It’s normal to get burnt out when you do the same thing over and over again. You needed to slow down and change gears. Recognizing this will make more successful in the future. I will be 62 soon. When I started you tube a few years ago they kept telling me I needed a niche, just 1, not a bunch. Well, I am fortunate to not need this gig for money, just fun! You were the very first person, to teach me furniture flipping. I still haven't completely found just 1 niche, I have a few and I am ok with that. I may never be a big content creator, but you know, I am o.k. with that too. Having to do this, or just wanting to do this are really the 2 different extremes. Wait until your a grandma!!!!

Hmm. Maybe I'm one of the rare male Subscribers, but yeah, the new content that you mention is like yuck to me. As a content provider myself, a VERY SMALL CHANNEL that I'm really not into for the money, I do understand the change that you're encountering. I'm going through a similar change but mine is health related so I'm unable to travel like I was, providing that content to those who need it. I get it. You have a very successful channel that's plenty strong enough to change your content pulling those Subscribers that enjoy the new content and growing more of the same type of viewers until you're all about your new content and going strong. It's a good business decision verses starting a new channel from scratch. Good luck, I'll still enjoy the many flipping videos that I have yet to watch.

He said that if you went into a Blockbuster Video in the '90's and told them they would be out of business in 5 years, they would not have believed you.
I started watching your videos a year ago after my son died at age 47. I kept his nightstand, which was pretty beat up, and I had never redone a piece of furniture in my life! I found out from you how to strip it and what to use. And it turned out really pretty! I love your personality and will follow you gladly! You were one of the first people I watched for furniture flipping and always enjoyed watching your videos. I could see you were losing the enthusiasm you once had for it awhile back. Like others said it’s normal to have that happen and change gears. I’ve done that myself over the years . I’ve always been creative but since maybe 10 I’ve done ceramics class, drawing, painting, gardening, airbrushing then photography . Switched gears and got into cars but still did photography. Went back into sewing and then finally furniture . Each time though I said “I’ll never want to not be doing this “ . I still dabble in all except cars. But anyway you need to do what makes you happy 😊

My channel has always been "Christina Muscari", but I'm not ditching Pretty Distressed. My furniture is no longer distressed but I love the oxymoron of the name. We all walk through seasons and moments of "distress" but in the end they are "pretty" or "beautiful" because they bring breakthrough on the other side. The name has grown with me. ❤️
I love your furniture videos and have learned so much. Having said that, I can appreciate your need to do something different and being able to step back and allowing yourself to explore things you love. I really liked the pantry video, thanks for that! I’m quite a bit passed raising a family, but when I had school aged children I had a great group of friends who had been there and done that. I learned so much from them and they enriched my life. I think you’re going in the right direction for you. As women, I think we have a tendency to be there for everyone and to prioritize their needs above our own, which often leads to burnout and to losing our sense of self. I’m happy for you and plan to keep watching your content. You are so appreciated for your generosity and sharing your knowledge .
