When i saw he came in for jimmy g i felt more confident then when lance was going to be starter this yr. Before the injury. Purdy is the diamond in the ruff. Also if you look at bradys throws there arent on point either to high/low or to far to catch it.
Purdy has more experience than Trey in pressure situations. The game plan with Purdy is better scheme, the way they were trying to game plan with Lance was to gimmicky to exploit his physical abilities, but as a leader who would lead them to a title isn’t there in his make up. He’s not a team player, but a me player. No ship him out and keep Jimmy G. He’s a better back up and liked by his team mates. He has a similar demeanor, posture, and can will them to win just like Montana.
Lance should and will remain the starter, this is no slight at Brock he's been fantastic! I'll like to see how he adjusts as more teams get more film on him, that being said Lance is like 22. He's still younger than this last draft class of QBs outside of Howell. It would be ridiculous to write him off after 3 starts when Fields and Lawrence received passes for 2 seasons. Lance's ceiling is still much higher and he improved in every start he played on film imo, he's had good starts and definitely hasn't been bad enough to bail on him.

I'm mixed on this one ... I like both Trey and Purdy ... The problem with Purdy is that he has an average arm at best ... You can tell with the TD past to Aiyuk .. that ball got there pretty late. If they come into next season and say it's a QB competition between the two, I'm ok with that. If Trey is the starter then we at least know we have a good backup.

Jimmy G won't play another down for the 49ers. Trey is considerably more physically talented than Purdy, so conceivably, he would be a better QB. However, it is possible Purdy has more intangibles that make him better to be the guy. Luckily, they have them both on rookie contracts for the next 4 years. They will likely have Brock and Trey compete in the offseason.
