    Just to see your lovely garden pond coupled to such a sophisticated filter system is a first for me. You have the best of both worlds, a lovely natural looking pond with a system akin to any professional Koi keeper. How satisfying to see your system deal with the removal of the finest debris. Love the Oase vac, I used to sell lots of Oase gear through the shop, they are great people to deal with and top products. Really looking forward to your next video with the new vac.👍

    Filter pads work from coarse to medium then fine filter floss would be after sponges. But this might mean more cleaning of the sponges . With heavier dirt in the sponges and less in the filter floss. It’s not your typical filter but works great in your case. Happy Birthday by the way .

    Terry great video again we never see you with any parisites Problems flukes tic ect your koi are always so healthy and look great do you do water tests on your pond or do any scrapes on your koi I surpose with such a great filtration system you don't get meny issues thanks for filming again always a pleasure to watch you 👍👍👍Ps happy birthday to Mrs lol

    • @Wrighty
      @Wrighty  4 года назад

      Hi Barry, and thanks. To be honest mate I've not had a parasite problem for over 2 seasons. In fact, I think I've got some Flukesolve that's gone out of date lol. I do a water test at least once a week to keep my eye on it. I have had a couple of fish flick this season but nothing to justify a scrape. Koi naturally have parasites anyway, which their immune system should keep under control. It's only if the koi get a bit stressed and out of sorts, the parasites can get out of hand and need treatment. I only net my koi if it's unavoidable. it's surprising how that can really stress them out, and a scrapes even worse. If I saw constant flicking or rubbing I would do a scrape, in fact I have a video of me doing one some time ago now on RUclips.
      Thank again mate, I'll pass on your best wishes to the wife. take care, Terry. PS. sorry if I went on a bit mate.

    Nice to see you upgrade to the Pondovac 4 mate. I bought one last year. What makes the difference is, the vac keeps on working while it's letting the water go, so no more stop-starting! :-)

    Hi Terry loving the vids always great to see what you are up to ! I noticed who have amalgam uv on your drum filter which is what I have on my drum wondered if you had changed the bulb recently changed mine water quality has always been very good but then went little bit bitte and not so clear since bulb change 👍.They recommend changing bulb every 600 odd hours about 22 months .Cheers

    • @Wrighty
      @Wrighty  4 года назад

      Hi Mark, thanks mate. yes, I remember reading that the bulbs should last about 2 years. Mines not been in that long yet mate, so not due for a change. If it's the bulb, I'd have thought you'd see either greenish water, or a brownish water colour. Green if it's not working at all, and brown if it's just damaging the algae bloom. It's just my thoughts mate, but if it's bits in the water, I'm not sure that's the UV. Algae bloom, as you will know is only 3 microns in size and not visible to the human eye. My pond always has bits floating in it, but that's down to the lilies and plants I have in the pond. Hope this helps mate, Terry.

    Have you got a wiring diagram for the electronics for the auto top up

    Hi Terry, hope you are well? Do you have a parts list or design available for the auto top up? This is something I am looking at implementing with a float switch if possible. Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻

    • @Wrighty
      @Wrighty  4 года назад +1

      Hi Ryan, were all well here mate thank you. I don't have any plans for it mate, sorry. The reason I've done it this way is so I can keep an eye on what water is going into the pond. If it was an auto top up, I could get a leak and not know. This way it would show. All I have is a solenoid connected to a triggered timer switch with a button and it works really well. Terry.

    Pond looking good as always. What type of mesh is in your seive? Read many posts online about wedge wire screens are only way to go with normal meshes clogging up too quickly.
