Love the sponateity of your wash/weathering. Looks like you enjoyed the creative process. All the videos, by other modellers, painting their ISDs, seem so clinical!
Just a note to those who are asking. Prime the model with a Lacquer primer. White, flat. The paint wash Randy is using is an acrylic, which is a water based paint. Generally, when done, and before you proceed, reshoot with a lacquer clear to protect the work done. You can wash like this repeatedly...using an umber color for added depth.
roguemodel so I bought myself a clear coat primer and black acrylic paint. Do I need to water down the paint or can I just use the spray bottle after I prime it and apply the paint like he did?
I`ll be ordering the model kit, cheap at $550 shipped to the UK. Randy this was a great look for the star destroyer. I`ll be using your method Randy on my kit. Thanks once again for sharing your videos,
Great technique and it turned out amazing!! So i'm now In the process of going to weather the 1/2700 star destroyer kit and wondering should i just weather like you did, or prime it first and with what colour I read in the comments that a flat lacquer white primer is to be used? Wouldn't that show up as white after the weathering is done?
So is it just black acrylic paint watered down by spraying the model? Or is it a black wash and the watered down by spraying the model? If it is just paint, is it flat or gloss? Satin?
HOW DO I GET A HOLD OF THIS KIT.? What is the scale and overall inches from front to back to front and side to side, bottom to top.? Because I like to get a fiber optic kit for it and LED lights for it.
I’m just trying to figure out the scale size of the model kit ? I’m going to get the biggest one they produce and I’m going to scratch build using the preference off the model. When said and done , my Star destroyer should be about 2 1/2 in length.
love your back ground music, ohh and your weathering technic. stay so nice...

thanks for the tips Randy - looking forward to building my ISD which arrived yesterday - looks immense
Wow. How neat is that. Imma be getting myself one of those same models very soon.
That is awesome, I wish I had models for our Han Solo movie that my kids and I made.
Matt M. I just wanted to tell you. Your kids are lucky to have a dad as cool as you.
Thanks Randy! Did you see our 30 min movie? I really wish I knew someone on the east coast with some Ship models I could shoot old school.
I try, thank man.
Outstanding!
Fantastic, may I ask what colour did you use for primer and top coat?
What ws recipe for wash? Any soap in spray or wash? Great result! Cheers!
this is a wonderful Video about fast washing technique ! thx
Another way you can do weathering is use pastels BUT you have to remember to clear coat it after.
Now that's awesome, love it !
Minus the background music, this would be a great unintentional ASMR video.
That looks insane! You never get the cloth caught on the finer details and snap something? Not sure I'd have the guts to do that. :-)

Every wrinkle tells a story, she says, I must have allot of stories. You should make a video of her stories!!! The weathering was good simple video.
Wow! Thats awesome! I can even do that!!!!
Thanks for the tip! I'm going to try it out!!!!! :D

Quick and easy! Great technique! Did you primer coat first?
That looks great!! What is the basecoat color?
Amazing cheers for the tip :)

Nice! (good taste in music as well ;)
Really cool
pretty cool.... from what I gather, you are using an acrylic based paint.... but any acrylic paint will work? craft paint, comart, etc?
Wird Wasser oder verdünner gesprüht . Und welche Art von Farbe wird verwendet
That nervous laugh ....wow....just let him talk

HOW DO I GET A HOLD OF THIS KIT.? What is the scale and overall inches from front to back to front and side to side, bottom to top.? Because I like to get a fiber optic kit for it and LED lights for it.

John Lennon Alive!!
Why would a spaceship be weathered since there is no weather in outer space? Just asking.
You did see the ISD hovering above Jedha City, yes? That was certainly in a planetary atmosphere.
space is NOT empty, it filled with stuff like dust, rocks, debris, . . .
What model kit is this ???
What model kit is this... Can you be more specific? Are you asking "Who makes the kit?"
I’m just trying to figure out the scale size of the model kit ? I’m going to get the biggest one they produce and I’m going to scratch build using the preference off the model. When said and done , my Star destroyer should be about 2 1/2 in length.
