    Here is a veritable essay on some basic stuff about Avorion.
    Trade systems have different tiers of quality like all of the upgrades, the rarity goes: petty, common, uncommon, rare, exceptional, exotic, and legendary. If I remember correctly you have to have a rare one for it to remember 1 jump back, but it will also tell you trade routes in the area it shows so no need for writing any of that stuff down.
    When you are making a ship you want to use all Titanium for the ship to keep the weight down, that allows for far more mobility, Iron should only be used for inertia dampeners because it is ridiculously heavy. When you get to Naonite you want to upgrade all function blocks(generators, gyro arrays, energy containers, engines, etc.) to it but keep all hull, armor, and crew quarters as titanium. When you get to Trinium you want to change ALL the ship blocks to that, Trinium is lighter and far stronger than titanium. Xanion is like Naonite, only use it for function blocks. Ogonite is insanely heavy but has the highest durability in the game so only use if for armor if you need to, it also makes for good generators. Avorion is used for everything except armor, being the endgame metal it is supposed to be used for basically your whole ship at that point.
    More than one ship can use the same dock at the same time just come in at an angle.
    CREW PAY IS ONLY TAKEN EVERY THREE HOURS OUR TIME!!
    Crew is insanely important, untrained crew is not how you want to crew your ship. When you hire dedicated crewmen they will level up over time and will actually provide more workforce per person, level 1 provides 1.5 workforce, level 2 provide 2 workforce, and when the top off at 3 they provide 2.5 workforce. If you can you want to ALWAYS hire dedicated crew, it saves money in the long run, also having more workforce than it calls for in engineers and mechanics will allow you to go up to 130% efficiency in those fields, more engineering means more speed and more mechanics means faster repairs after damage.
    Captains are essential on all your ships, they allow you to give orders on them without actually being in them. Having a captain running a mining ship is far more efficient than mining yourself, the a.i. has better aim and faster reaction time than a player allowing for faster mining of asteroids.
    Asteroids come in four flavors: normal stone, resource, rich resource, and claimable. If you are going to have a dedicated mining ship you want to put a mining system upgrade on it so that it can find the rich asteroids that are normally hidden.
    You do not need to go to the map screen to give orders to a ship, you can also just select it with middle mouse and press F to open an interaction menu, there is an order section.
    Never ignore the warning that says your ship is to weak, the game will send enemies called persecutors that will kill a ship that has that warning for too long so always make sure you put enough firepower on your ships to get rid of the warning.
    The game will only generate events(pirate attacks, faction attacks, headhunters, xsotan incursions, mobile merchants, etc.) only when you yourself is in the sector, having a captain controlled ship alone in a sector will not trigger events(except persecutors as far as I know).
    Object detector upgrades are what tell you that there is a valuable object detected but you need to have a higher quality one to see the object, and it has a short range until it gets to exotic.
    Hyperspace upgrades just ad a set amount of range not a percentage upgrade so they help more before you get the hyperspace core blocks.

    When you go to the shipyard to order a new ship, if you select "Single Block", it will give you the single block ship that founding a new ship gives. Although with the shipyard you can order it with a captain and crew as well.

    "Y-wing"? - more like an "Arrow-head" :)
    1:46 - click an icon with the eye on it and filter to titanium generator only so we can see them
    2:50 - claiming asteroids takes NO money. There is always such an asteroid at your starting system. But its true they aren't spawning in every system
    8:00 - the point of building a ship in a shipyard is it gives you a Captain and he is pretty hard to find sometimes. You can scale ship to one block of iron.
    13:50 - no you can't see them, Spanj. The description refers to regular grey asteroids that have ore underneath thin layer of stone and there are a lot of them in every system probably more than a regular glowing one's.
    Hyperspace upgrade is good at every tier. Helps you get to naonite quicker. Though it takes s lot of energy to install.
    You have level 1 scanner installed, it will tell you that there is something valuable in the system, period. The green tier will include more staff in that category and I believe only blue tier will pinpoint the location but only from a short range. Basically you need very high tier module to be able to highlight objects in entire system.

    2:47 it does not take money to claim an asteroid. And they're incredibly easy to find, there's 3 ways to find them.
    1 you just stumble on it as you fly around
    2 you zoom all the way out, put the sun /light source and gradually zoom back in checking the fields
    3 you go into strategy mode and just look around.
    It's hard to see them if there's loads of big asteroids cluttered around them but usually it's smaller asteroids around them. They stick out like a sore thumb

    17:53 At the top center of that crew window you can tick the button for Auto Assign crew and not have to worry about crew assignments again.
    I just started a few days ago and one of the ways I found to make fast money (other than mining) is locate large asteroids that you can claim and sell them to the local clan. You can get 40-120k for each one. Only certain asteroids can be claimed and sold. They are always the largest ones and they are irregularly shaped. Most asteroids are egg shaped or flat and the claimable ones are kind of round with a bunch of protrusions off them. Generally I have found about 1 in each sector that has a large asteroid collection.
    Target the asteroid and then get within 0.20 of them then you can "F" to claim it. Then "F" again and sell.

    This game is starting to remind me of an old text-based dialup BBS game called Trade Wars (yes I'm that old school). A lot of what people did in this game was find all the trading ports and figure out who's selling low, and buying high for whatever products where out there. You also can own planets that produced said products automatically (over time) so you can grab them and sell them to a trading port that paid top dollar. The hyperspace upgrade upgrade your sector jump range no matter what,it's super handy early on,and even later on with more rare ones.
    Same for the valuable object,there are upgrade that tells you were they are in a x range km or a rarer one that tell you right away where it is.(they come with little storage stashes hidden in a cluster of asteroid,so you can check them for those stashes until you got these upgrades,by cluster i mean super cluster ones).
    Later on those trader upgrades tell you everything (of course the rarer the upgrade is the more info and features tells you,there are one called salesman thing,it tell you trade routes,prices,hot spots and cold spots for offer and demand if you want do it manually,buy in bulk in an offer sector thing (cheap) and sell in the cold part of the map (buy at high prices due to demand and zero offer) and so on..

    Nice to see you play Avorion as well! :-) Also it's nice to see that you are the noob now ;-) I've been playing Avorion for a few years.
    About the hyperdrive systems: these have advantages compared to a hyperspace cores: you don't need naonite, they can have a bonus of using less power to recharge or shorten the time to recharge the hyperdrive and when you have a better rarity hyperdrive system you can jump more sectors which is quite handy. So yeah, there worth it! And a captain salary: don't worry about that. Mining ships can mine a lot more of resources than the salary costs, especially when you add more mining turrets to the ship. And later on in the game, you will get much better mining lasers, you'll see.
    Oh, about the docking beam: the station must be selected and if you look good and are somewhat closer to a station, you can see the docking lanes in blinking lights. When you are in a docking lane (or close enough to) you'll get the docking beam option

    Hi Spanj, fyi: finding Valuable objects is easy as pie, get in the strategy mode (f9) and start to use the tab key in combo with space bar, if u spot a commandable object u know u found something. this is a great way of finding salvagable wrecks hidden stashes and ofc out of the way hidden asteroid fields, and claimable roids. now I know what ur thinking this is gonna take a loong time... no really... hold tab, position ur cursor over the last obect it was on then hit tab again and hold, if nothing pops up hit space and so on this way u cover 100 or 300 objects without having to go slow... my average is round 4 min to find what I need to.
    Selling roids = bad idea its far easier to build ur first ship and soon as u do grab a mining laser and send it off to mine, trust me in 3 hours of solid mining u will have plenty to cover the crew costs just sell some res.
    Noble mines :Gold and Titanium are a HIT and u canna go wrong with those
    soon as u can afford the investment... slam that down ASAP and there will be ur initial investment repaid in no time at all
    something that not alot of people have mentioned... do backup ur galaxy... failure to do could end up being unpleasent... (appdata/avorion/galaxies and find urs and copy it regularly ... theres a reason why theres a browse button up top... I trust this helps. Enjoy.

  • @seanwarren9357
    @seanwarren9357 2 года назад

    I had mentioned it on a different video what my control configuration was but it bears mentioning that if you have the high power usage systems on a toggle then it's almost like a matter of shifting gears to control the different levels of power usage and it can make your craft a lot more usable versatile because you can save weight on power generation as well as money and all that other stuff that you can save as well simply by toggling off your space e-brake and gyros when you're not breaking or turning and further you can turn off thrusters when not turning or when you're charging your jump drive...
    Because I use the shift key functionally as a crouch button in a lot of games I use shift key for down and I use the spacebar for ascending and then I use q and e to control my roll...
    I still have to remap my mouse thumb buttons which I have six and then I have two extra pointer finger buttons as well and all of those really need to be reconfigured to allow me to disable the heads up display into toggle those systems as well as boost and charge my jump drive in addition to toggling smooth look because with the inertial dampener off and smooth look on you can do some very useful things with fixed weapons particularly salvaging and mining. It does also really help to get something that will allow you to toggle the mouse click or any other buttons really as it can be very relieving to not have to hold the mouse button down when mining and in this game. Anyway those are just my pointers from the biggest quality of life improvements that I've noticed for this game and they really contribute to changing the way it feels.
    Also I really got to say I'm liking 2.0 a lot with the improvements to crew management and captains and I'm finally getting around to using the RTS controls more although they still need some things settled issues in particular with rotating the view of the mouse disables the ability to move viewpoint around as far as the plane in the X y and z goes I don't know it's weird.
    😒...
    Also I'm not quite certain about for other people what their settings are but on mouse or on the right mouse button it allows you to free look and zoom in but it also disabled the flight controls and I really wish we could resume flight control and lock the view with that because it increases the fov allowing you to zoom in almost as if you're looking through a scope but it's very difficult to utilize fixed weaponry when you use that and you can't maneuver at the same time...
    I guess I'm just kind of adding notes here LOL one of which is I wish we had a way to select colors or select blocks based on color so that we could place blocks of a certain color create color regions that can be selected in the selection tool similar to how we can just select engines or any other particular block type if we could do that with colors then we could reconfigure interior interior regions of shifts without the need to deconstruct anything or leave internal volumes which I don't really like doing I like to have a dent craft as once you start getting bigger the view becomes less manageable.
    Speaking of which last but not least I wish we could move the camera forward and backward in addition to zooming in and out and moving its focal point on the X and y plane the lack of z axis control really kind of sucks LOL... It's really just barely difficult to Target in three dimensional space when you have to manage the camera on a three-dimensional crap but you can only manipulate the view by two dimension
    I remember way back during very early release I had spoken with the developer about jump drive recharging and what could be done about that and he had said back then that it was part of the loading system that restricted how fast you could recharge your jump drive or that it was tied to it somehow I don't remember it's been so long but it does seem that there's been changes since then and now that I think about it I'm going to have to look him up and see if I can make some suggestions.
    🤔

    • @seanwarren9357
      @seanwarren9357 2 года назад

      I'd say the best fairly early money that I've made in this game was centered around what I've heard were called lost or forgotten battlefields and it's essentially like a salvage yard except it's not owned by anyone and the ships are generally military grade so they have a lot more functional blocks which means even if you find one that's in the titanium region of the Galaxy it can provide a significant amount of salvaged material in the form of titanium and iron but even more importantly all the modules that drop off of it can be sold for research to combine to affect huge profits if you can focus on salvage equipment. 😒

    • @seanwarren9357
      @seanwarren9357 2 года назад

      Also I've heard those areas referred to as ship graveyards or boneyards but I believe those refer to the less military style Depot systems...
      That said I'm guessing the type of ships in the graveyard are probably dictated by the faction that would control that space although now that I think of it they haven't been controlled by factions when I found them so really I don't know if that would be accurate.
