np. The core tier is for small BR players. Everyone gets a free pack and the cheapest packs are $10 and $20. You can build a top tier Core level lineup for less than $45 on the market by buying singles right now. Those cards can be used in all 21 weeks.

I would love this promo if they didn't cut/paste card art, every card is just slightly different from each series and different serial numbered. That's gonna kill collectiblity and stand alone NFT value. Also they need an exchange set. It's not our fault they added a bunch of junk cards. Yea i opened my common pack and I added a few extra cheap core players. I figure if I spend $10-$20 that’s the same I would’ve spent on a normal DraftKings weekly game and I can use the cards multiple times

Interesting, I opened free pack and got den wr that’s out for year and a kicker haha to start I’ll just put it in the Thursday- Monday slate since I have one player playing Monday, I’ll just play what ever slate my cards fit, kinda wish the lowest prize in these tournaments like win one core card, and if you have enough core cards of certain player you could power up to next level, that would make somewhat f2p and yes might take a long time to grind up. But I do find it interesting, this year I’ll stick to core and maybe purchase a couple core cards here and there. I think your right draft kings did a great job mixing collection games, nft’s, and fantasy sports all into one!
I get that. I think there are plenty of cheap core cards for people to build a main slate lineup in week 1 that will also be useable in other slates throughout the year.
The math as presented by that person, is off. It's going to be a money maker for DK, for sure but that doesn't prevent it from being a fun game that can be a massive money maker for the players as well.
Have you ever played Madden Ultimate team? You buy the cards, and can then make lineups to enter contests with those cards that you own to win real money.

Appreciate you sharing this info. I found it pretty overwhelming. Would you be able to do another video that explains all this supply that Reignmakers is dropping? There seems to be endless supply of packs and then also a secondary marketplace. And the packs are the same but different somehow? Can you explain all that simply?
They've stated before any packs dropped about exactly how many of each card there will be at every tier. So the pack drops are their way of distributing the entire set as previously announced.

Hey Al, clarify something for me please, if someone owns a Cooper Kupp in every rarity, that person is restricted to playing him one time in only one tier, and can't play all five of his cards in different tiered contests?

Don't they inherently own a big chunk of the core collection simply due to to fact that they open tons of packs? Putting in an optimal lineup would take just a few moments for them. That's my main concern when debating if I should dip my toe into this.
@@sitruk0815 It takes more than a few moments. Many of the high dollar players have liquidated their core cards and the vast majority will want to compete at the higher levels. It's more time consuming to put in lineups in RM than DFS so their time will be allocated to the smaller fields at higher tiers and then onto their high stakes DFS lineups. I'm sure some will have lineups in Core, but they won't be "attacking" core if that makes sense. There's just not enough hours in the day to grind it all out. Especially on a sunday morning.
Excuse my smooth brain, I may have missed this but are there different point bonuses for playing superstar/higher tier cards over core cards. Example: 2 players same lineup but one player has a superstar or higher tier card. Will they beat the other guy and claim the higher prize? I get that the tier of card is the ticket to playing higher stakes but unclear on playing down provides any advantage.
You own them, you keep them but there will be a 2023 set for play in the main games in 2023 just like ultimate team. Unlike ultimate team DraftKings has said they’ll have contests for 2022 cards in 2023 as well as a burn mechanism for them pre2023.
I’m not sure what happened to my comment so I’ll try this once more. This seems like a rich man’s game. A 2022 Elevate Reignmaker pack is $30k, which to me seems absurd. That seems more like a game for professional athletes to jump in on. I’ve played quite a bit of DraftKings, but haven’t had much luck at all. The vast majority of the time, I end up losing my contests by a point or less, and the rest of the time by slightly more. Far too often I’ve even lost them by 0.1 points, or run into H2H contests in which my opponents ended up drafting the exact same lineup, resulting in DK being the only winner by taking the rake, which seems absolutely ridiculous, but it’s actually true. If one isn’t/wasn’t capable of winning in DK prior to Reignmakers, it seems such a person would be making a very poor choice to try his luck in Reignmakers. With that said, I still don’t understand much of the basics, which is why I’m posting this comment. From what I gather, those who buy the more expensive packs have a better chance at getting the better players, but they still of course aren’t guaranteed to get the players they’re seeking (unless they purchase such from an auction). So unlike the conventional mode of DraftKings, whereas one has the entire pool of players to choose from, in Reignmakers, one has to buy players, or at least buy packs, hoping to find the desired players to insert into a lineup. And then, you’ll be competing in contests against unlimited participants. I apologize in advance if I ask anything already covered, but I’ve been reading and watching a number of videos, but haven’t had time to watch and read everything in its entirety. I get that when playing in a CORE contest, one can only have 1 Superstar in a lineup. I imagine one doesn’t have to insert a Superstar into that lineup, but that it would generally be a good idea to do so. I realize one can obtain such a player in a Superstar pack, but can they also ever be found in a normal CORE pack? I imagine 2022 cards become obsolete at the end of the season. Do they simply disappear after the season ends or are prior year's cards still viewable, but simply unusable? If one has an ELITE or LEGENDARY player, which I imagine can only be found in those sort of packs, can they enter one of those cards into a CORE contest’s lineup? Really hoping you see this, I’m trying to enter a contest on draft kings and for whatever reason some of my cards that I own aren’t showing up for the position, for example my super star cd lamb will now show up in wr spot, it’s an all core contest which all my cards are so I’m having trouble understanding why I can’t put him in as well as a few others
@@alsmizzle I actually found out that the contest only had 13 of the 16 matchups for week 1, one of them being missing was Dallas versus Tampa bay which is why I couldn’t play cd lamb, this is for the Gary vee contest, would you happen to maybe know why they wouldn’t have all the match ups ? I think people are (understandably) tuning out after seeing 15k+ cards. Everyone gets a core pack for free, so maybe try appealing to us poor folk and open a core pack and try to build a cheap value lineup starting with those cards. Focus your videos on core first instead of reignmakers.
You can use all the same players at core for much cheaper prices. Nobody is tuning out when they see those cards on the screen, I have the analytics and the viewership goes UP when I show high value cards. You can build a top 10 lineup on "optimals" for week 1 with less than $50
there's parts of this that are intriguing to me but at the same time other parts that are just meh. there's a cool underlying concept to this but turning into an nft thing makes it only as strong as the demand. there is no way to upgrade my Auden Tate card without someone else to wanting an Auden Tate card, so I'm just stuck in perpetuity with this card for a garbage player on a garbage team
Because you're losing doesn't mean the game is "tailored to whales". Gotta look at yourself and find out what mistakes you're making and how you can improve in your card selection, market work, game selection or lineup builds.
I absolutely ❤ you AL. I would be interested in knowing if there were any lineup construction changes we learned from last seasons data form the wining lineups. I noticed that RB was a little more viable in the flex, but what do I know 🤔 because it looks like a lot of under $4000 WRs seemed viable as well.
Haven't seen the data but I don't rely on one year samples since we have so many years of data to compare and contrast now. We pretty much know what works.
How would you recommend their company get into the functional NFT space? Your comment reads as if your issue is that they are trying to do anything with NFT’s in general. Any game would increase their NFT market share as they aren’t really in it as of yet since it’s a new space… You can say the game doesn’t make sense to you without injecting nefarious action by a company simply seeing if their user base demands something like this. We shall see how it rolls out… but not some NFT grab as these are functional and not for completely subjective collection purposes.
Thanks for this Smizz, I think I pretty much got the hang of it. Still a bit confused about the SuperStar thing, for example there is a set named "SuperStars" but even if you have a Najee Harris Booster or Genesis from Core, he still counts as a SuperStar, even if the card is not the SuperStar set one. Is that correct? Basically, if they are one of the seventeen SuperStar players in the SuperStar set, they can only be in the line up once, regardless of what set they came from, Booster, Genesis, Etc...
Superstars have the Star with the S in it by their name on the lineup build screen. Only one can be used per lineup and they can not move up a tier. That's it. As simply as I can put it. Every version of that player card is tagged as a "Superstar"
Wow this is so much misinformation. The only thing I’ll comment on is the fact you said that higher level players won’t have enough players to compete in lower tier. “My collection of cards that I can play that week is going to be taken out of circulation by the cards I’m playing at the higher tiers, leaving the core players to themselves.” My guy… if they spend thousands on a single pack to get legendaries then they have enough money to make a lineup for every single core contest. You’re just trying to galaxy brain a way out of conceding it’s pay to win and lower tier players don’t stand a chance.
It's not at all misinformation. Time is the most valuable resource anyone has and if you think nosebleed players who play RM and Leg modes are going to spend all the time in the world building out lineups one at a time for Core tier one at a time in reignmakers instead of focusing on the $10,000-$250,000 they have in play in DFS you just don't have any idea of how high stakes players think or work. Sure, they COULD spend all week buying and creating a bunch of $40 lineups for a $100k GPP in core which would be massively -EV...but they're 100% not going to do that.

I think that’s 100% the way to go. Start with the free Core starter pack, buy a couple cards you like to fill out a lineup, play the game for cheap.

Each card, not each player. If you have 5x Kupp cards, you can make 5 lineups that feature Cooper Kupp

That’s a lot of questions that could be answered by reading the FAQ on the DraftKings site. If the project interests you you should really read more into it.
Really hoping you see this, I’m trying to enter a contest on draft kings and for whatever reason some of my cards that I own aren’t showing up for the position, for example my super star cd lamb will now show up in wr spot, it’s an all core contest which all my cards are so I’m having trouble understanding why I can’t put him in as well as a few others

@@alsmizzle I actually found out that the contest only had 13 of the 16 matchups for week 1, one of them being missing was Dallas versus Tampa bay which is why I couldn’t play cd lamb, this is for the Gary vee contest, would you happen to maybe know why they wouldn’t have all the match ups ? I’ve tried looking everywhere

I think people are (understandably) tuning out after seeing 15k+ cards. Everyone gets a core pack for free, so maybe try appealing to us poor folk and open a core pack and try to build a cheap value lineup starting with those cards. Focus your videos on core first instead of reignmakers.
You can use all the same players at core for much cheaper prices. Nobody is tuning out when they see those cards on the screen, I have the analytics and the viewership goes UP when I show high value cards.
You can build a top 10 lineup on "optimals" for week 1 with less than $50
there's parts of this that are intriguing to me but at the same time other parts that are just meh. there's a cool underlying concept to this but turning into an nft thing makes it only as strong as the demand. there is no way to upgrade my Auden Tate card without someone else to wanting an Auden Tate card, so I'm just stuck in perpetuity with this card for a garbage player on a garbage team

Because you're losing doesn't mean the game is "tailored to whales". Gotta look at yourself and find out what mistakes you're making and how you can improve in your card selection, market work, game selection or lineup builds.
I absolutely ❤ you AL. I would be interested in knowing if there were any lineup construction changes we learned from last seasons data form the wining lineups. I noticed that RB was a little more viable in the flex, but what do I know 🤔 because it looks like a lot of under $4000 WRs seemed viable as well.
Haven't seen the data but I don't rely on one year samples since we have so many years of data to compare and contrast now. We pretty much know what works.

How would you recommend their company get into the functional NFT space? Your comment reads as if your issue is that they are trying to do anything with NFT’s in general. Any game would increase their NFT market share as they aren’t really in it as of yet since it’s a new space… You can say the game doesn’t make sense to you without injecting nefarious action by a company simply seeing if their user base demands something like this. We shall see how it rolls out… but not some NFT grab as these are functional and not for completely subjective collection purposes.
Thanks for this Smizz, I think I pretty much got the hang of it. Still a bit confused about the SuperStar thing, for example there is a set named "SuperStars" but even if you have a Najee Harris Booster or Genesis from Core, he still counts as a SuperStar, even if the card is not the SuperStar set one. Is that correct? Basically, if they are one of the seventeen SuperStar players in the SuperStar set, they can only be in the line up once, regardless of what set they came from, Booster, Genesis, Etc...
Superstars have the Star with the S in it by their name on the lineup build screen. Only one can be used per lineup and they can not move up a tier. That's it. As simply as I can put it. Every version of that player card is tagged as a "Superstar"

The only thing I’ll comment on is the fact you said that higher level players won’t have enough players to compete in lower tier.

My guy… if they spend thousands on a single pack to get legendaries then they have enough money to make a lineup for every single core contest.

It's not at all misinformation. Time is the most valuable resource anyone has and if you think nosebleed players who play RM and Leg modes are going to spend all the time in the world building out lineups one at a time for Core tier one at a time in reignmakers instead of focusing on the $10,000-$250,000 they have in play in DFS you just don't have any idea of how high stakes players think or work.
Sure, they COULD spend all week buying and creating a bunch of $40 lineups for a $100k GPP in core which would be massively -EV...but they're 100% not going to do that.
man i love your breakdowns and honesty on all of this. I'm not 100% sure its something that i'm really going to dive into full boar...budgetary constraints might limit me to the core players for right now but i do like the concept!

You can build a top 20 Week 1 optimal lineup in Core for like $40. Nothing you just said makes any sense. Creating slippery slope, straw man arguments that sit at an ultimate extreme will never be any way to discuss anything intelligently. Come back to us in the world of reality.
