I love how Bruce puts it out there that Maiden is not a "nostalgia" band and that holds true even today, 17 years after this interview. So many bands from the 80's are touring today with their greatest hits and have not released an album in over a decade. Not the case with these guys. The best of the best.

It was the opposite of what Bruce described for me. I went to Ozzfest for Maiden. At the entrance a nervous lady with a clipboard approached us and explained Ozzy was ill and Sabbath wouldn't be playing tonight. She then asked if we'd like to get a refund. We all laughed. My dad said "Ozzy's sick? What's new? He's been sick for 20 years!" And we explained we were there for Maiden alone really. I believe Maiden got to play longer as a result because they must have played 15-20 songs. Seen Maiden 7 times, of which that was the first, and it's still one of the best times I've seen them.
I saw em at the time too, but too young to remember. however I saw the Legacy of the Beast and remember that well- Revelations threw me for a curve ball there for sure

During Adrian's solo he stormed over to (his) left side of the stage, fixed shit, gave someone a Drill Sergeant level ass reaming, and suddenly...back to singing, right on time. shit was fixed.

YUP! I just let the cameras roll LOL Our interviewer got stuck in traffic and couldn't make it and this person was brought in by one of the publicists he was there getting Radio interviews and we just let him continue as we rolled cameras :) it was cringe live in person lol
