation:
“The film was a result of Stephens difficulty in securing distribution of Gypsy 83 because the film was not "gay" enough. Stephens said "I was really angry when I wrote it. Very frustrated. And Another Gay Movie's what came out."

It was because of how Gypsy was received is why he wrote this movie. A few movies have left out on the comment sections that he pokes fun at is 'Get Real' and 'Beautiful Thing'. Also, among the many stars that were in this movie was Darryl Stephens from Showtimes Noah's Ark.
