OUTSTANDING video! I REALLY miss my time I spent in Ag Cats... awesome aircraft. Last one I flew was a B model with a Garrett on the nose. Noisy old screamin' workhorse of a plane... LOVED it!
What an incredible video ! With the forward mounted camera you can really see just how fast your Cat is going and it's really moving ! I am really envious , I bet you can't wait to get to work each day , must be a wonderful feeling. Thanks for sharing your video . Hope you make some good money with your Turbine Cat and fly safe !
During my high school years I worked for a local crop duster in Northeast Nebraska. His son and I had dreams of becoming ag pilots after graduation. His son enlisted in the Marines and I was not physically able after having medical problems. A classmate of ours however, became an ag pilot and was tragically killed a few years later in a crash. The concentration levels and skills of ag pilots still to this day mesmerizes me, you fliers truly are the "Blue Angels" of the family farms.....
on one pass I saw animals ( deer maybe?) that you passed over. Did you see them prior to the field run? Looks like you have hands full flying. Are there specific instruments you catch a glimp of that are important more important than others, and what are they? Professional workmanship shows in this video. I love it.
Perhaps the Dos Equis guy will now have to hand over his job as the worlds most interesting man to you? Everything from scaring aunt in airborne Volvo (which was quite good by the way) , wheelie king, to applicator pilot . These are wonderful videos to watch. It would be interesting to see a video narrated by you describing any details your willing to share about what you do.
Great rudder work, most civil pilots just think they are just for brakes. Ag flying makes you use all control surface.Bet that cat could not do the 800 foot climb up that hill with a radial. Thank P&W for the pt-6.
Spectacular! I would imagine that this would be a difficult job for someone to get started in. Probably need at least a commercial pilot certificate, right?
Great footage! I miss the old Cat and the mirrors on the top wing. I was going to film some rear-facing footage in the 502 this season, but couldn't get enough wide screen from the camera without mounting it outside. Maybe I'll try a GoPro next season. 35 years as an aerial applicator and still going strong (well, maybe getting a little tired)
this is pretty .I never saw before view like this ,I mean because I am a pilot too .But this a great idea !!! put a camera like this ,cool. thanks brother for share this video.:)
@jaredsega Ah ok! that makes pretty good sense! Cool stuff! I like ag planes, looks like a real cool job, im in school right now for A&P. I hope to get started on a private licence one of these days. For now I fly R/C. Im in the process of building a 15% scale AT-401B. It will be a fun one to fly! It to will have a smoke system mostly for show but i thought about trying some citronella lamp oil for smoke fluid, so perhaps i can drive off some bugs at the flying field! Anyway, thanks!
Este foi o unico video de aviação agricola que me emocionou mesmo, este ano de 2012 começo a minha caminhada para o ramo da aviação no qual espero a mais de 10 anos ...parabens
I noticed the smoke spot you left on the end of the swath, is that to know where your last swath was at? Ground applicator, working on my pilots license, and I can say, my job is easy, we only go 12 mph, but we manage up to 5 different products, or in my case, 3...dry, liquid, and alfalfa seed all at the same time. Great vid man and stay safe.
Great video! And great music. What sort of camera do you have? I fly an Ag-Cat on tourist work and I'm sure passengers would love to see themselves in the front seat. Very clear images (and great flying too!).
@financiero07 The smoke?? u mean the flag i dropped? the smoke is to tell what the wend is doing. The flags are to give a visual reference along with the GPS
really nice view, one of a kind video. keep sharing please....just one question, why don´t you have a gps?, havin a 300k airplane i figure it aint that hard to spend 10k on a decent one
I do have GPS. Flags are used occasionally as a reference when focusing on other things and it's hard to look at GPS. Especially when flying very difficult fields.
its so neat too watch you guys do this . it be a awesome job to have.. I have one question though , do you guys ever worry about be exposes to all the chemicals or is it pretty safe to be around?
Flew Shaky-Jake & PW-985 G-164s years ago but, long-since a Snow/Ag-Commander/Thrush/Turbine-Thrush/Air-Tractor hand, I've never quite warmed to the jet-powered-biplane scene.
Way cool footage! Might I use a small part of it in my childrens educational television program on the Kentucky Educational Television network? Please let me know soon! Buck O'Connor OContom at yahoo dot com
Simply wonderful flying. I fly an RV9-A but dont take it that low often. I'd quit my day job if I could break into this field.
Great job flying Jared.
The best film about agricultural aviation I've ever seem. Beautiful place em good job!!
This video is fine art!!!! Precision, skill, nerve, focus, cool technology, and POWER!

The upper wing offers such a great vantage point for the camera. A great video, nicely done.
Aerial ballet... very nice.. and a nice choice of music too... thanks!

Awesome video! I swear I almost saw UCA lol. Excellent music selection as well. You're living the life, my friend.
beautiful view, nice music, great video
Exellent video! Beautiful countryside from the best seat in the house! Where is this? What was the puff of smoke? Do you have a smoke system on-board?
I bet 2700 lbs on the plane would make a very noticeable difference. Very well done video. What is the music?
@b1cc2 not annoyed i very much so appreciate people enjoying my videos! Yes the cat is new to me this year, it is a amazing machine!
Spectacular!

Awesome video, you got some power under the hood :)
@agcatdriver Yes the best handling spray plane that there is.
That plane kinda looks like it is a made from the spare parts of several differnt types. But hey, she don't have to be perty if she gets the job done.
@jaredsega Ah ok! that makes pretty good sense! Cool stuff! I like ag planes, looks like a real cool job, im in school right now for A&P. I hope to get started on a private licence one of these days. What a great job you have.

@ORLANDOGAMES Yes we learn a lot from filming our Spray pattern. and how its affected by turning and wind.
Amazing video!!
Great footage, may I use a small part of it in a news story? Please let me know!
ya I guess. as long as it shows Agricultur & AG Aviation in a positive light? can u send it to me first to look at? jaredsega@hotmail.com

@jaredsega all right then haha, i just thought because of the smoke in the first pass!, really cool plane by the way!,
Great video! And great music. What sort of camera do you have? I fly an Ag-Cat on tourist work and I'm sure passengers would love to see themselves in the front seat. Very clear images (and great flying too!).
@financiero07 $300K is short by quite a bit! I have a new Hemisphere Bantum touch screen. but the light bar is on vent in front of hopper!
@financiero07 The smoke?? u mean the flag i dropped? the smoke is to tell what the wend is doing. The flags are to give a visual reference along with the GPS
@mytmousemalibu Yes a smoke system how else can we tell what the wind is doing with our spray?!?!
Awesome channel, whats this song?
@jaredsega An In-Law used to make them, do you know who supplied them?
You guys are fierce..(All Ag Pilots)~
Impressive video!! How do you keep track of which parts of the field you have sprayed?
@stevenesmond2 GPS marks what swath i have sprayed and I do drop some flags but that is not totally necessary. i drop flags for faster turns.
@c6rocks thanks i love this piano piece.
really nice view, one of a kind video. keep sharing please....just one question, why don´t you have a gps?, havin a 300k airplane i figure it aint that hard to spend 10k on a decent one

Hey Jared, How does one get into this profession? My goal is to become an AirShow pilot, but I'd love crop dusting in between now and then

really cool vid
@jaredsega Thanks man :) Very interesting!
I want to do this so bad . What makes the puff of smoke now and then ?
+Flench AOM that is smoke we put out to tell what the wind is doing. so we can tell where our chemical could be drifting.
Different plane in video than cover photo
Same aircraft
@hunterTS4 every second the spray is on yes.
whats that 'smoke' at 1:08?
Flew Shaky-Jake & PW-985 G-164s years ago but, long-since a Snow/Ag-Commander/Thrush/Turbine-Thrush/Air-Tractor hand, I've never quite warmed to the jet-powered-biplane scene.
