Hi, I have been following your video. I bought a rebuild kit with it came two different 1:59 oil seals. However in your video I only see you mount one one the crankshaft. Where would the other one go?
Hi, thanks for the extra Key for my 1700 lock that you sent a couple of weeks ago. Just a quick question, if I can? On my 1700 engine the HT lead has a metal spark plug cap and metal sheath on the HT cable. It has bit that comes off of it to a earthing bolt on the engine casing, is this earthing point absolutely necessary, as the 3800 doesn't appear to have one. Thanks, Jeff
You are welcome Jeff, how is it making the keys? I am not sure about the 1700 to be honest, but guess it is worth trying without and see if you get spark?
@@classicrestoration49 Hi and thank you again. I haven't got round to the keys yet, probably towards the end. I am slowly powder coating all the bits of the frame, but lots of little bits and pieces to do before I can get it back together again. I try and make one video a week, so have done a part strip down of the engine for next week's video. I have now got to get the cylinder and brackets painted by next week. Take care, Jeff
Hi, why didn't you put engine sealant every time you installed a new gasket? It is not needed? I ask because I will soon be dismantling the engine of my Solex and I wanted to see what type of sealant is usually used during reassembly since I will be replacing all the gaskets. Thank you!
Hi, good question. I sometimes put a little synthetic oil to keep gasket in place when assembling , but not always. I don’t use something else to seal it. Hope this helps.
Thank you 😊
You are welcome, hope it is useful

There is only one, but depending on your model it is either one or the other. I guess your rebuild kit has both models included just in case?
What size needle bearings do I need to use on each side of the connecting rod?
It is one 6202 - 2RSR size: Ø15 X 35 X 16mm and one 6203 size: Ø17X40X12mm
