    The mindset of the commoners is that they don't care who and how is the king. They just wanted to celebrate whether its caesars or pompey.They don't actually honour them and love them.

    Thank you ma'am for this beautiful explanation. According to me, the common people don't have their own opinion.They are just controlled by others.When Pompey came back from war they praised him,now when julius caesar is coming back rome after defeating pompey's sons they are praising him and again when flavius and marullus scolded them (told them all these..) they again are feeling guilty and went home.That's all.
    Please mam do share your opinio about it.

    the mindset of the commonars is that they used to celebrate pompley victory but now they are celebrating Caesar's victory after Flavius and Marullus manipulated them and convinced them

    Pompey defeated caesar in 48 BC at the dyrrhachium. Merrullus speaks about this victory so he is asking the commoners to weep over their ingratitude.

    According to me,
    Mindset of commoners is that they praise and welcome whoever wins and returns after victory. They do not have any personal affection with anyone whether it is Pompey or Julius Caesar.

    Yes, of course, Caesar defeated Pompey but here in this context (line 42), denotes the Victory of Pompey. Plz correct me if I am wrong.

    We can understand tht the commoners had a mindset in such a way tht they could be manipulated by anyone so easily... emotionally manipulated if tht makes sense...basically marullus is trying to make them feel badd and guilty for what they've done and change their mindset to that of his

    The commoners are two faced as they first used to fully support Pompey when he was there...but now when Caesar won against the sons of Pompey they are rejoicing for Caesar this shows disrespect and ingratitude towards Pompey
