I wish the video was on RUclips. It shows the love and respect between musicians. The whole Reality tour is David taking a back seat to let each one of his friends take a song and show what music is about. What a hero and what a tribute Freddie. Gail really gave this song a new life. Simply amazing ❤
As a musician, the thing I appreciate most is how Gail is able to belt this song with as much passion as she does, perfectly syncing with David, while also playing the bassline (the bedrock of the song) as steadily and precisely as you could possibly want. It's like she's two different people, and I know it can't have been easy to do, but it's absolutely the mark of her superior musicianship (and hours of practice, I'm sure) that she's able to pull it off so apparently effortlessly.
That is definitely pure talent, No matter how hard we practice, some things are just unattainable for people who aren't born with that kind of talent i
Bowie prompted Gail to learn Freddie Mercury's part, no small thing at all. Different versions show how her vocal range just opened up and she so nails it!
Couldn't agree more. Any video you see of her and Bowie onstage, their love for each other just shines out. Apparently he approached her and said 'we should put a version of 'Under Pressure' in the set and you should sing lead'. She said 'I can't work out a whole new arrangement for 'Under Pressure'! And he said 'well you're going to have to, because we're doing it on Tuesday!'
Adam Green Could not agree more with you . I’ve heard a few different Live performances featuring Gail , and this one is the absolute best !! R.I.P. David .
As a dedicated Bowie fan, I Can’t believe I’ve never heard this rendition. Gail Ann Dorsey brilliant vocal just the right timing & balance with David. With all do respect to Freddie this one is a keeper. As Bowie would say love on ya
I saw this tour at the nec in Birmingham, one of my favourite gigs ever. The piano following the bassline is sheer genius, Gail Ann Dorsey's voice is as wonderful as her bass playing!
The Reality Tour was outstanding! David was firing on all cylinders! When he and Gail performed this the crowd went crazy! I feel fortunate to have seen him twice on this tour.
So many thanks! This song is out there in many versions..but this one has Bowie's voice hitting it exactly the way that moves me...Dorsey is always bright and brilliant...not just a performance...but a touching anthem.
I'm incredibly grateful to you for posting this...it's the version that resonates with me the most...and had disapeared. Thanks for bringing it back to me.
I respect how Bowie always just sings his part. But Freddie is the only one who can sing both parts flawlessly. Freddie is just amazing but Bowies voice is so unique, like he is auto tune lol!! Seriously this song is ao powerful and timeless ❤
The way that Bowie and Dorsey look at each over during the line "this is our last dance" gives me goosebumps ❤ thank you for sharing the link with the video. I'm 24 and was brought up listening to Bowie... and this song reminds me of singing this with my father ❤
what many don't understand is Freddie had very little to with the withing and recording of the original it was Bowie and the other Queen band members, and if listen to music both set of Artists were producing at the time Under Pressure much more a Bowie type of song than a Queen song
Jesus very close to the real deal (Freddie). They did an amazing job! My roommate was not really paying attention and I asked him if he knew who was singing this and he said Freddie & Bowie!!!! Then upon being told it was Gail & Bowie he took a better listen and then knew it was not Freddie at all, but he did say that the hi pitched parts really sound alot like Freddie. No one can fill Freddies shoes I know, but I think it is still a great job.

41 downvotes? WTF David didn’t ask her to do much? Just morph into god for a few minutes and improve the Bass and be the only person to ever credibly pull off Freddy’s parts. No one else’s ever has come close.
Imagine Freddie & Gail in the studio high on blow trying to outperform each other vocally and Bowie, also very loaded hearin Gail and he just goes "Ah shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, those two win this round, Imma head out!!!"

Gail Ann Dorsey is so gifted but unfortunately underappreciated. Her name and talent should be getting more well known!

Lovely lady. Bowie was lucky to have her in his band.

By far the best version of this song with all due respect to Freddie and the others.

Dublin 2004. I can honestly say that in over 30 years of gig going, this made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. Totally unforgettable.
Not just bowie and Gail but the whole band is killing it
I was blessed to have seen this version live in Winnipeg. Rest in peace you musical chameleon. Your brilliant mind shaped music for decades.

I'm incredibly grateful to you for posting this...it's the version that resonates with me the most...and had disapeared. Thanks for bringing it back to me.
David tu nous manque.......
Gail Ann Dorsey makes this song FLY!!!!!!!
That's the perfect way to describe it! Has she ever recorded a solo album?

Amazing!! Sheer energy!!!!
I respect how Bowie always just sings his part. But Freddie is the only one who can sing both parts flawlessly. Freddie is just amazing but Bowies voice is so unique, like he is auto tune lol!! Seriously this song is ao powerful and timeless ❤

I'm fairly sure this is from a reality tour concert in dublin from 2003.
I think so too. I was at that gig. Fantastic concert, especially this song!
It is
I have this on a double cd ,and it says "A Reality tour was recorded November 22 and 23 2003,at the Point Depot in Dublin ,Ireland
But it says in the description of the video - 1997.
Brillant
SO GOOD
This and the MSG version are Great
I like David very much
What kind/model of Gibson guitar is bowie playing here?
Entdeckt,(8.5.2016).
Thanks for the post.
Hero!!!
Anyone know what guitar Bowie is using in that picture?
what many don't understand is Freddie had very little to with the withing and recording of the original it was Bowie and the other Queen band members, and if listen to music both set of Artists were producing at the time Under Pressure much more a Bowie type of song than a Queen song

Wow. She sounds exactly like Annie Lenox.
I like Annie a lot, but Gail Ann blows her out the water. I've seen them both live and Gail Ann gave me chills.
For the video go here... vimeo.com/63826209
'Wail' Ann Dorsey ;-)
triste pour David
imagine Freddie Mercury and Gail Ann Dorsey.
Imagine Bowie and Gail Ann Dorsey
Imagine Freddie & Gail in the studio high on blow trying to outperform each other vocally and Bowie, also very loaded hearin Gail and he just goes "Ah shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, those two win this round, Imma head out!!!"
Who is the person who can give a thumb down on this????
In one question: HOW DARE YOU? 😱
uh !!!!
Better than Fredie🤙
It's good, but it's never as good when anyone tries to perform it without Freddie.Good performance, but Mercury would have made it better.
Disagree
R.I.P.😢 David Bowie. .Rock out in the afterlife 😇
