Thanks Greg, for sharing your Darth Baetis nymph. At "full screen," I noted that the clear cure goo you bathed the thread body with was dripping on the underside of the fly. I thought it odd, since you had zapped the goo with the curing lamp. Was the application time of the lamp not long enough? Again, at "full screen," it was certainly far clearer from my vantage point than yours. Thanks again, Bill Scrimpsher
Really nice little fly. I am happy to have found your channel. Thanks for sharing your pattern and congratulations on Umpqua picking up your fly for production and sale. I hope one day I can tie an effective original that will be picked up also. Something to shoot for right? All the best, Sean
Regarding the legs- have you noticed whether it's more effective to use slimmer material vs. these (kind of thick) fibers? Have you tried thinner synthetic (lazer dub or zlon) which might imitate gills better-- like Kelly Galloup's baetis nymph? Just curious.
At that point it would no longer be Greg's signature fly, the Darth Baetis. The beauty with tying is you can substitute materials and try things. One thing we have noticed is that this fly catches fish consistently all over our home state of Colorado.

Now that you've tied the Darth Baetis, you should tie the Carp Maul...

Nice pattern, but if you were to wear lighter colored shirts we all could see the fly MUCH BETTER against the lighter background. Just saying ! L 👍🎣👍
I agree. I kept thinking the contrast and lighting was not as good as the fly deserves.
@@MarkSkolnickrainbow3 thanks for the reply, that is a great pattern and excellent tie, thumbs WAY up. L 👍👍
