Poor girl, i feel for her. I couldn't keep a smile like that if my boyfriend said that, and in front of a CROWD. I'd be bawling my eyes out. If you're embarrassed for her, blame her for going to a comedy show. Comedians don't care about context, they're just there to get laughs. So knowing if it's a first date or a 20th anniversary isn't the comedian's concern. The question may or may not even be appropriate, so there is no "right" answer.

This is the beauty of comedy. It touches real life at your core and pulls laughter out of it. But there's also a reality that hits you like a bitter after taste. Mike showed that he cannot handle pressure in front of his woman. Even if he doesn't love her, you never make your partner look bad in public.

But in that public situation, he should have just said “I do love her (... as a friend - keeping the second part to himself). She would know that he's being misleading to spare her (and himself embarrassment because he can't take a joke), but if she didn't realise what he was trying to do, they can simply deal with that later in private. It's like if a comedian ask a woman if her husband makes her orgasm, she will say YES even though he doesn't and she's been faking it just to spare him embarrassment in public.

Before watching this, i already appreciated my man. I already knew how different he is from my exes and a LOT of men out there. There has NEVER been a day in our entire relationship (5 years on October 13!) that i haven't been WELL aware of how blessed I am to have him.
And the reverse as well. He tells me every single day how lucky he is to have me, and how grateful he is. Just like i tell him.
But. After watching this video??
I already knew, but it just.... drove it home. You know what I mean? Like. Both of us had pure shit relationships before meeting each other. And we both make sure there's NO room for doubt in each other's minds about how much we love them.
So.... Even though we remember what our past relationships were like, sometimes we forget just how bad they were, or how miserable we felt, or how lonely and unloved and unappreciated. So when I saw this, I got hit with it, and I feel for her. I remember what it was like to be with someone like that. And having to pretend it was funny or not a big deal, etc etc. Being with someone who was more concerned with either looking cool, or seeming even slightly available to others, or worried they would look like less of a man for saying they loved me. And would happily humiliate me in front of anyone and everyone to avoid feeling like they were "whipped" or even unavailable to other women. And then be angry and scream at me if I seemed even slightly upset, even if I didn't voice anything.
But now, my fiance will gladly tell EVERYONE that he loves me. If someone doesn't know who his girl is, he will go out of his way to show them who it is. He is VERY vocal about his love of and admiration for me. And the same goes for the reverse. Neither of us would EVER willingly or knowingly let the other feel like that. I just. I already appreciate him with all my heart, and tell him all the time, but this just.... Holy shit. I showed it to him and I thanked him and hugged him for a solid minute straight. I'm so thankful we found each other.
