I searched and tried for years and years to find the right way to hold the pick. A few years ago I came across a video of yours where you also recommended this holding technique and it was absolutely the right way. Your explanations make so much sense. Thank you so much 🙏

I’ve been watching you for a few years and this pendulum picking always seemed unnatural to me. I just realized the other day I was not thinking about it right in my head so the movement was too big. Now that I feel how it should be it’s by far the most effortless way to pick. Thanks Claus!

Hey Claus, one of my best investments on guitar education were your courses on picking. Having the opportunity to exchange video information with you about speed picking changed the whole game too. I am still on the path but hey, it is a more advanced one now and you instructed and helped me cleaning this path up. God knows how much effort you put on this (and me afterwards, of course).
Thank you so much for such courses and all this information.
Last but not least: bits of change in the video aesthetics huh? You are unsttopable.

Holy guaca, soooooo helpful! Amazing video! For me that really solved some of the last mysteries/uncertenties I've been pondering about for quite a while when it comes to the question if I am on the right track concerning my picking hand, finger- and arm-movement. All good though : )Thanks so much for illuminating all the details again!

When playing acoustic guitar (gipsy jazz or bluegrass that is), often you have to generate volume by picking alone. Holding the pick just between the tips of your fingers won’t be strong enough in my experience. But as you’re referring to amplified guitars it seems to be possible. Thanks for your well thought videos, I appreciate them a lot.

Cake is an instant reward, but not good for you in the long term. Picking without fingers is easier to learn, but not good for fast, precise playing. Plus you can't eat a cake with a guitar pick, it would fall apart. Eat steak and hold the pick in two fingers.

Hey Clauss, do you have any tips on how to improve strumming ? I randomly either miss the strings or dig way too hard into them. I'm also having a hard time playing on time even though the rhythm is crystal clear in my head

I used to hold my pick in the ‘wrong’ way. I knew it was wrong because I used to wear away the nail on my index finger. The only problem I have now is holding my other fingers in so that they don’t rest on the body. This feels unnatural as my pick/hand is ‘floating’ without any reference point. Holding those fingers in is difficult…… any ideas?
Ps EVH held his pick wrong but try playing like that! 🤣🤘

Great video. I don't do a ton of speed picking but I practice it as it gives e better control should I need it. What is your opinion of the opposite pick slanting like George Benson does? I feel like I have better control especially when I am descending but I hate the feel of the movement as I am used to the normal slant. Also your thoughts on "circular picking" as I still end up getting jammed up and it helped me a bit..

what pick are you using? I've been experimenting with different sizes and thicknesses lately, seems to make a huge difference in terms of feel. I'd like to try whatever one you're using so I don't have any excuses to suck lol
