I really appreciate the free offering of valuable information. I couldn't get my new P800 to open the ink cover until you suggested that you have to press on the word "English" (or...) to get it to function. And I would not have saved the info from the carton. I have a 3880 and before that a 4000 so I am not new to all this, but the P800 instructions ( (Start Here) are deficient.
Epson makes great printers, but their how to could use more attention. Thanks.

Thanks Scott, for a really helpful video..Ive just installed my p800 printer for the first time, I read everything 3 times over before pressing next etc at the end it said you have successfully installed your printer, but never once offered me the option to insert paper or do test print, any ideas why this might happen? Im now suspicious in case it has already been used! :) and now trying to read up on how to get it to do a test print.. Fab info about the printer heads allignment, I wouldn't have known to do that, Ive bought this for my fine art prints, so am looking for perfection! :)Not sure what else it has missed out! Thanks if you have a moment to answer, Clare

I live in a very dry climate and my 4880 would always dry/clog up. Has Epson resolved these types of issues with this printer? If this has not been addressed how often should I print to keep the nozzles open? Is there an automated way to print on these types of printers; daily or every other day so they don't clog up? Thanks for creating this very informative video!

    Great Vid. Thanks.
I live in AUS so can't make it to your store. If I can get the 4900 at the same price as the 800 is that an automatic yes in your opnion?
My only concern is how long the inks last in the tanks? (Would take me 6 months to get through 200ml)

I've read a number of reviews that note head clogging on the 4900. The drop size is smaller which would suggest finer detail, but the price of that is clogging. My 3880 has never clogged in 4 or4 5 years, often sitting unused for a month or two. Hope the same for the P800. My 4000 used to clog and I had a procedure and a liquid to fix it. Others will have better info on this??

hey, I have a question. I was told by the manufacturer of blank hydrographic film that this printer is MORE then adequate enough for great images but I'm not sure about those inks for hydrographic film printing. they claim a permanent pigment ink is needed and that this printer has it. but this blank film, no settings for it and it's a roll 17" wide and is a thin PVA type film put over a paper backing that is simply peeled off once the printer is done and an Activator A sealer is used. Only then can that film be used properly. I'm thinking this might be over your knowledge considering this is a new product that has not been tested by Epson but is supposed to be able to be used for this. Problem is I'm unclear whether to use all these inks or what setting to select for this film. it's the film used in that 3D water transfer film process. any ideas where to even begin to try printing on this stuff? it's about the thickness of standard paper and since I haven't bought the roller attachment yet, I'll be cutting the roll of film to size using a paper cutter. should I front load or top load? I am lost here. any ideas?
