  • I've been fishing the far north going on 35yrs now and the Top 10 holiday park in Whatuwhiwhi has become my number one place to base my 2-3 far north 6 day fishing trips each year. No matter where the wind blows form there is always somewhere to fish by boat, rocks or sand. You even have the west coast not to far and a few sheltered Harbours.
There's plenty of accommodation from your basic tenting right up to family chalets. It's a great place to stay with the kids with a safe beach to swim straight across the road. Launching your boat off the sand is easy and your into deep water with in min's.
If it's a fishing adventure your after, a family getaway or even a just a quite trip away this is the spot to stay with it being the heel of paradise.
If you end up coming to stay make sure to tell them hi from Jase from Reel Kiwi Fishing......
    Tight lines

Hi JJ, Love this video, I was looking over your videos to see what to watch next and come across the whatawhiwhi video. 40 years ago that was my fishing ground as a kid, had my own boat, nets and rod with my tackle box loaded with hooks and old spark plugs and sinkers haha. Caught my first 10 lb snapper up the when I was 11 yrs old. Keep up the mean as vids brother 👍👌

      Hi DW
Wow it must have been an even more untouched area back then and even more so special - I've been fishing it for about 25yrs now and it's awesome it's still as amazing as it was back then fishing wise 👌
Cheers for the support and tight lines
