I agree with your observations completely! Though China is known for it's authoritarian government, the country itself is considerably one of the safest. As an American citizen who traveled to China, this is the case. Virtually most if not nearly all Chinese are welcoming and intrigued when they see someone from outside of the country. They can be quite friendly people, partly because they so rarely see people from outside of their country and partly because of the cultural background.
I have a new topic I think you should closer at because of the coming restrictions on travel The World Economic Forum is pushing, and as a Norwegian citizen I can tell you that if you are a Norwegian pensioner relying on your pension, then there is a rule saying you cannot live for more than max 6 months outside of Norway before they stop filling up your bank account with pension money. Then you see the problem if shutting down travel by air and so on. I do not know the rules for non Norwegian pensioners wanting to live outside of their countries, but it would be interesting to know. We also have the no cash agenda that will create new restrictions on travel when limited to "digi" that is NOT money when you can no longer freely decide what to buy or not, and from where. The agenda The World Economic Forum is pushing is worlwide, so it is increasingly difficult to say where best to live if you do not want to be locked into " A 15 Minute City" they are building or whatever. Look at the personal carbon quotas that is planned, and you see this is next level control for 100% control as we can see in China!

About the countries with the GREATEST RISK OF WAR and SOCIAL TURMOIL. 2. About the countries with THE BIGGEST DEBTS and IMMINENT RISKS OF FINANCIAL CHAOS. 3. About countries that have IMPOSED COERCIVE MEASURES, such as the OBLIGATION TO WEAR M@SKS and MANDATORY C0V. 19 SH0TS.
One of the things I consider when thinking of safety is, can one trust law enforcement? If you are at risk of crime from local law enforcement, I don't consider that to be a safe place.
Netherlands Japan France ( not just Paris, but the other towns or small cities) At the end, any country that is not car dependency, not pro suburbia life and has good education and have affordable heath care is ideal to raise kids since any one of these country with all these perks have low crime compared to others.

Australia has its issues with safety, one of our friend was pickpocketed i Sydney, another had her house burgled, car smashed in vandalism, harassments by strangers in trains, bike theft is rampant( yours truly has two bikes stolen)..I always think low crime rates in western countries are exaggerated or statistics tampered.
I don’t understand why people always praise Germany, when Austria is much more affordable and livable. Less crowded, lower crime rate, better weather and lower cost of living. Plus, Austria allows its citizens to own and carry firearms.
Why the obsession with safety and murder? Murders are extremely rare. I'm lived In Argentina for 7 years and I've never seen any violence and I paid a 100 dollar fine for a 3 year over stay.
Those who compiled the safest country index have obviously never been to NZ, in particular its biggest cities. Is there any country in the OECD that can match the number of ram-raids per day per capita to NZ? Have you ever heard in any country that a person convicted of multiple rapes get sentenced to home-detention only? Any country where dirt bikers can roam free on the roads terrifying other road-users with impunity? Any country where the gangsters population is swelling and get to intimidate the public and the cops won't do anything? Any country where homelessness is almost something to be proud of? Some people say but NZ is unique, I agree, NZ is uniquely sad and hopeless!

@robertl5298, here is the biggest problems of them all, YOUR belief of Global warming, climate changes, no more oil, no more carbon, no more meat. Well, according to Klaus, climate change is due to over population, and the goal is to reduce it to about 500 millions world wide. Correct, it doesn't matter where you live, when mother nature decides to clean up the hearth. Don't tell me the next generation is the FUTURE, when they don't know the difference between a horse and a donkey.
I understand some countries will accept you into their country as residents if you are retired and have a certain amount of money to take care of yourself. Is this accurate? My husband and I are 59 in Canada, recently both retired, and we are considering UK, but will consider other places; we haven't started our research yet. Thank you! And happy new year to you and yours!
As someone living in Canada & will be retiring at the same age myself. I would have to agree with the previous answers to your question. But i'd also look at Malaysia as well.
If you have plenty of money then UK is ok. But be careful where you live, more and more places are becoming sh*tholes...Also, the NHS is on its knees and lots of fat, lazy folk and now lots of criminal immigrants.
I always thought that the concept of "safety" is fairly useless on the scale of a country. It's even hard to apply it to a fairly big city where one district might be the safest place in the world with another being a crime zone, or having no decent medical facilities, or being next to something ecologically hazardous. There are of course cultural aspects or policies that can be generalised but at the end of the day calling a country "safe" does not really say much.
Agreed .. the people who make up these lists don't have a clue of the areas within a country never mind the areas of a city that are the safer places to live .. I live in Colombia and in a city of 300k the south end is completely unsafe .. the center is safe only during the day and the north which is clearly defined is as safe as most places on the planet

I had the upper hand of being Brazilian born and for obvious reasons (Brazil and Portugal were the same country for centuries and the capital of the Portuguese empire was in Rio for a while. Most people have never heard of that!) my family from both my mum and dad's side came mostly from Portugal (80% of the family really on both sides) and some from Italy and France, so I am a dual citizen. Proud to be Brazilian and Portuguese. Property prices are skyrocketing though and the country needs to create job opportunities for young people to stay in Portugal.
What about restrictions like push for v , tests, and masks?
@@MrCatlover portugal does what the other countries do. they will never do different.
@@MrCatloverPortugal has one of the highest rates of vaccination in the world. They were also still obsessed with masks long after the rest of Europe had dropped them. I am very reluctant to live amongst the Borg so still looking for an alternative.
Yes, property prices are becoming beyond the reach of the locals, because of wealthy Americans forcing prices up and behaving badly in general. ie maybe giving something back like setting up small businesses to employ locals might be one step in the right direction.
@@MariA-bu2jv What about Poland?? No euros, yet.
You should also compare the suicide rates, it's very telling
Selfishly, as the partner of a Japanese citizen, I'd love to see a plan for living in "high tax" countries like Japan, as, due to family reasons, I can't see me living anywhere else.
If you make a lot of money, (200k year and more) you bring them with you, they will benefit tremendously being in contacts with other culture and learning other languages.
Japanese culture IMO has very good attributes
@@zephyrr108 He wont, cause family speaks only Japanese and don't wanna leave.
Passport by Decent, I spend a lot of time in Bavaria and it is pristine, organized, beautiful and very easy going. Germany is big so some areas are not the same but the South feels very safe.
Agree, live in Munich - safest city I’ve ever known.
Bavaria is expensive
I always say, in order to be safe, don’t do anything stupid. Like walking alone at night if you don’t have to. Or locking your door. Always be in the mindset of what to do to keep yourself safe.
You don't have to worry about that in certain countries....
Walking alone at night is a normal thing in many countries
Or live in a sane country not obsessed with money and guns.
Look at the personal carbon quotas that is planned, and you see this is next level control for 100% control as we can see in China!
yup Western Europe is full blown totalitarian. I spent most of my life dreaming of living in Western Europe or UK but now I wouldnt live there if you paid me. Eastern Europe is less strict "for now". I can see travel bans coming like a huge freight train about to crash.
@@andreainnesmichailov7169 I agree. They plan perpetual climate hoax lockdowns. The next WEF meeting in Davos is just around the corner from 17 - 21 January, and we know the two main topics then will be pushing social digital ID and to crash cash. Once they have that in place they plan to physically go after the non vaxxed. Buildings around the world are earmarked for that purpose by the UN!
Similar restriction in the US if you're collecting social security retirement in oversea.

Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro- No Crime. People don’t know ;) Low Tax, low prices, educated and beautiful people.

I'm glad how you discuss all countries in the world. Most American expats only look at western countries or Mexico as options, but following you has opened my eyes to many countries in the world. Keep it up!
Mexico..are you kidding ?
Thailand, Philippines are packed with American expats.
Many times it's not what's the safest country.. it's what area you live in while in a country
Happy New Year to you Andrew, your family, and your staff! Thanks for all the hard work!
It seems to have forgotten to consider in these analyzes three main and vital points that we must consider in these new times of disorder:
19 SH0TS.
1. Joel Skousen strategic relocation
Hungary is not difficult, there are quite a few foreignersliving here and buying real estate and its very safe here !!!
Massive inflation, especially in food prices (and it's better not to mention the rest).

Strange...no mention of South Korea.
Switzerland is not part of the EU.
Australia and New Zealand are you kidding?
Do you know what happened with these countries last two years?
What kind of report is it ?
What happened??
One of the things I consider when thinking of safety is, can one trust law enforcement? If you are at risk of crime from local law enforcement, I don't consider that to be a safe place.
Good thought, you're right!
the best place is with ur family, friends and comunity
Netherlands
Japan
France ( not just Paris, but the other towns or small cities)
At the end, any country that is not car dependency, not pro suburbia life and has good education and have affordable heath care is ideal to raise kids since any one of these country with all these perks have low crime compared to others.

Germany Safe? You gotta be joking.
Singapore and many more Asian countries/cities should be on the top 10 list! This list is definitely so bias.
It's American, what do you expect. Their cities never make the most liveable in the world, ever. Melbourne was No 1 for 7 years in a row. Singapore is a beautiful city.
All of my income is pension income or draw downs from my IRA's. As I understand no matter where I move, I still have to pay taxes on that income in the USA.
Portugal works well ! NHR , efficient GNR (Police) and massive levels of integrity and safety.
This is the best video on this subject ive seen! You actually explained the different options, rather than just spitting out a vague list with all the same countries as every other list. Thank you so much!
I liked Croatia, visited Pula, but language seems hard maybe to learn
Nice that Croatia made the list.
Weather would be a factor for me. I do not like the cold. Also nations with high migrant populations scare me due to the attacks. Please do say about the Pacific Islands like Fiji. Thanks.
Thanks Andrew
Australia has its issues with safety, one of our friend was pickpocketed i Sydney, another had her house burgled, car smashed in vandalism, harassments by strangers in trains, bike theft is rampant( yours truly has two bikes stolen)..I always think low crime rates in western countries are exaggerated or statistics tampered.
You forgot Austria
I don’t understand why people always praise Germany, when Austria is much more affordable and livable. Less crowded, lower crime rate, better weather and lower cost of living. Plus, Austria allows its citizens to own and carry firearms.
@@fumble_brewski5410 maybe shetty government of Austria ?

I think when new zealand is listed #2 you can stop reading.
Portugal is the only country on that list I would consider.
Nice comparisons including looking at less popular and hyped places as well. Plus a balanced common sense view on the statistics
How about countries that are not following the dystopian nightmare of the WEF?
Awesome information as usual! Greetings from Portugal. Happy new year! 🥂🎉

Australia is extremely expensive. Fires and flooding. Our hospitals are going to shit and there is a huge housing crises.
Andrew
You are ignoring (IMO) 2 potential issues.
(i) climate change (I support GSM) will have an impact on where it is still comfortable to live (water, food, energy, safety)
(ii) Earthquakes and volcanoes appear to be increasing.
Poland is very good.
Vietnam or Thailand would be better in my opinion
You just need 25k euros a year to move there. I would move to Thailand though
As someone living in Canada & will be retiring at the same age myself. I would have to agree with the previous answers to your question. But i'd also look at Malaysia as well.
Both Panama and Costa Rica will. Good options, and much closer to home.
If you have plenty of money then UK is ok. But be careful where you live, more and more places are becoming sh*tholes...Also, the NHS is on its knees and lots of fat, lazy folk and now lots of criminal immigrants.
China and Singapore are safe to live in terms of safety. But China health care still have room to improve when compared to Singapore.
Nahhhhh…not china seriously bro.
U muz be kidding.
Get ur facts right bro.
Safe to me means no vax mandates. Better make a new list.
Vietnam is a very safe place ever since the American military were sent home in 1973.
Norway have very high taxes, we also have free education & healthcare including in Norway, with more benefits because of very high taxes!
