The Ultimate Ranch (Tour)- Slime Rancher

- In this video, I will be doing a tour of my ranch on my main Slime Rancher save. I farm every type of crop, except the unfarmable ones (Gilded Ginger, Kookadoba, etc.) and Pogofruit as they are not preferred by any slimes. I have every type of farmable slime (Obviously I don't quicksilver, gold, fortune, etc.) and I have every type of Gordo because I can. I will be showing all of this stuff off, along with my drone settings, farming route, ranch extensions, etc. I hope you enjoy the video, and if you have any questions, please let me know in the comments!

I’ve always struggled to think of a use for the material transfer depots and I love how you’ve incorporated them! Separating all the slimes from the food plots probably keeps hungry slimes a little less desperate to escape their corrals lol
Thanks. I'll be honest, when I first set up the ranch layout, I really wanted to find a way to make the material transfer depots useful for whatever reason, and I am pretty satisfied with how it came out. I will say that as far as slimes escaping, the only problem I ever really ran into is the boom slimes which is why I moved them into the corner by themselves. 😅
Thank you so much for making this video. After around 5 weeks I was able to get my ranch to be exactly like yours. This layout is so amazing. Thanks.
Awesome! I'm glad you found my layout useful! Hope you've had fun with Slime Rancher too.
Thanks, this was really helpful. I am going to redesign my ranch now...
Glad you liked the video!
I have been having some problems with my design but now i know the best way to set everything up, thank you
No problem, glad you liked the design!
I really love your ranch and it's cute slimes! :) I also got Inspired to improve my own ranch, thank you!
Glad you liked it, and I'm glad it inspired you to work on your own ranch! Let me know how it goes!
Below is the layout I have for my ranch setup. Unfortunately, it doesn't have crafted items placement, but it should be able to give you a good start to getting everything set up. Also, the numbers on the plots are the number of slimes that should be in them. And lastly, I have 15 largos in each corral, but 10 might be a smarter/safer number as they are less likely to break out and create tar slimes.
By the way, for the House and for Tech I use the Volcanic Chroma, and for the Vac, I use the Salamander Chroma.

I was working on a Slime Rancher 2 video, but put it on hold for now. The game came out in early access and just didn't have enough content for me to feel like I could make something actually worth making a video about. I will still make a video on Slime Rancher 2 at some point, it may just be a bit.
It may take some time, but I recommend you swap Viktor's ranch and the grotto with each other, that way none of the Quantum/Sabers can escape. To quickly remove the slimes from the grotto, just start a Tarr invasion.
Yeah, that would probably be smarter, didn't even think about it. Also, there is an invisible border between all of the major parts of the ranch that prevent slimes from going between them, so there shouldn't be too much reason to worry.
@@DestinedTucker I had no idea about that last part! 😅😅
@@joell2006 Yeah, it's a nice little trick to know.
@@joell2006i just used it today to wipe out my grotto for my mosaic dervish cuz it was my first time seeing it even though i was playing for 4 years and it was so pretty

I've definitely spent way too much time playing this game over the years. It's a great game, I hope you enjoy it. :D
awesome mate! I just started playing recently, this gave me some good ideas!
Glad I could help out! Hope you have fun with your play through. :D
Not played in a few years...wow lots of new stuff to blow my mind into pieces.
Yeah, Monomi Park has done a great job with this game, and I can't wait until they unveil the next major update for the game. If you haven't played in a while, I would totally recommend hopping back on to play a bit. It's always fun to just screw around a bit in Slime Rancher. :)
great video! im definitely inspired to change up my ranch after seeing this.
Glad to hear, hope you have fun with the game, and make a cool ranch! 😄
Using the cave as a highly enclosed free-range ranch is actually pretty clever.
Thank you, I was pretty happy when I figured out that would work.
I guess I didn't really clarify, in the video, by "The Ultimate Ranch" I don't mean that it makes the most money possible or that it looks the prettiest, I more mean that it is the most versatile Ranch possible. I farm just about every crop and hold every type of slime. I still make a pretty decent amount of money, but please feel free to link me to pictures or videoes of your ranches! Thanks for watching!
The fact that you’re only on day 195 is crazy
@@C0L0URBLND Yeah, everyone moves at their own pace. Some people go even faster than I did.
Nice ranch. I like it.
Thanks 👍 I'm glad you liked it. :D
I started playing it yesterday and i already got honey slimes, three ranch extensions and lots of slimes, the most productive ones are the big (pink+cat and pink+shiny with wing) slimes, i found one of the shiny with wings' slime favorite toy but I didn't bring it to the ranch
Nice, hope you enjoy the game, and if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer!
I just got this game last night and didn’t know anything about it. Seeing your ranch is overwhelming 🤣
Hope you have fun with the game, and I'd probably just recommend having fun and doing whatever you want before you try to do anything too crazy. 😄
Hey I just have a small question. What colors are those warp depots and teleport It is just hard to see some of them in the video
Sorry for the late response, but I believe I use blue and purple warp depots, and for the teleporters, I’ve used almost every color. Feel free to use whatever colors you like though, since it’s your farm, and it shouldn’t matter too much as they all work the same. If you need any more help, let me know, and I’ll do my best!
I have a question about the chickens, how would they breed of the drone just picks them up? Sorry if it’s a dumb question loo
No worries, that is not a dumb question. I believe that the drone only picks up the chickens from the coops if there are more than four adult chickens (the roosteroos do not count and the baby chicks do not count either). So the drones just pick up the "extra" chickens if that makes sense. Hope this helps!
This is crazy nice. Please post for Slime Rancher 2
I plan on making a really good ranch in Slime Rancher 2 then making a video on it, hopefully I can get the video done not too long after the game launches. Maybe within the first week or two. 😄
Great video 10/10 audio quality
SeaLord 1105 I agree, the audio quality is a huge step up🙌🏿
Have you had any problems with the quantum slimes escaping out of the grotto or the other tunnel that connects to the lab area. Also have you had any problems with the dervish mosaic largos causing there plorts to escape there corral and go to some of your other largos and accidentally making tarr slimes. Any info provided would be great thanks.
Yeah, the qunatum slimes are really annoying to deal with. No slime will leave it's region of the map (so if it's in the grotto, it will stay in the grotto, same goes for the lab or any other area). So no, you shouldn't have to worry about the qunantum slimes leaving the grotto. I have had issues with the mosaic-dervish largos, which is part of the reason that they are in the far corner of my lab. Although with the exact set up I have, I haven't had issues with tar slimes in quite some time. The only other thing I'd recommend trying it maybe dervish-tangle largos in the corner, I'm not entirely sure the best way to deal with the slimes from the glass desert. Hopefully this helped, and I can help answer any other questions you've got.
@@DestinedTucker I'll try my best. Worse case scenario I could just use like the mochis manor specifically for the dervish tangle largos or dervish mosaic largo. Since that's a completely different part not connected physically to the main ranch.
@@alexswaney3322 That's true, both Mochi's and Odgen's sections I didn't really use all too well (and honestly I forget they're there most of the time), but they'd definitely be a good place to store those slimes to prevent tars. I might have to do that next time I play through Slime Rancher.
Thanks, I hope you don't mind me copying you (not all) your ranch is the right one for me. :)
I'm glad you like my layout, feel free to use it however you want! If you have any questions or recommendations let me know!
where do u get the sell thing u have in places around ur ranch
Sorry for the late replay, but you get the Market Links at 7Zee Reward Club tier 11 for $34,000. Hope this helps!
Do you think its possible to actually make a fully automatic ranch? If so how would you go about doing it? I feel like if you're going for fully automation you wouldn't use plots for silos? Im having trouble coming up with ways to do it because you're only allowed 2 drones per area
I think it is probably possible. You would have to refill water on drones, but outside of that I think it shouldn't be too hard. You'd likely have to use all of the ranch expansions including Odgen's Retreat and Mochi Miles's place. You would have to have the largos, their favorite food, the drones, and market links all in the same section of the ranch. Since each area has at least four plots, you could probably have up to two groups of largos per region, and just make sure one of their favorite foods is planted in the region. In order to make it work, you may have to drop the water/lava/chicken areas I made, but I made those for fun, so it shouldn't matter too much. The only thing actually holding back full automation is the drones needing water, since you can't use turrets to automatically water them. Hope this helps.
@@DestinedTucker hey thanks for the quick response, so basically pair up a corral of largos with their favorite food in the same area/expansion and then have a drone take the food and move it to the autofeeder? Also what do you think about slime largo combinations and is it just preference as long as you cover every slime type? I feel like ive seen lots of people use phosporus boom but not sure why. Maybe just to pair up a meat eating slime with a veggie/fruit one? Thanks for the reply!
@@perritocoreano5395 Yeah, pretty much. Favorite food is really important since it doubles the plorts that the largo produces. As for largo combinations, I usually try to take a veggie/fruit slime and pair it with a meat slime, since meat is harder to mass produce. That is probably the reason you see so many boom/phosphorus largos, because booms eat meat and phosphorus slimes don't. Glad I could help!
How many fire slimes to you have per incinerator?
I usually try to keep 5-10 fire slimes, but if you have 8-10 they often get out and despawn.
how do you keep the pink slime so calm?
I just give them way too much food. 😅 You probably don't need 100 of them like I have, but I did it as a fun little challenge. But just make sure they are well fed and they should behave themselves.
Nice
Thanks.
@@DestinedTucker Np. :)
How do the saber largos not escape the cave???
You would think that they would escape, but the game divides the regions of the Ranch up so that stuff cannot go between them without the player moving them. So it seems like they could leave the cave, but there is an invisible wall that does not let them. Hope this helps.
how do I get the drone that dispenses the cuberry in the main part of the ranch only do one coral.
You just need to make sure that every corral has at least some food in it at all times, so that when it goes to refill the cubeberries, the drone can only put the cubeberries in one corral. Hope this helps!
@@DestinedTucker thank you so much

1st Row - Plorts - Plort Collectors - Plort Market
2nd Row - Fruit - Silos - Auto-Feeders
Drone 2 (Closer to Ranch Entrance):
1st Row - Fruit - Gardens - Silos

okay c:
I was very inspired by your design and I would love to do something similar is there any way you could give a list of all the things you fabricated(such as drones and depots) because that way I could have it all set up and ready to go before I take everything down lol
Hey, sorry for the delayed response time, I was out of town for a bit, but I believe I have a complete list for you. I may have missed something here or there, but there should be 7 teleporters, 5 regular drones, 8 advanced drones, 4 warp depots, 5 refinery links, 5 market links, and I believe I had 4 of each resource gathering machine spread throught the world in their respective regions. Hope this helped if you haven't built everything already, and I hope you enjoy Slime Rancher!
Why wouldn't you designed the advanced drone so they will automatically fill the auto feeders and will sell the plorts or fill the refinery and that would make your ranch fully automatic and you will just be able to focus on other stuff like farming gold or something?
Also it can make you a lot of money I have like 6 million and I'm in day 108 and have like 500 gold plorts so far which I will never ever sell
Edit: There's a long response below that you can read if you want, but here's a much shorter explanation. I didn't care for the ranch to be entirely perfect, just that I could have every slime. I still like the ranching part of the game, so I didn't want complete automation, especially since I've basically done everything else in the game. It's definitely possible to do, but it just wasn't for me when I made the ranch layout, if I remade it today though, I'd more than likely make it fully automatic. (Also, not having it fully automatic kinda added more playtime and I didn't want to quit playing the game even though I had done everything else.)
Honestly, it's just not something I fully cared to do. At the time that I made this ranch layout, I was saving some of the ranch expansions (like Odgen's Retreat and Mochi Miles' expansion) to potentially expand the ranch when additional DLC came out. Of course, Monomi Park ended up scrapping the additional DLC and decided to make Slime Rancher 2 instead. It's also not much more work anyways. You'd have to run to each area to water the drones, so moving around a few food items doesn't take too much longer. Also it would spread the slimes out a lot more, reducing each section of the ranch to just having 2-3 different types of slimes instead of 5-6. I've thought about redoing the ranch layout since I made this video to just improve it and finalize the design, but it's just never something I got around to. The biggest reason though just comes down to me not really caring to utilize the ranch expansions that you have to teleport to, for some reason I just never felt as comfortable building in them, so I didn't. Lastly, money stops mattering at a certain point, so I didn't entirely see the point of min/maxing everything and more just wanted to have a ranch that displayed all the different types of slimes and crops in the game. I know it was a long explanation, but I hope this answered your question. :D
@@DestinedTucker Ya man it did everyone just has different goal in this game. Thanks for the the quick and long response I appreciate that. Have a great day!

Scusa per la risposta in ritardo. Avevi dei droni specifici che ti servivano per la configurazione? Posso convincere il mio mondo domani a trovare la configurazione esatta per tutti loro.
Probably very late on this. But can you post a picture of your mixed setup and where you place everything
Alright, I went through and made a layout image. I couldn't add items, but hopefully it can help get started. The numbers on certain plots are the amount of slimes that should be in each plot. For the largos, I would say you may not need or want to use 15, it may be safer to use just 10, but it's up to you on how much you want to risk.

The problem is i need to completely change everything in my ranch and destroy some of my slimes And can i destroy gadgets like drones and teleporters i dont know. I want to change my ranch but it is very difficult. I am at day 96 any tips?
Note: I know you have 2 years to upload a vid on RUclips and maybe don't even play games anymore but hopefully you will see my comment and replie🙏
@@georgearxodis6290 Hi George, I don't know if this comment is coming too late, but when I redid my ranch, I would go area by area. I typically started with the main rain area by the house. I would move the important stuff to other sections of the ranch (like the lab) and then just clear everything. Any slimes I would just toss into the sea and get new ones. A lot of the times, the largos I had would not be the ones that I wanted, so I would just throw them away and make new ones. Another way you could do it would be to turn them all into tar slimes and set up the water turrets, but that can be a bit risky if you aren't careful. It just takes a bit of time to fully reset and adjust the ranch.
To make new largos I would just get 10-15 of one half of the largo (let's say hunter-honey, so I would get 10-15 honey slimes), then I would dump in a couple of the other plorts (hunter plorts in this case) and then wait for them to turn themselves all into largos. Hopefully that all makes sense.
Also, make sure you have a decent amount of money set aside before you clear out any of your areas, so that you can easily re-buy any plots for corrals or gardens.
I believe you should be able to pick up most of your gadgets, at least the drones. I think that the only gadgets that really had problems with being picked up are the teleporters unfortunately. It has been a while since I tried moving teleporters, but I thought that it didn't give you them back when you tried to pick them up (althought that may have changed, I am not sure). If you have any other questions let me know, I will make sure to respond faster.
@@DestinedTucker hi I am surprised that you responded to me. Now I have everything set up and I only need to make some details and it will be ready.the only little problem I have is that I had already set teleporters and I don't know if I can destroy them and make new ones but I will check it. slime rancher 2 soon?
I am actually going to start on this soon. I wanted to do a ranch guide back when the game first came into early access, but I didn't feel there was quite enough content to justify it back then. With all of the updates since launch, I think it could be good now, and I am going to jump back into it soon since the new update just launched.
So basically, yes, I will make a guide probably before the end of the year. I also might make regular guides as new updates come out.
Yo bro I just got the game what do you think I should do and what my goal for the ending of the game when I get good like u
I'd try to find something you want to do (for example decorating your farm in a specific way, trying to get as much money as you can, finding the ideal farm layout, or even just having a farm that only uses meat to feed the slimes). I personally just tried to max out everything and make everything as efficient as possible, but I'd just recommend trying to have fun instead of getting caught up in grinding out a certain goal. I'd also recommend looking into some of the end game content like the vaults, they are pretty fun to check out. Hope this helps!
Definitely helped but I like to grind games and I want to have something efficient like you and something that's makes me good and the best ranches to make the most money and get teleporters and stuff like that but idk how to get a efficient farm like you but I would love to so can I get some tips and tricks to get a efficient farm
Yeah, I'll definitely walk you through my thought process. I try to start by making sure all of my largo slimes have one of their favorite foods being a fruit or vegetable so that they are easy to farm. I try to have some of the favorite foods farmed in the same ranch expansion that the slimes are in so that they can be automatically fed by the drones. (Cuberries being by the phosphor slimes for example.) Another thing I take into account when setting up an area of my ranch is making sure that dangerous slimes (Boom, Mosaic, Dervish, Tangle, etc.) are off to the side, where they can't become Tar slimes or cause any damage. This is why the Boom slimes are separated in the main part of the ranch and why I keep the Dervish, Tangle, and Mosaic in the Lab ranch expansion. The Quantum slimes are going to be a challenge to deal with no matter what solution you come up with, so I gave up fighting their teleporting and devoted the Grotto (I call it the cave) ranch expansion to them so they could free roam and eat phase lemons. One final bit of advice that I can think of right now is that you should develop a farming route of sorts. By this, I mean that at the beginning of each day, what are you going to do in order to make it through your farm as efficiently and effectively as possible, so you aren't wasting too much time. I start at the docks and make my way through the overgrowth and back to the main ranch, watering drones, and refilling crops as I go. (I use depots to make it so I only take one trip and can easily feed slimes at each location) Going back to my route, when I am in my main ranch area, I feel all of those slimes and make my way to the lab to feed and take care of those slimes and then head to the cave to finish off my route and take care of my Qunatum slimes. Obviously, I stop at the different ranch expansion teleporters along the way (Like Odgen's retreat and Mochi Miles' place.) I hope I didn't confuse you too much with this response, and if you have any other questions or need me to clarify something else, let me know. :D
My goal personally has been to get 900 of every food and plotted including roostros, hen hens, and spicy tofu I also am trying to fill up my slime science area plus I have teleporters to every area in the game that’s what my goal has been hope that gave you an idea
@@edge1040 Yeah, I tried doing this for a while too. It definitely isn't a bad idea, but anyone wanting to attempt it should be aware that it can be quite a grind. It is a serious goal, to say the least, but it's a really good way to prepare for future updates and to be able to confidently say you've "beaten the game." It's not a bad challenge though if you're looking for something to do.

@@ridden8201 Yep, I enjoy responding to all the comments. :D
@@DestinedTucker Funny story, I watched this persons video and he is like maybe 8 or 9 but he is on day 1000

@@ridden8201 Holy crap. 😂 Some people are just super dedicated I guess.
give some money to Shami please
I would if I could, money is so useless to me at this point. :D
Guy i really Want to show my ranch ! Because yours is sad.. you have 2+m gold and still make more gold 😂 use décoration, échos, all variety of slime your gordo are all at the same place, but the grotto is funny ! Xd
Feel free to record and post your video, I'd be glad to look over a better ranch and see how I could improve mine. As for decorations though, I didn't really care to decorate my ranch. You said I am still making money, is there a money cap that I am unaware of, if there is, I guess there is another goal for me to go for. My farm is mostly just to have every type of crop and slime that you could possibly need (except pogofruit and other useless things of course) I'd be happy to see your farm though, so let me know if you post a video about it or have pictures of it somewhere!
@@DestinedTucker ho yes of course i understand that your plans are not to have the most beautiful ranch ;) (for the moment) Yes ! I did it i put all variety of slime with all favorite food and décoration in the thème of the place. I think this week or next month im going to rec my ranch and send u a link just to give you some exemple ! Sorry for my english :3
Granysmith That’s cool, I may actually decorate my ranch and I like your idea of having a theme to each area! Can’t wait to see your ranch!
@@DestinedTucker Guyyyys in maybe 1 or 2 week i send u a vidéo of my ranch, i found a method to record 😂 so do you Want commentary or just the vidéo with no audio (or maybe the audio of the game)
@@granysmith1517 Sorry, I don't have messenger, I just didn't get the time to respond. But you could explain some stuff with the commentary if you want, or you could just do text on the screen, either way, your ranch probably looks pretty cool!
Be funny
