That's crazy that they're building out a budget carry ecosystem that actually holds up to quality right?
I got this bag (not customized) originally to carry my switch/charger when I don’t want to carry a bulky case. The bag is nice and holds a decent amount, nice for edc if you don’t like/want a backpack. And if something doesn’t fit in the pack, there’s two straps on the side that you can clip another pack or water bottle on.
The two straps on either side really do come in clutch. Match it up with a carabiner or a heroclip and you're set!
I love my TomToc sling. I went with the V-buckle it is so satisfying to open and close. A dark exterior with a light interior. It is a perfect everyday carry imo. I wear it everyday.
In retrospect I should've went with a light interior as well! Glad you're getting a lot of use out of this one 🙏🏼
Hey Ron! Wow, what an amazing video! I actually just ordered this bag the other day and can't wait to see it in person. I had no idea TomToc was offering this custom option and very nearly ordered a standard bag from Amazon. Thankfully I stumbled upon a video talking about the custom bags and went that route instead.

Awesome video Ron! I am glad you mentioned the slipping over time because that is always my biggest annoyance with sling bags. Sounds like an awesome bag will have to check them out.
Glad you enjoyed this one Brett! YES it's a huge problem and I've even thought about sticking grip tape or something on the underside of my slings to keep it in place 😂
This reminds me so much of the Trove wallet. The amount of colors and customizations with it is crazy and the only reason I'd buy a second one lol. I make my own wallets and own many more made by others but I'd still grab that non leather wallet because of how cool you can make them your own 🤘

What would be amazing is if they had an option to put a hook and loop path for all your favorite RE's. But this sling is looking like a pretty good deal.
Slap some 3M adhesive hook and loop, throw down a few stitches for good measure, and you're golden! But you're right, a loop field would be clutch here.
Great content as aways! I'm really thinking about getting one of those, but I'd like to see it side by side with the alpaka tech case mini. Both seem to be a good everyday sling or a pouch that I can throw inside a backpack...

I love my tomtoc bags but I would hardly call $80 ‘budget’.
All types of budgets exist however, large to small. 😎
I definitely feel you there. ‘Budget’ is hard to assign one single number bc like you said, all types of incomes and spending/saving habits exist out there. Tomtoc typically makes what I would call budget slings in the $30-50 range, and this custom sling is a custom take on that same budget sling - the kicker is that with all these configurations and processes to achieve a custom bag, the price point does increase 🤷🏻 I appreciate your feedback though and will try to hone in a sweet spot budget range that applies to the most people 👊🏼

The pricing and addition of fidlock is pretty attractive! Maybe during reviews you can show if slings can fit a water bottle or a switch?
I don't care too much for a sling but I always need a bottle on me.
That being said, what do you think of 2.5L, 4.5L and 6L volumes for slings? I can't work around the 2-4L options and always go for 6L ones to accomodate a bottle and umbrella.
I've never seen that assymetrical belt configuration. Is it better than an additional chest support strap for stability?
I’ll make sure to show how bottles I own fit into the bag in the future to give you a better sense of size. I personally don’t go past 5L for slings as I don’t need that much capacity for what I use them for. I think both strap configurations reduce wiggle during wear, so either config would be beneficial. Another viewer noted that with this bag, you can’t adjust which side the asymmetry favors (ie it’s not compatible for left handed users), so grabbing a sling that’s ambidextrous, and adding in the stabilizing strap makes it more versatile if you’re a leftie. Just something to note!

Cool colors, but double the money? The only option important to me is the light colored interior lining. If the standard version had that, I would own one already, even at a $10 bump.

I have family and friends who wear sling packs on their right shoulder. There's no option to allow for that configuration. Sadly, doesn't matter how many options they provide if one can't successfully wear it by the end of the day.

@@RonKwok excellent point. And one I keep trying to remind myself. I'm always dealing with 'what ifs' in my head. And taking the old scout motto of 'be prepared' probably a bit more seriously than necessary. I'm working on it though.
The only downside to this sling bag and trust me a huge downside my opinion of course, is the price of $89.
It is pretty steep ngl, but if customization is what you want and this form factor makes you feel some kinda way, it’s an option!
