Thank you so much Nicky! Wish all tutorials were explained this straightforwardly and with noteworthy details. You just made my tree trimming task so much easier.
Thank you so much. I've searched and searched and finally found the answer to how the tree pruner pole works on your video. I didn't understand how the string worked with the saw blade. Now I know it's 2 different cutting options, saw and pruning.
Thanks for this Nicky! Beautifully straight forward demonstration of how to attach rope properly (which I accompanied with a cup of coffee) - and now back out to continue pruning my greengage tree! One happy bunny!
Needed to re string my pole, so much this was very helpful. I never knew what the saw was for.... someone gave this pole pruner to me with an ‘extra’ saw! Haha :) now it’s sorted!
Thank you! I had to replace the rope on my pruner. I carefully photographed the knot at the top, but I forgot to take note of how the rope was threaded through the pulley! You solved my problem!
Haha thank you me and my sister were having alot of trouble trying to understand just what this tool was! Thanks for the straight to the point tutorial!
Hi Nicky, Thanks for the informative video. The south of France rocks! My 14' Corona Pole trimmer was slipping at the extension clamp after fourteen years of good duty from tall Cedarwood trees that allowed racoons access to the roof in Lake Tahoe, to endlessly seeding Arica Palms on Maui. I ended up sawing off 1/4" of the tapered clamp and, ...Voila!. My favorite tool again. It also has 2:1 purchase which helps cutting larger branches. Cheers, stay well!
Really happy with this tree trimmer.ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHMc_g3gGUpXsBlcRniL7qDnlxwo192gi I’m a DIY home owner with a good many trees for a suburban home. I’ve trimmed two trees so far. The pictures are from the biggest tree that I’ve trimmed. The poll length is about all I could manage with the weight of the saw on the end. I use this while on a ladder, and while standing on my roof to trim the tree in the picture. I haven’t had any problems with the saw getting stuck (pinched). It’s been pretty easy to get out when it starts to get pinched, and I just saw from the bottom or cut a V. The battery life is good. I only have one battery, and it lasts long enough to cut a yard full of limbs that I then cut down with my electric chain saw while recharging the battery. I haven’t had any problems with the pole extensions, and they seem sufficiently sturdy. No problem yet with the chain coming off. I have this problem all the time with my plug in chain saw. Plus, how cool is a chain saw on a pole!
I bought my first pole pruner (and saw) yesterday for my ochard. I tested it this morning. It's pruner with a rope too, and this morning my string got stuck in the pulley... Need more practice... It cuts really easy . Super tool for high branches, no ladder needed.
Thank you for the restringing help. For me, I find the pole saw also to be one of the most fun lawn tools to use too, this fun end once using the saw part, but I was surprised at how thick of a branch I could cut with the saw.
Kudos to you ma’am. I couldn’t remember how to restring my Fiskars pole pruners but now I do thanks to you. One teenie tiny suggestion….. bring the camera much closer when u perform the restringing which will allow viewers to see which side of the pulley system you are bringing the rope thru and where on that pulley did u tie the rope. Happy pruning and happy new year. Aren’t u cool living in France. Texas is a wee bit hot for some plants and shrubs but Mediterranean garden would fair pretty well. Happy trails.
Thank you for the great presentation! Perhaps some lubrication at the union where the pole pruner adjusts might restore the old pruners telescopic capacity.
Ahahaha I had it wrong all those years, only managed to put the rope over one pulley. Thanks for making this. Not as bad as her "incorrectly strung" demo, but I gave up a lot of mechanical advantage.
You mean the one with a red cord and a wooden peg handle on the end of the cord? There’s one at the top and one at the bottom of the bladed end. There should be a rod behind the top pulley. You will start with the end of the cord there, just tie a knot around it and let the rest of the cable hang. Then thread the entire line behind the bottom pulley (on the inside). Then around and straight back up to the inside of the top pulley, coming around that and back down and out. Then it’s threaded. Here’s an imgur pic of a fully threaded 14’ pole saw/pruner. imgur.com/gallery/zb6w26n
What make is your tree branch pruner? For only 17 euro its great value. I thought i would need to pay out a lot more for one. so it would be great to know what make yours is and where you got it as i would need to buy one online very soon as its still in lock down where i am and i don't even know if some stores are open online.
Thanks for showing how to restring the pole pruner. My problem is that my pole pruner is also stuck in the extended position and I am trying to figure out how to fix it. I have tried WD-40/CRC greaser but I still can't get it to budge. Anyone have any ideas of how to fix this problem?
So basically if you’re a woman, you need someone else to pull the cord while you hold it in place. I’m looking for something which a not very strong woman can use alone.
Thank you so much Nicky! Wish all tutorials were explained this straightforwardly and with noteworthy details. You just made my tree trimming task so much easier.
This is the best video when needing to restring pole trimmer! Big thank you!
Thank you for making this informative video. I needed to put a rope back on my tool and help around my friends yard.
Thank you so much. I've searched and searched and finally found the answer to how the tree pruner pole works on your video. I didn't understand how the string worked with the saw blade. Now I know it's 2 different cutting options, saw and pruning.
Thank you. Excellent presentation about fixing the rope.
Thank you for the re-roping demonstration, it was quite helpful in assisting me to replace the broken rope on my pruner.
Superb, just getting to grips with Mum and Dads old tools to make inroads into the neglected garden. I found this extremely helpful, many thanks.x

This is excellent! I found an old pole pruner in my garage and had no idea how to set it up and use it.
Thank you! I had to replace the rope on my pruner. I carefully photographed the knot at the top, but I forgot to take note of how the rope was threaded through the pulley! You solved my problem!
Your video on the pole pruner was sooo helpful. You demonstrated & explained it perfectly. Thanks so much😍

Thank you! Helped me to re-string! 😎👍
Thank you for the great presentation! Perhaps some lubrication at the union where the pole pruner adjusts might restore the old pruners telescopic capacity.
Thanks. Very good.
Thank you! Mine broke and I never once paid any attention as to how it was strung.
A very useful review. Thank you. Greeting from Shiraz
That was very helpful thank you! I kept threading it backwards haha
Ahahaha I had it wrong all those years, only managed to put the rope over one pulley. Thanks for making this.
Not as bad as her "incorrectly strung" demo, but I gave up a lot of mechanical advantage.
We have lost our spring off ours, any advice on what replacement spring would be best? Thanks :)
Should the blade be sharpened periodically? If so, a video about doing that would be appreciated. In any case, this video got a thumbs-up from me.
Perfection 🥰
Do you always keep it sharpened ?! It's pretty sharp works really good! My dulled quickly
I have exactly the white string pole you have. Would you please show me how to put new string for that pole pruner? thanks
Great video... did the trick for me. Thank you.
Was about to launch the pruner in the bin ,then see your video on how to re string ,thank you 👍
Do you have an link of where we can buy this?
Great Video. I am searching to buy a good Pole Saw. What do you recommend? Thanks!
Tanks for the info
Thanks. I’m trying to get wisteria out of my yard, the neighbors and I have a dog or two. I didn’t know how to put the rope in.
How would you re-string one with a double pully? Great video! Thank you

I tried something like this before and I found I didn’t have the strength to hold the pole with one hand, while I pulled the string with the other.

So glad I wasted 8 minutes of mobile data for help 'repairing' my pole. "Won't telescope anymore? BUY A NEW ONE for €17!" Well, THAT was helpful.
Have just seen this video. Mine got stuck and found lubricating it with oil did the trick!
I think the grand daughter should have been given more of a speaking role.
