This is a great video, but it (like all other search results I've gotten) doesn't give a decent, practical answer for a good way to store the rope that doesn't involve wrapping the pole with it. I get that winding the pole is nice and tidy and compact, but as I'm just a homeowner, most of the jobs I use it for only require getting it out, doing a quick prune, and putting it away again. Also, I was hoping to learn some new knotwork. 😆 Anyone here have pointers?
Look at the tool, store the tool. It's not rocket science, nor is it perfect. You could coil the rope, then pull to open the pruner, and lay the coil inside where it can be pinched. Not where the blade pinches, but where the the pulling part retracts when you release the rope. But, seriously, either way is gonna take a minute, and if that's too much time and effort, use a piece of duct tape.
Love the crows. This is just what I needed to get spring pruning done. Thank you.
EXACTLY the video I was looking for. Thanks for the help rethreading my pruner.

Thank you! Mine came off just as I started a big, two tree job. Because of this I was able to finish.
Almost just tossed the old one because of the shredded rope, thanks for the helpful video!!!

A simple fix for storage is a twisty-tie around the coiled rope. Then it hangs without tangling. Have a good day.
Hey, you got your hand in the way much of the time. Why show a diagram too?
