I was surprised to see how hard that Cobra pulls on the straights. I mean your car is no slouch either. Your brakes are impressive!

Did not realize the PDR had so many dark areas. I would upload another but don't feel like/am too lazy to sync the GoPro and PDR with a different session.

I watch this video from time to time! Still awesome! Still can't believe how that 03 04 checks out on the straights. Your car is amazing!

Clayton Yates yeah, that mustang is far from stock power levels! Events like this made me realize how outgunned I was on the straights. The car should have a bit more power for next year!

Eric Fleming I wish I had your power levels. My favorite event is probably LS Fest and on the road course I get pulled on so hard it's not funny. I lose 2 seconds just cause of the straights. Tighter the track the better the chance I have. Thinking going procharger but added heat can ruin a perfectly working car. Nasty na motor but not enough money for that avenue. What are you changing?

Nice video! What kinda time do you think you'd hit with no traffic? I was kinda surprised by the MPH, is that accurate? I was seeing 147 mph on my data logger in a stock C5, granted that was a cold October morning but I would have guessed you'd be closer to 160 mph.

My car will do about 155-158 down the back with the stock/OEM size wheels. I was running a slightly shorter 18" Forgeline and BFG Rivals which changes the gearing a little. The speedometer was adjusted in the tune via HP Tuners but I did not try to confirm with GPS. Remember too, the C7 Z06 has a good bit more aero drag than either the C5 or C6 and is not a top speed car. Even Tommy Milner's flyer lap in the automatic, with November air only touched 154 mph before he jumped on the brakes.
To answer the question about lap times with no traffic, the best I was able to manage this weekend was a 1:32.165. I am not sure if the track was just too warm, or if I wasn't pushing hard enough but I could not break out of the 1:32-33 range. Intake air temps (IAT1 - at the MAF sensor) were frequently 100+ degrees so track conditions were not ideal for a blower car to make good power. I do think a 30-31 lap was more than possible if I put together a clean lap but it just never happened.

Nice, I kinda figured the drag might play into it. Mind if I ask how it does as far as heat soak? Do you notice a difference in performance drop off vs your LS3 corvette?

The car gets warm, that isn't news at this point but the only real issue is with the automatics. Blower heat soak is certainly a thing but my lap times do not really taper off due to power reduction so much as they do because the tires get slick when it is hot out. I've never had any sort of noticeable power reduction or anything else to indicate the car was pulling power at full song. I typically try to run a little 110 or Torco/Boostane to keep the knock in check when on track too which I would like to believe helps to some degree. This car compared to the old LS3 in the 71 is completely different so very difficult to form a real comparison. That car is in the process of getting an LT4 swap if that tells you anything.

Ha! Thanks, that tells me everything I need to know.
