A short film about locomotives in the Blitz! Look out for the special 'War-trains' running video coming on Saturday! Thanks for watching! samstrains samstrains
Well, that was different. Loved it. Thanks for taking the time to produce a video with an alternative perspective. One of your locos (couldn't identify it), had a very good, realistic smoke generator fitted - would like to know more about it. Cheers, Angus.
+Angus Stewart (Waverley Cross) Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it! The smoke from the loco was just an effect that I added in post production! Cheers, Sam :)
+Sam'sTrains Glad the beautiful Q1 braved the bombardment - (the pilot must have been looking forward to the feature on the Q1 later in the year ( or forgot his spectacles ;) . Well made film.
Sam's Trains My number one favorite movie that took place in between Wednesday, July 10, 1940 and Thursday, October 31, 1940 is Battle of Britain (1969).
That was brilliant Sam....What another great idea....Terrific Air raid attack effect and 40`s music....Its that Golden Age of Radio again.....I would like to know...Where were the RAF !!! That raid should never have gotten through without Opposition Lol Lol !!
Thanks very much Adrian, really glad you enjoyed it mate! haha that's a good point - I didn't go into that much detail, lol! ;D Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I’m american and I find the blitz very saddening and scary....it’s a shame an A4 pacific was lost to a german bomb during one of the raids....I think it was gadwall under the name of sir Ralph wedgewood.....still very sad that all those innocent people lost their lives....
Thanks Dylan - it was very scary indeed, so I hear, yes it's a real shame that engines were destroyed as a result - but many people died too, which is far worse :( Thanks for watching - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains Some are scared of spiders, known as creepy-crawlies. Others are terrified of innocent little mice. I'm in the process of writing a double story about you. In the second story, a mouse is crawling over your T-shirt. How would you react to seeing a mouse gazing up at you and squeaking innocently?
Hi Sam, very nice short video showing British history. where has the viaduct come from and have you checked out the bachmann web page lots of new locos, rolling stock and train sets/packs. Cheers Mate, Lewis :)
+Lewis Shields Thanks very much mate! The viaduct was just a drawing - you can see it on my facebook page in the behind the scenes clips! And yeah, I've seen some of the exciting new locos! :D Cheers, Sam :)
Sam'sTrains Thanks mate. I really thought the viaduct was real well done on the drawing. I will definitely be getting the s&djr 7F loco to go with my Jinty and 2P. Cheers mate, Lewis:)
+Mosley Tarmacadam 087 That's what Hornby calls it, but they also sold it in Southern livery, so I wouldn't be so sure about it being a real class. Yes, I know that a "Pug" is a small 0-4-0 saddle tank but I think that that's the name commonly used to describe these Hornby locos. Cheers
Hi Sam - well I got lucky here! But these days, I don't use copyrighted music; I either record my own, or use royalty free music - check out a website called Incompitech! :D Cheers, Sam :)
This one came from my collection of music - I don't remember where I would have found it originally - though it may be on youtube! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Very sorry that early comments have been lost, please feel free to re-post them!
Cheers,
Sam :)
Sam'sTrains Is The Fricking Purge Going On?

Omg this video came out in 2016, oops...
I'm looking forward to the war trains day! (if it's the blitz (which took part on 1940) the Q1 time travelled back 2 years ;)
+Why Not? Thanks mate, hope you like it! And busted, I didn't realise that!
Thanks for watching/commenting!
Cheers,
Sam :)
Should have had Gadwall up and running and blew her up instead of the little tank engine
haha that's true, but I didn't want to hurt one of my A4s ;D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
I am about to start a war layout thanks to this great video
Ooh awesome - good luck with the layout mate, sounds fantastic! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)

Thank you for an Excellent video.
And That's Why they had war livery's so the trains couldn't be seen by the planes!
+Mr.Train Lord Of Pineapples haha yeah - It didn't work on my railway ;)
Pretty much what the engines had to go through during the black out, very well made, Sam.
Thanks very much mate - it was just a bit of fun, but glad you liked it!! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)

Yeah I did Roger! :D

very atmospheric, Sam!
+Mitchell Hogg Thank you! Glad you thought so! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
2:00 you couldn't do that with a T9; it would turn in to dust it's so fragile!
+Why Not? haha yeah, I'd end up with new T9-flavoured ballast! ;)
Hey Sam thanks for suggesting this video the UK blitz was bloody scary
No problem! Yeah it was - a horrible time really :/
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)

Thanks for watching - Sam :)

All the best,

Did anyone notice there was no light coming from the fire until the Q1 came into view? :/ 1:50 Rip LSWR 0-4-0 :(

0:52 viaduct?!?!

+Sam'sTrains WOW! fooled me. I'm as ever astounded by the professionalism of your videos.
+Sam'sTrains ok. it looked, very edited in. ;)
what is this about
It's just a bit of historic dabbling - trying to recreate something from WW2 - not too realistic, but I enjoyed doing it!
Cheers,
Sam :)
